Greater Good BBQ is sandwiched between Wieuca Rd and Fellini’s Pizza. It’s pretty small inside, but they do have an outdoor porch. They have your standard BBQ menu from sandwiches to bbq plates. The BBQ plates comes with 2 sides and Texas Toast. So it’s pretty much the same as many other places. I tried their pulled pork and one of their specials for the day the Kansas city Chicken. Their pulled pork wasn’t bad. The meat wasn’t too dry. It was smoked well. And it went well with the hot sauce. Speaking of sauces, they have a few sauces available at their tables. They have table, Carolina, hot, tabasco, and ketchup. Their table sauce taste like black bean sauce. It was weird. I like their Hot BBQ sauce, because of their heat. Anyway, their Kansas City Chicken was decent. The chicken seemed like it was mostly white meat. The meat was on the dry side. The sauces tasted sweet. The flavor tasted like Chef Boyardi’s Spaghetti-O’s. Nothing wrong with that, it gave me a good nostalgic flavor. Their Brunswick Stew was interesting. It had a very strong wine flavor. I asked them, and they did put wine in their Stew. They must have used wine as the main base for their liquid because I felt like I was drinking wine. I thought the flavor was interesting at first, but I began to not like it. The wine was too strong. Their green beans were fine. I have no complaints. Their service was good and the food is good. If you’re in the Buckhead area, it’s not a bad place to go for BBQ.

Stopped in for the first time and have to say I’m impressed with what I had. Enjoyed the pulled bbq chicken sandwich and some really tasty fries. They have a great selection of different sauces and me being a sauce guy, I tried them all. For me, spicy usually takes it and this one didn’t disappoint. Mixed with a bit of black pepper and ketchup et voila… perfection.

We don’t live near The Greater Good, but I enjoy picking up BBQ from there when we visit family members in the Atlanta area. The brisket is particularly good, and I love all of the sauces. Definitely give it a try!

I like this place. I find it to be good BBQ. This was my second time here, and unfortunately I don’t remember what I ordered the last time, which was over a year ago. This time around I ordered the two meat combo, with two sides. The chicken was pretty average. I have had much better, but it was fine. The other meat I ordered was a fried rib. This sounded crazy to me, but I had to try it. It was outstanding. Although probably terrible from a health standpoint, It tasted fabulous. The two sides I got were mac and cheese and collared greens. The mac and cheese was pretty good, maybe slightly above average. The greens were not very good. One of the best parts of this place is the BBQ sauces at your table. There is about 4 options, and they are all delicious. I will come back for sure, but I may have to be careful in what I order because it seems some things are much better than others.

I’m so happy to have found a BBQ home. This place had me at the potato salad. It wasn’t filled with mayo like most. It was almost like a sweet mash potato in texture. I really enjoyed it. My meal came out within 5 minutes of me ordering it! My ribs were tender and savory. And I also had a side of macaroni cheese and all for about $ 12! I think the price, service and food were awesome. I will be taking my family here when they come to visit.
The whole experience was outstanding. The potato skins with brisket and pimento cheese were filling and tasty. The ribs had a fantastic dry rub, it had a caramalized taste that I really enjoyed. The onion rings are homemade and the mac and cheese was on point. Just a perfect bbq experience

Not bad not bad at all. I tried the fried ribs with the rib slider and the brisket slider. I must say I was surprised how good both were. The ribs were not overcooked and the sauce was kind of sweet but added a nice balance. If I come to Atlanta again I may stop by.

The food was very delicious and hospitality was on point. They didn’t have a kids meal but they worked it out.

Bbq is awesome! Ribs were delicious, I got them wet. Fell right off the bone. Yummy. Sides are another story. I got baked beans and Mac & cheese and they tasted like what you’d get from Golden Corral. I probably won’t be back since I love me some mac & Cheese but this place is definitely good if your main focus is the bbq. Happy eats!

This place knocked my socks off — & I’m not even a big BBQ fan! I’m not even sure what drew me in now that I think about it, but I’m so glad I discovered it! Located on a very busy section of Roswell Rd., you’ll miss it if you blink. You’re more likely to find it if you look for LaFonda, which sits next door. The place is always packed. It’s interior is just what a BBQ joint should be — filled with a smoky aroma of BBQ& no-frills décor. Super casual & laid back. The seating is a bit cramped but people are usually in & out fairly quickly. They also have a thriving takeout business. Parking can be a challenge. It draws a big lunch crowd — I’d recommend late lunch or pre-dinner hours. Prices are on par with other BBQ venues. Service is not the friendliest, but maybe it was an off day. When I go for BBQ, I’m usually most interested in the sides… the comfort of mac & cheese, collard greens, etc. It’s the Southern girl in me, who misses home cooking! But… this place has me askin ‘where’s the meat’?!! Their chicken is to die for — amazingly juicy, tender, & oh so delicious! The brisket is also good but the chicken tops it in my book. My favorite sides were good but they really weren’t the main attractions. This place may have set-off a BBQ obsession! I’ll definitely return for the chicken & maybe to try the ribs.

Being from St Louis, I thought I’d have to go home to get great BBQ. Well. Thank goodness I found this place. Less than two blocks from my new home too. Yayyy. Everything was fresh and the meat is tender and seasoned to perfection. The smoked wings are worth tying again and again. And the ribs and brisket remain in my dreams. I didn’t need sauce. That’s says so much. Oh. The customer service. Outstanding!!! Everyone greeted me when I walked in and answered all my questions. Can’t wait to take my parents and friends to try it. I know they’ll love it too.

Greater good was my first BBQ experience coming into Atlanta. And let me say, they set the bar extremely high. Normally, I would not give a 5-star review to a location that did not have a full menu of things for me to order from, but I did receive from them was so good I had to give him the five stars. We came through on a late sunday evening and they had sold out of many items. I was able to order the loaded potato skins with chopped brisket. You huys, thia was SOGOOD! Smokey, tender, goodness. Love it!!! We also tried pulled pork which was delicious. The sides were just okay, but, come on, when you go for bbq its about the meat. Five star meat. One star sides.

One of my top 3BBQ places in Atlanta. My coworkers and I go on a fairly regular basis for lunch. Pork and chicken sandwiches are great, portions are big, everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The ONLY thing I don’t enjoy is the brunswick stew, but I’m really picky when it comes to brunswick stew so not many places pass my test. So I am still giving 5 stars.

Hmmm. This place has no beer on tap. Now, I’m not saying this to be a beer snob as some beers actually taste better in cans according to my bartender acquaintance Nate at the Lindbergh Taco Mac(think Orpheus) but just to point out that a BBQ joint does not have beer on tap. It’s like walking into a McDonald’s and there are no fries. Huh? Anyway, as for the actual food, overall it was decent. Dry ribs were good, nice texture and there was a pretty decent amount. Kid got the tacos which were also decent. I do my own brisket with oak wood and honestly I didn’t get much of a smoke flavor at all on the brisket taco. I saw someone else’s review showing a pic of the pile of wood out back but maybe they just don’t use much of it. Meat otherwise tasted okay, not too dry. The slaw on the tacos was pretty decent, light on the mayo and crunchy. Brunswick stew was pretty tasty with a decent amount of pork but it was served lukewarm. Don’t really understand how that happens. The place wasn’t exactly hopping busy. They have a variety of sauces which I tried including sweet, hot, carolina but no mustard-based ones I saw in case that’s your favorite. Overall they tasted pretty good as well. Place inside is fairly small. Service was good. I will probably go back in the future to try a few of their other items. It’s got a lot of potential but as it is right now, it’s hit or miss.

BBQ pork and chopped brisket are very very good. basket of fried pickles and jalapenos are a must! Ribs were dry and needed lots of sauce. The chicken was very tender and moist but lacked seasoning, thus lots of sauce required.

All these times that my colleagues and I had lunch around this place, this building never caught my attention. But through Unilocal,on our BBQ craving day, we discovered a new spot for lunch. The building itself is very small with black roof cover that has«BBQ» on it. If you want to dine in, grab a table and the server will come serve you, otherwise order at the cashier box for to go. Seating is limited but it also had a nice patio area where we sat. We all ordered the sliced brisket platter with 2 sides. I ordered the cole slaw and collard greens. Definitely recommend the brisket and collard greens! Also, I would recommend a hidden menu item onion rings, which we will try on our next visit. All of their sides seemed appetizing and the meat was juicy and moist! Like it’s name, the greater good BBQ~ Also, they have awesome sauces like spicy, sweet, Carolina’s, and more. All delicious! Will be back again!

For some reason I thought this place was bigger than what it was. It’s kind of small inside but they do have a patio. I came on a Friday night and was able to sit down right away. I ordered the Pulled Pork plate. Plates come with two sides– I picked macncheese and french fries. They have different types of bbq sauce on the table. I cannot remember all of the names. I tried all of them except the Carolina sauce. I’m not a fan of the mustard based bbq sauces. I think the names got mixed up on the sauces because the sweet tasted like original, and the original tasted very sweet. I went with the one that tasted like original. The food was decent but nothing I’d rush back to. It is better than some of the other bbq places in the area… I won’t name names lol. I guess I need to go back and try the ribs– everyone says those are great. The staff and our server were nice. No issues with service here. Parking is free, but sometimes the people next door at Fellini’s fill the spaces.

This place doesn’t look like much on the outside but inside amazing BBQ awaits. You are given 3 sauces at the table-hot, house(my favorite, nice and smoky), and Carolina which was mustard based. The brisket plate($ 12.95) was our favorite choice. You can get it chopped or sliced but chopped is the way to go. This way you get all the fatty bits chopped in there with the smoked BBQ goodness. The Mac and Cheese had that crispy outside I love with the cheesy goodness we all desire. The Collard Greens have the right amount of pork chunks and fat to make them mouth watering and sinful. My friend got the pulled pork($ 11.95) which was a bit dry but still pretty good. It’s usually a great pick. Another friend got the full baby back ribs slab($ 23.95) which he ate to the last bite. We agreed they do ribs right! Overall we were left with happy full bellies. The wait staff was sweet as pie too.

So I came here for lunch today and was very excited based on all of the great reviews I saw. We walked and after I read the sign up above I realized we were supposed to seat ourselves. It was pretty packed but fortunately we lucked out because a table was being cleaned when we walked in. As soon as we sat down, or waiter greeted us and gave us a menu. The service was really good. I decided to order the chili cheese fries. When I looked at the pictures on here, they made my mouth water so I had to try them out. They were pretty good but not as good as Fox Brothers. I thought they would be more flavorful but I found myself needing to add some of the sweet bbq sauce from the table. I also ordered a brisket salad. The salad looked big and delicious so I was excited to dive in. There were lots of fat pieces which I want very happy about. I almost took a picture of the pile of fat I removed from the salad but I figured maybe that’s just normal for brisket. Overall everything was ok. I didn’t have the Mac and cheese but I saw it on other people’s plate and it looks soupy if that’s what your into. I would come back and try something else because the service was great but I’m not in a rush.
