The food here is ok. You can get an almost free breakfast if you have status at the Hilton. The voucher doesn’t cover the entire buffet bill, though. It’s a very expensive buffet, but there is a large variety of food here. They also have a made to order omelette station. Other food items at the breakfast buffet includes cereal, waffles, oat meal, yogurt, soy milk, cheese, lox, banana, orange, apple, berries, melons, pineapple, hash, turkey sausage, pork sausage, bacon, muffins and assorted breads.

Unsure of how to rate this place, since so many things are on different ends of the quality spectrum. First of all, the place looks nice, and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. The menu offered was different than the menu featured on Unilocal, but after getting over that confusion everything was okay. Chicken and Waffles was delicious, especially the sweet potato waffle which added a nice touch. Drinks were overpriced, though, and though the food portions are large the price still seems quite steep. Nicest choice for a meal in the Hilton, as long as you don’t mind paying extra.

I’ve had the occasion to have a few drafts at Southern Elements in the Atlanta Hilton. I like the place quite a bit — I’ve only snacked on the food with others so I can’t speak too much about that but what I have eaten was quite tasty. It’s the bar itself that’s quite good with fantastic service and a friendly demeanor(at least at the bar which is what I recommend). They also have the above-average Goose Island IPA on draft which is one of the better beers you’ll find in the area. The food and drink is a little pricey but you are in downtown and the prime convention area so it’s to be expected.

I’m giving this 2 stars based on the actions of the manager. Had she not comped our meal, there would have been no stars. We were a party of 8, made a reservation and thought we were all set. Forget about it. The woman at the desk had no clue about reservations. She left us to go set up our table. We got there and it was 2 four tops separated by a 2 top. She and the waiter couldn’t seem to get that we wanted to all sit together. The breakfast bar was minimal at best. Good sausages and bacon but minimal bread choices. The line was too long for omelet a and they didn’t look all that appealing. Through the the meal, we constantly had to find staff to replenish coffee, I had to hunt someone to get me hot tea water. They brought the wrong food to two members of our party. The food is standard hotel fare and no where near worth the price. Additionally, parking in their garage for 90 minutes cost $ 9.00! This makes two bad hotel experiences in just over two weeks. Time to look at other options.

Service doesn’t match the cost. The food was just«okay». Drinks from the bar and tea refills took forever.

Just leaving the restaurant… As hotel guests we were hoping to visit the restaurant several times during our visit. After tonight that is probably not going to happen. And not because of the food or the little high prices, but because of the poor service from our waitress(CHK2851). She took so long to bring appetizers and entries, our beer glasses were empty for so long, we gave up on the second round and she had a very bad attitude.

Southern Elements is a bar and restaurant in the Atlanta Hilton. Set up for casual dining, the atmosphere is comfortable. The staff was attentive without making you feel like they were hovering or trying to move you along. Iris was a great server, ready to engage if I had a question-she’s from Virginia, but displayed an open southern hospitality that was genuine. Started with a Caesar Salad. This was served nicely dressed with crisp Romaine, white beans, and a generous amount of Parmesan cheese shavings. The entrée was pan fried chicken and mashed potatoes with pan gravy. A half chicken was served in a basket that made getting to the potatoes awkward, and you wanted to get to the potatoes; they were great and the gravy had great flavor. The chicken was crispy and flavorful outside, hot and juicy inside. At $ 20 for the entrée, I felt I got away from a conference venue hotel restaurant satisfied and not feeling it was hugely overpriced. I hear they have a breakfast buffet. We’ll see. On a subsequent visit, busy conference night, I ordered the shrimp and grits. I’m a northern boy, I don’t know the subtleties of grits, I’ll admit. But this was a great dish, well composed, wonderfully seasoned, the grits were creamy, and the shrimp nicely done. It did not disappoint.

Awful service waited over 15 mins while 4 staff members finished their conversation. A 5th actually greeted and waited on is.

I am a very big fan of this place. Had to travel to Atlanta and ended up staying at the Hilton. Didn’t know what to expect but was quite happy when I saw this place was here. It’s quite pricey, but then again, so is any hotel bar/restaurant you visit. Loved the bartender that was there and Monday Night Football was on, so I was quite happy. The food was great, the drinks were great, the service was great and the fact that I didn’t have to drive anywhere was even better after being in the car all day. Well worth it!

Pricey but worth it. Must haves are crispy chicken and potatoes, shrimp and grits, or the smoked turkey sandwich. The atmosphere here is great and the décor is sheik. The service was excellent and quick.

Good food, pricey, but what do you expect in a restaurant located in a hotel? Coffee service is slow, so you don’t get more than a couple of refills, but it is great coffee. People are wonderfully friendly. I would agree with the person who wrote«don’t order the coleslaw.» I ate here several times, and everything else was good.

This bar is in the Hilton Hotel and I stayed there recently for a conference. The bar is nicely furnished and the staff are friendly. I didn’t eat dinner so I can’t speak to the food or food service, but the bartenders were nice and the drink prices reasonable. The wine prices were good by the glass and I’d definitely go again.

Horrible service. Staff treated me as an inconvenience instead of a customer. Long wait for simple food. Good basil infused lemonade.

Fantastic service, prices are high but its a hotel lobby bar/restaurant to be expected. So the crab fritters where really good, the shrimp and grits, totally rocked… really. Second best grits ever next to Kings Mill.

Service was pretty slow, it took about 20 minutes before I got helped initially. Despite the wait my waiter was very nice and my food was very good. I ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Not the best restaurant but again my meal was tasty and this was convenient because I was at the Hilton already(and it was the only restaurant out of the 3 in the hotel that was open)

Service was great, but the food… I should have known hotel food is hotel food — expensive but terrible. I had the southern minestrone soup and fresh green salad with grilled salmon. The potatoes and carrots in the soup were undercooked so couldn’t eat them. Salmon had no taste and not enough dressing or flavor in the salad. All that for a $ 30 bill… If this is what you get, I wouldn’t order room service at this hotel.

This spot is nestled in the Hilton. I only hit this place up once a year when I’m volunteering for Dragoncon. The pros: 1. A nice restaurant at one of the host hotels. Convenient, easy to get to, and pretty easy to get seated. The reasons why will come up later. 2. Very nice atmosphere that can be romantic. I like modern design with low lighting, but that’s me. The cons: 1. The were definitely understaffed. Why would you do this during a major convention? I’m not sure if you want angry Wookies when you can’t provide them service. Remember, Han shot first and it will most likely happen when the service can’t keep up. One of our group members was very rude to our waitress because of this. Luckily I’m not afraid to confront people when they’re wrong. She was not amused. My lightsaber ended the the argument swiftly. 2. I ordered their buffet, which runs $ 20. For that money, I would expect a little diversity but most off some nice cuts of meat. The roast beef seemed like leftovers from a Rancor meal. I was not impressed at all. I’ve been here at least once a year and it just seems like it’s a restaurant to claim it’s a restaurant. There really isn’t anything here that connects it elements that are southern. During the con, most of attendees are on the eat-like-crap diet. I would think a place charging these prices would provide a higher quality choice of meal. At least hook me up with some Romulan ale for the über buzz.

Not the best for the conference — attitude from the manager about a 20 minute wait for buffet food made en masse at a price too high to explain the small selection but seated right away anyway. The pork was cold and the fried chicken untouched. Drinks are full of ice. Best items? Mac & cheese and sugar cookies.

Gave us free dessert from buffet simple deserts cookies Cheroos and cookies Got another wine and lemoncello During dragon con so everything is hectic yet other than the hostess not understanding a request for only appetizers every was very well done

Was staying here three nights for business and went down to Southern Elements on my arrival – the bar was busy, which was a good sign. Problem was that the bar was understaffed, and the host and the manager took to standing around versus helping the bartender. I ordered dinner, and it came out 30 minutes later with a temperature that indicated that it had been sitting out for 25 minutes. The bartender disappeared, so I talked to the manager(the one standing around) and he arranged for me to get a new entrée and credited me for the original one. Never again.
