The food is decent but the service continues to be spotty. Went there last night and felt like I was ignored by the staff. Try the back back on the weekend!

Eh. I’m not sure where to begin. okay so 3 stars because it was a very nice ambience. I had the catfish(w/2 sides of baked beans because they did not have BBQ restaurant side dishes) deviled eggs, and a margarita. the catfish– bland tasted like air . the baked beans were pretty good no complaints there. deviled eggs– yuck, it was too much mayonnaise in them. margarita — not sure if any alcohol was in it. any BBQ restaurant with Kale on the menu is not a BBQ restaurant.

The turkey was outstanding and service was friendly. The pork bbq I tried was good but not the best i have had

I visited Smokebelly on New Year’s Eve for lunch. The restaurant is open, bright and nicely designed. There are large. flat screen TVs throughout the venue, making it a good option for game days. I ordered the brisket plate with mac and cheese and collard greens. While the brisket was tender and tasted pretty good, the sides were unexceptional. There were also fewer side options than I’ve typically seen at BBQ restaurants. While I wasn’t blown away by the food, I liked the venue, and our waiter was very friendly. I could see myself returning in the future and incorporating the restaurant into my lineup of game day options.

Food is outstanding, service is on point, atmosphere/ambiance is well done. They have live music on the weekend which is usually very good. This is a step above your average BBQ joint, this is Buckhead BBQ.

Yes! Hands down– you should definitely stop by this gem! This place is great for anyone who loves BBQ& great customer service! Pork disco Q fries are scrumptious & filling! Loved the spicy BBQ sauce :) Customer service is definitely what sets this place above the rest– Derek was extraordinarily helpful & attentive! He gave off the positive vibes that transform a good meal into a great time! Def wins a gold star in my book! Smokebelly is also a versatile location! It’s conveniently located– winding down from the Atlanta History Center, escape traffic on your way out from work, pick up some takeout to escape your dinner duties, pre game before a fun night in East Andrews… It’s a great place to catch up with friends, watch a game, have family dinner, or a fun date night! Pretty much any occasion really!

********ATTENTIONELJEFE(the boss/chef)************ it’s so unfortunate that I have to give you 3 stars and I may be pushing it. I came to your restaurant because I saw you on the show Food Porn and immediately left my house to try the infamous mac n cheese topped with smoke pork you raved about on the show. We came in on a Sunday afternoon around 1 pm on 01÷17÷16 so that you can look back to see who worked that day. First off the food was really good just not hot. Kinda luke warm but nevertheless I still enjoyed it. I’m not a picky eater at restaurants. We ordered 5 items. The mac n cheese(porky pig), the cherry coke ribs, the brunswick stew, the kale’rd greens and the smoked brisket empanadas. Our waitress was Ty. Everything was brought out except the empanadas which I really wanted but chalked it up to her forgetting because she was into the game that was playing on tv. Again, we aren’t picky eaters so we just let it go and finished our food. Low and behold we were charged for the food that we didn’t receive. By the time we noticed the dish was on the ticket, we had already paid for it and given Ty her tip. So we politely asked Ty to give us the $ 7.75 for the item we didn’t eat because you forgot to bring it out to us she seemed to be irritated by the fact that we asked for the money back. Instead of her giving the amount back, she asked how much of it do we want back??? uhhh all of it. She already had her tip so it’s not like it was being taken out of her tip. We were appalled by her attitude. We wanted to come back to this place because the menu has sooo many different things we wanted to try but Ty left such a bad taste in my mouth we’ll have to go elsewhere.

So I was one of the first people to go to this restaurant when they open last year. The first time I went there the food was pretty good I love the Western ambience and if I’m not mistaken they had a live band. I decide to go back to other times and I realize they had raised the prices, gave us less food and the customer service kind of sucks. I must say they make really good salmon dip and chips.

Great service. Our server Evan was real attentive and made great suggestions. I had the smoke wings for my appetizer which was so delicious; smoked to perfection. The half chicken was moist and just fell off the bone. The Mac & Cheese was cook to perfection. I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We went here on a Scoutmob and were pleasantly surprised and happy with the food! We tried the brisket and pork BBQ and both were very tasty! For sides we tried the kale(just ok) and the mac and cheese(pretty good) as well as the beans(just ok). I love their patio and the whole feel of the restuarant. I hope to see this place stick around. They’re another great dining option in the East Andrews/Buckhead area.

Foodie alert for Atlanta/Buckhead area! I’m picky when it comes to food. This place has amazing fare — pulled pork that’s not greasy, cherry Coke ribs, super salmon club, unique waffle fries, awesome staff! Highly recommend … go here SOON!

Went here for a friend’s birthday party. First, the good: Reasonable parking on a Saturday night They were able to quickly seat our party of 10 Fried pickles are the Decent barbecue My main beef with Smokebelly is the drinks. My husband ordered a couple of double jack and cokes while we were there. Lo and behold, they charged us double the price($ 8.50 for a regular jack and coke, $ 16.50 for a double). Err? I have never been to a place where they literally doubled the cost for a double. I could have maybe looked past this if the drinks hadn’t looked and tasted just like a single. Whomp whomp. Would not return due to getting railroaded on the drinks.

I wanted to like smoke belly, as it’s within walking distance of my office and barbecue is a great option for lunch fare. Unfortunately, our experience during my first lunch venture there was very meh. I went with the pulled pork sandwich, that excellent barometer by which a bbq place can be measured and got a side of Mac n cheese, another important gauge for bbq success. The portions were okay for lunch. The food itself was very… Meh. In GA, the bbq expectations are high, and this place just didn’t stand up to competition. Service was slightly disappointing but not bad. All of this together means I’ll probably be making my lunch run elsewhere.

Amazing food a a really good value. We went home with as much food as we ate. We ordered a triple with chopped pork, sliced brisket and ribs. The ribs were amazing and fell off the bone. The disco fries were a delicious appetizer and the pork mac and cheese wonderful. We also had a bacon Bloody Mary. How can you go wrong? Ask for Sean. He’ll take care of you.

I have been here several times and when I am craving good brisket and cherry-cola BBQ sauce, I head straight to Smokebelly. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Enough TV’s to watch sports on the inside and on the large patio on nice days. Plenty of parking. Their food is really good. My favorite is the brisket(chopped or sliced), and the baby back ribs. I love they use kale as their«southern greens». Make sure to try pork skins. And you must try all of the yummy BBQ sauces they offer. So good!!!

Smokebelly was named one of the best new restaurants in 2014 by Thrillist, so I decided to check it out. Let’s talk about the food. We ordered beef brisket, pulled pork, sweet potato soufflé, succotash, and a green salad. I ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork based on the other Unilocal reviews. When I had the beef brisket, it was probably one of the better ones I had in Atlanta but it wasn’t mind blowing. If you want good beef brisket, go to Texas. Pulled pork was nothing special but it was good. Sweet potato soufflé was good as well and I liked their succotash. The salad I ordered had grapes in it and I loved that. And the green salad was nice and hearty. Service was off. Our server forgot to bring us BBQ sauce with our plate and when we needed it, he took awhile for us to flag him back down to get some and took awhile to bring us our check. Despite the bad service, I’d come again to check out their other food. Side note, this place used to be aiko back in the day. And they have TVs here as well. I think this place would make a good place to watch sports.

This barbecue spot was delicious but the service was weird. I got the brisket and paid to upgrade to the sweet potato soufflé. Loved how there were so many options for sauce; I could cater to my spicy tooth in one bite and my more vinegary cravings in another. The portions were great for the price, and this seriously nursed my hangover away. But our waitress was nowhere to be found and when we paid we put cash and a credit card on the check. Everywhere I’ve gone EVER has known to do the cash first and then put the remainder on the card or asks what to do with it. Ol’ girl over decided to put everything on the card and give us singles in place of the cash… huh? The fact that I remember her quirk more than the taste of the food is a testament to how bizarre it was. But due to me enjoying my meal, I’d certainly give it another shot.

Ya’ll I’m am telling you… I didn’t know pulled pork could do me so good. I’m going to try and get through this without focusing on how much I want another sandwich but it will be a difficult task. First things first, for now there are no reservations required. Ambiance is casual dining meets pub /cookout fun. You can come here with your boo, or your best pal for a carb fest or better yet get a picnic feel by bringing the family. The menu has excellent selections that can keep you on the«kale me krazy» train or take you straight to «Aunt Paula’s» house for all the smoky, yummy sauced, super fried, cheesy, buttery goodness that you can dream of. After learning the sandwich buns were made by Holman and Finch, I decided to pull on up at Aunt Paula’s for my pork fest. The verdict was excellent obviously but I recommend mixing the bbq sauces for the best effect. Also, be sure to ask about the sides. All sides are not created equal. This is not a fries type of place. This is a place for Mac and Cheese, succotash; greens, and baked beans. Don’t go doing too much, come to eat as you would at a cook out. I’m sure the salads are fine, but you’d be doing yourself and your people a disservice by passing on the pork(or chicken for all you folks who are anti pig). They are perfect for a weeknight meal and apparently have great lunch specials if you work nearby. Needless to say I’ll be back!

Dear Smokebelly BBQ, where have you been all my life? I tried Smokebelly for dinner with a friend thanks to a generous gift certificate I received. The night we went, they weren’t particularly busy, and we were seated right away at one of the enormous booths. We started the meal with the bacon deviled eggs, which were okay… as advertised, they tasted like deviled eggs with bacon(although there was some unexpected tarragon action going on, as well). Deviled eggs aren’t my favorite, but they were fine. The main course was definitely the show-stopper of our evening, though. Each of us got a two-meat platter with two sides. He opted for smoked turkey and pulled pork with sides of fries and brunswick stew, while I chose the pulled pork and the ¼ rack of ribs with sweet potato soufflé and succotash. Both meals came with Texas toast and their 7 homemade sauces. By far, the two standout meats were the smoked turkey, which was juicy and perfectly tender, and the parts of pulled pork with substantial bark. My goodness, that bark was so tasty that no sauce was needed. The ribs were also good, although perhaps a little *too* tender — I like a little bit of chew to my ribs. The pulled pork without bark was ok, but lacked that extra depth of flavor. The seasoned waffle fries were fine, but mostly useful as a vehicle for trying the various sauces. The succotash was just okay and consisted of corn, edamame, and tomatoes, served chilled. The brunswick stew, which was the last thing eaten on the table, was underwhelming. It had a great savory flavor but was missing something that makes brunswick stew amazing. We weren’t able to put our finger on it exactly… was it not sweet enough? not enough tang? Either way, it wasn’t quite satisfying. The sweet potato soufflé was a sweet, fluffy dream that could easily be the star of any Thanksgiving dessert table. The sauces were all tasty, but the standout was definitely the savory sauce. The cherry Coke and sweet sauces kind of blended into each other, and the Carolina vinegar sauce wasn’t vinegary or spicy enough in my opinion. The spicy sauce was also curiously mild. The other two sauces, the Alabama white and the Carolina mustard, were tasty but definitely niche flavors. The service was friendly and earnest throughout the evening, and we spent most of the meal exchanging wide-eyed looks of delight as we put bite after bite of deliciousness in our mouths. Even with the few disappointments, I still think it merits five stars, and we will definitely be back soon.

Silly Buckhead, this isn’t BBQ. I love Big Ketch and my lunch receipt had a coupon for $ 5 off Smoke Belly. I’m always down for BBQ so I went the next day for lunch. The location and building are great. The inside is nicely laid out with a gorgeous green tufted bench lined with tables by the bar, oversized booths by the window and nice wood tables with metal chairs all with views of the TV’s on every wall. There was even a cute mason jar light fixture by the front door. It was mid day on an SEC Saturday and they had every college game on, something I appreciated. The ambiance was good. Happy patrons, full bar and the staff was very attentive. Andrew was our waiter and he was very personable and welcomed us as this was our first visit. I appreciated the free pork rinds but that’s where the food enjoyment stopped. I ordered the pulled pork platter with the spiral Mac n cheese and Brunswick stew. My friend ordered the sliced brisket with baked beans and Cole slaw. The food arrived quickly, which was great but everything was cold. My pulled pork was oddly wet. I can understand if you add sauce but it was vinegar water and cold. I understand it’s noon and the meat may not be made the same day but at least warm it up. It was a sad, cold, fatty pile of oddly oily pork. I attempted to add their Carolina sauce but it was a lost cause. The spiral Mac n cheese was also cold and not fresh. The Brunswick stew was too spicy and also cold. The only saving grace was the pickles… yep, that’s right-pickles. My friends brisket was also cold, dry and very fatty. The cole slaw had too much vinegar and had an odd bite to it. The baked beans were the best part of his meal. To get the greasy vinegar taste out of our mouths, we stopped at The Greater Good BBQ on the way home to rinse our mouth out with real BBQ. Overall, I’d go back to Smoke Belly for drinks and to watch a game but their version of BBQ isn’t good.
