I love me a Frisco Melt, but I think I just had my last-ever Steak and Shake meal. This location is an exact replica of every location I’ve been to in the last 3 years. It just shouldn’t take 2 hours to eat at Steak and Shake. And if you order a shake… add an extra half hour. Service is horribly slow. Interesting, too, that we had almost no interaction with employees during the long wait. But somehow, after the food arrived, we had 4 different employees come ask«how is everything?» Last year, after an excruciating experience at a Florida location, I told the cashier as I was paying that this had been my worst Steak and Shake experience ever. Her response was, «Uiaowww», or something like that. That was all I got. I’m done.

One of the dirtiest restaurants I’ve been in. The kitchen, visible from portions of the dining area, has extensive trash on the floor, floors so slippery from grease that children were observed«skating» on it. Service reflected the overall environment.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! Dirty, disgusting restaurant! The GM should be fired and this roach coach should be closed down. I’ve complained to corporate office about this place. Eat here at your own risk.

I used to be a Steak ‘n Shake fanatic … Memorial Dr. Days = ancient lol But after dealing with this location(this sweet Sam AZZ thing brings the order to the window with half filled shakes and whipped cream to conceal the laziness of the order) smh and Cobb parkways is definitely no different… I don’t what the requirements are to work there but they need to go back and revise on the training of customer service and the integrity of the company BC I will not return to ANY of there establishments… Corporate is some BS. BDAAAATTTTT

Walked in to order us a steak burger and I went to the restroom. The restrooms were disgusting. Dirty. The floors in this location are greasy. I about fell walking to the restroom. We ended up walking out of this place without ordering anything. Do NOT recommend.

They got our drive through order wrong by adding an extra millshake. No big deal. The big deal was when the manager started yelling, yes I mean yelling, at the poor girl working the drive through register. He was so aggressive and inappropriate. He scared her over a stupid 4 buck millshake. I also felt very uncomfortable and threatened by this manager. Needless to say I left. The poor checkout girl… if any management or the owner want to contact me please do. I’ll try to find a way to get a hold of you. That poor girl deserves a raise! Fire that psychotic manager

Placed an online order for pick up, showed up when it was scheduled to be completed as they hadn’t even started it. The dining room was nearly empty. They were not busy. What is the point in having online ordering of you don’t send the order to the kitchen until I arrive?

On one of those nights where you’ve had 10+ shots of vodka, there is only one or two things in the world that can make me happier than Steak ‘n Shake. It’s just the best drunk food out there, period. I usually get the original steakburger, but also tried the spicy variation with jalapenos and avocado. Now, here is why I am not happy. Even though they were robbed, this is a 24⁄7 chain and closing the restaurant early is not the solution. Hire a cop if needed, but keep my steak ‘n shake open!

This is my favorite location. I frequent here on my way home from work. The staff has always been courteous and attentive. The waitress left my salad and then brought it late and comped my bill. Very kind of her to do that. The burgers are always made to order and taste great.

UPDATE: Apparently they were robbed. A bunch. Totally understandable reason to close at night. And I’m writing this update while eating at this location at 3:30AM. So things are looking up, hopefully? I’ve always thought this location was a decent Steak ‘n Shake. They perform adequately, and while the drive thru line can sometimes take a while, I’ve never had my order screwed up. Steak ‘n Shake is definitely a sometimes food – don’t get me wrong – but it’s a nice treat to have on occasion, like when you need diner-style fast food to cry when yr life’s going to shit. Or, well, it has been, until recently. This location has been closing from midnight to 7 every night – if I’m not mistaken – for the past 3 months. This is a 24 hour chain restaurant in an affluent area, and it’s next to a bunch of private schools that regularly back the drivethru up through the parking lot. Seems like mismanagement to me. I’m not docking them a star or anything, I just figure people should be aware of this before they go here for a roadtrip pick-me-up or something and instead find the restaurant closed and their stomach empty.

Haven’t been here in years and wasn’t impressed with my return visit. Ordered a shake and Frisco Melt to go and was waited 15 minutes for a burger that under-delivered and a decent shake. Furthermore, prior to my burger being complete, I was brought a small milkshake despite ordering and paying for a large. After first being told I actually ordered a small because she, ‘looked at the ticket,’ the kitchen employee agreed to make me a regular. Upon receiving my burger and leaving, I glanced at the receipt in the bag to confirm I did indeed order a large. Oh well. In sum, the food is decent, but ultimately brought down by the service.

Do not go to this steak and shake location. It’s the worst. I’ve always had a few issues now and then at this location but this last time was the clincher. It took a good 10 minutes just to put in my order and another 20 or so for them to get it right. And that was from the time they handed me the first bit of food until the last bit of food was correct and in my car. Not including the time to wait for the two people ahead of me to get their stuff. First thing on my order I asked for a double steakburger with no bun, fries and a coke. The woman on the drive through didn’t understand at all. «You mean you only want the patty?» No, I want the burger with all the toppings as it comes, just no bun. «What?» No bun… –silence– no bread with the burger… –silence–«Whatchu mean? no bun?» Yes, no bun, everything else with the burger, just no bun. Also, an side fry and a number 3 with a root beer. After a few more seconds another guy came on the speaker «Hello sir, what did you want? » I want a double steakburger with no bun. «yeah, ok a steakburger with no bun. You want everything else on it?» Yes please. «You want cheese on it?» No thank you. «That’ll be –price of burger – . Drive around» Wait, what’s on the order? He reads back only the burger Ok, I’d also like an extra side of fries and a number 3 with a root beer. I have a coupon for a free side of fries«ok, the total is now –total cost – » Thank you. When I get up to the window the lady starts to hand me the two drinks saying the total(which was different than the guy told me over the speaker). I hand her my coupons; puts the drinks down and takes the coupons. She looks at them a little confused and asks me what I ordered. I go over the order again and she says ok and calls her manager over to put them in. At this point I’m guessing it’s her first day on the job so I should be more patient. Once the coupons are in I get a third price which is MORE than the previous amount. As my fiancé and I bring this to her attention I ask if I can get a receipt so I can double check the order. The lady says«Well yeah.» As she takes my card and proceeds to charge my card(I shouldn’t have been holding my card out the window of my car) She then hands me a small bag with the frisco melt and fires(number 3) and the reciept. I went over the reciept and find they did not put in the coupons. Told her about it and the manager comes over again to ask what the problem is. The proceeding back and forth of exchanges and refunds, wrong orders, new reciepts, honking horns, more explanations of the order, more wrong foods, and final resolution was exhausting. Apparently the manager is not able to give a free side with coupon, they gave us .79 cents at first for a 1.79 side, then a dollar and finally two dollars. The foods that came out were: a frisco melt and fries(good) two single steakburgers(bad — sent back) two single steakburger patties(bad — sent back) two patties with all the toppings(close enough, there was no mayo or ketchup but we’ll take it) um, we need another fry one more side of fries(good — we got all our food) Can we get our drinks too? finally got the two drinks and now the order is complete. During this time two cars drove out of the drive through line abandoning their food orders. One stopped next to us honking and demanding to know what was the hold up. Another car had people get out to ask if they were open because they were in the drive through lane and it hadn’t moved for 15 minutes. Also, The drive through now wrapped around the building. Never again.

I guess I’m a glutton for punishment… or milkshakes, because I’ve endured abysmal service on two occasions at this particular Steak ‘n Shake in the past week. I used to love this place, the food wasn’t great, but it was familiar, quick, and cheap. As other reviewers have said, I don’t usually write reviews for chains, but commenting on crappy service here is Unilocal-worthy. I went on a Thursday night around 8:00PM. Saw a large table of students and several occupied two-tops, but the place wasn’t slammed by any means and many customers seemed to be wrapping up. My boyfriend and I joined a couple of people by the door to wait to be seated. We waited over 10 minutes and during that time no one was greeted by staff who even, quite awkwardly, avoided eye contact. A few of us in line decided to seat ourselves at one of the many empty, dirty tables hoping we’d be served faster. Another 10 minutes later, a manager came and took the drink order of the guy behind us, stopped by our table after we waved her down to clean it, but rushed away without taking our drink order. Much later, someone finally came to take our order. I lost track of time at this point, but I’m sure it’d been well over 30 minutes since we’d arrived. Milkshake finally came out, finished long before the meal came out though. Burgers weren’t hot and the fries were old(strange considering the turnaround they should have here for common items like fries). Worst of all, our wait to pay felt longer than our wait time to order. After standing at the register for awhile and several awkward attempts at gaining eye contact(again alongside newly frustrated patrons vying for some attention), I had to wave over a busboy who could get the attention of a waitress to could check us out. Tonight I experienced a similar situation — restaurant nowhere near full and no greeting whatsoever. After trying the seat ourselves routine again, we gave up to try the drive thru(for the love of milkshakes!). 20 minutes later we were on way. Old fries(again) but no milkshake unfortunately because the machine was out of order. The manager gave me a coupon for one, which I appreciate, but I doubt I’ll use it anytime soon. I really think I could have endured most of the waiting and the lukewarm meal if I’d ATLEAST been greeted at some point when I arrived or later when I wanted desperately to get out of there.

I usually don’t bother writing reviews for chain restaurants, and I am hesitant to hand out one star reviews. Unfortunately, this Steak and Shake has me breaking my usual Unilocal conventions. It doesn’t really matter what time of day, how crowded the place is, or how many employees are working, you will wait a long time for your meal. «Awesome!» you might say, «that means it will arrive to me piping hot and delicious.» No such luck. You will wait for your meal, and it will arrive lukewarm, at best. Without fail, whether I go to the drive through or inside to order takeout, the food is never hot. As I have had an unpleasant experience at all times of the day or night, I can only assume it’s a management problem. And that’s a shame. I visited this location fairly regularly as an undergrad and I don’t remember such bad memories. If you’re not in a hurry, don’t mind receiving your milkshake 15 minutes before your food, and can deal with cold fries, you will find this place acceptable. Otherwise avoid it, at least until they make some changes.

What a chaotic restaurant. The waitresses were rude and I was charged with the wrong things, did not add my coupons, the shakes came out before the meal, and everyone around us were angry because it took them forever to get the food out. People were just staring at each other in great disbelief. Luckily, our server Latricia was very nice. This was the first time my sister and niece from brazil has ever eaten here and i was so embarrassed, but we still made the best of it. I really like steak and shake but I dont think I will be coming back here.

I’ve been to this place a total of 3 times. Out of the three times the service only ONCE I had a good service. At late night its only ONECOOK, ONECASHIER&ONESERVER. Imagine the place swamp with 20 or more people. Its highly slowly & it seems like the Co workers are always calling off. What is wrong with this establishment. It is sad how slow it is at night. When you get your food its cold & you damn near froze your booty off waiting for it. I hate giving places a ONESTAR… But it is what it is

Haven’t been to a steak n shake in years… the last time I visited a location, I was in college for the first time in ’03. So as I no longer consume meat, what did I go to steak n shake for??? Well fries and a shake of course. So I stopped by the drive thru after a ridiculous day at work to drown myself in a shake… that was my mistake, because as I sat by the front door in my car waiting for my large fry, I tried to sip on my shake but it wouldn’t give. So after a bit of coaxing and stirring with my straw I was finally rewarded with this syrupy sugary grainy gelatinous liquid that tasted nothing like a shake… As my fries finally came out piping hot in their GIANT large cup, I stopped trying to drink that shake because it was just awful. I love ice cream and I love milk shakes and what I received was no shake. It was years between my last visit and probably will be years before my next visit… so long steak n shake… so long

This was our weekly spot for years when we were still in school. I never really paid much attention as to how long it took to get our food or anything. Why? Because there was always SOMANY of us. Sometimes we took up nearly the entire restaurant. So of course, it was only natural that it would take a good minute before we received our food. We were always in good company though, so the time went by fast. We quickly became regulars, with our usuals, so I can’t remember a time when my order has ever been messed up either. Came by last night and sure enough, our waitress was [still] there and remembered us. She got our orders, right down to the nitty gritty details for our pickiest eaters. The food always remains the same — no disappointment there. I recently discovered the Fanta float — ask for a root beer float, but with orange soda instead. It tastes heavenly, just like an orange creamsicle. Apparently, no one there had ever seen one, including the staff, but they all said it looked really good. and believe me, it was! Nostalgia was a fun trip that night. However, only 3 stars due to their 76 health inspection score. D:
