The menu had 2 chilis indicated next to my dish so I hoped it would actually be spicy; however, I didn’t find any spice in my dish and it did not even taste like Thai food at all. I had to ask for the spice tray to liven up the dish. Also I found it weird that miso soup came with Thai food as I would expect a Thai soup to come with Thai food. I was happy there were a lot of veggies in the dish and the meat was tender. I didn’t try the sushi so can’t comment on that. The server was prompt and kind. This is a huge restaurant. We both got sick after eating here so we are not interested in returning. There are much better Thai and sushi options in Atlanta if you drive just a little further and for a better price.

On Sundays they have a special Thai menu that’s cheaper and more authentic than the regular menu. We ordered couple suggested menu and it was delicious!

I was in here for lunch yesterday with my friend and had the lunch box which was excellent and also the coconut soup that came with it was great too! I also tried some of my friends Panang curry which was also very good(may order that one next time) The service I thought was great and fast so I gave a generous tip and I will definitely be coming back! I have to comment on Karen T.‘s review… I don’t understand your comment about horrible service if you are not Caucasian as I am not and I received great service… I did however notice an unruly child with an Asian couple that was disturbing us as well as others in the restaurant for a time during lunch, if that was you Karen T. I can understand maybe why you thought you didn’t get the best service.

Cool ambiance and decent food but horrible service if you are not Caucasian or if you come with a child. We were the only people that were in the restaurant that were both so I can’t tell why it was that our server was so nasty ONLY to us. The busboys, sushi chef, and runners are actually great. It is just the nasty girl at the front(Ann) that gave us a dirty look when we came in, snarled at us when we ordered, never bothered to check on us when we were there, and then went around and thanked everyone when she dropped off the check and picked it up EXCEPT for us where she just said«this is for you.» She didn’t even bother to acknowledge us when we left. This person bothered me so much because she was nice to everyone else aside from us so she was specifically being nasty to just us even though we didn’t do anything aside from coming in to eat. So congratulations Ann — you did a great job in making sure we knew that we were unwanted at your restaurant and we won’t be back. It is mean people like Ann that gives people a bad experience with an entire establishment. I would not recommend this restaurant if you had Ann treat you the way she treated us.

I was actually really surprised by this restaurant. From the exterior I didn’t really expect much, but the interior is a whole different world. They’re sushi rolls were actually really good for the prices. The service was prompt, so no complaints here. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because I know that there is better sushi in Atlanta. But that’s not to say that thaicoon’s sushi isn’t good!

My Thai girlfriend took me to this restaurant on a Sunday and we are from the special authentic Sunday Thai Menu. They only cook these traditional Thai dishes on Sundays. It’s like their specisl secret menu. We came in a group of seven girls so we ordered a lot of different dishes and shared. I loved every single one of them. The taste was savoring and it was all eye candy. I want to take my husband on a Sunday now and I want to try their regular menu too. The servers are super nice! I highly recommend this restaurant. This is my new favorite Thai Restaurant in Atlanta!

I love the sushi here. It is presented very neat and never failed to disappoint. The green curry was delicious, and there was so much! A very pleasant dining experience, and one of my favorite places in Marietta.

Thaicoon is more than just a clever play on word-sounds. For years they’ve served up a good offering of Thai and Sushi. They’ve become a relative cornerstone of the dining scene in their area. And the food is reliably good. I had the«Fried Gift Bags,» a crab-rangoon-type of creation which is filled into deep-fried spring-roll pastry. Good stuff. My Pad Thai was decent. And as we lingered and talked, my «dessert» sushi rolls were just fine. As I said, reliably good. A-OK, to borrow a phrase. Plus, Thaicoon is accommodating of very large groups. This does make for some chaos, but it’s nothing staff here can’t manage well. I’ll definitely be going back. Holler if you’re coming with!

I love this restaurant! Been coming here since 2009. Always clean and the food is always good and consistent. I’m totally a local celebrity here and get great service every time I come. They have the best sushi and Thai in atlanta hands down. I’ve been to many sushi and thai places in atlanta and the only place that’s competition is Fujihana in kennesaw. Nothing but great things to say about thaicoon, the staff has been witness to both of my pregnancies and gave caved to me wanting sushi against doctors orders lol I love these guys!

Thaicoon is just another mediocre Thai restaurant in the Emory area. They also serve sushi(jack of all trades?) but I haven’t had anything on that side of the menu. My most recent visit was on a weekday evening. We had a large party(10) and they were very accommodating. The service was spectacular. Water was refilled every time I turned my head and the meals were served promptly for such a large party. The food itself is nothing special. I ordered the chicken red curry, which is one of my go to dishes at Thai restaurants. The curry was rich but only very mildly spicy(the menu showed 2 chili peppers, so I thought it would have been spicier). Some of the vegetables were under cooked, especially the eggplant. Still quite delicious though. There was also an ample portion of curry. The rice however, was very skimpy. I don’t understand why so many restaurants only supply a couple spoonfuls of rice with these sort of meals. The curry to rice ratio was way off. It’s like getting a bowl of pasta sauce with only a couple noodles.

Love their coconut soup, all kinds of curry, and my favorite is their drunken noodle ! I work at the CDC so I love having a great Thai and sushi place around the corner — their rice and noodle lunch specials are under 10 $ for the perfect portion ! I come at least once a week.

I love the sushi here. So many different types of rolls. The fish seems super fresh. I love salmon sashimi and it is always perfect… like butter! I would love some more rolls with more raw fish… most are smoked or tempura… but they are still all good. I used to come here years ago and recently tried it again. They redid the entire inside and it is more open and modern. Definitely going to be a regular sushi place!

A group of friends and I went here on Saturday night. Out group of eleven was able to be seated right away(with a prior warning call to the restaurant). The variety of Thai and sushi dishes was good – more on the Thai side and basic sushi options. My favorites were the calamari appetizer and spicy catfish entrée. Both were very tasty. And, yes they have Thai beer! Service was friendly and efficientl. I really like how they welcomed our group and made us feel at home. I will definitely be back!

Home of my favorite Bagel Roll… ever. The Tom Kha Kai is good too. But I love sushi so that’s what I usually order. The sushi offering is decent, and you’ve got a good variety to choose from on the menu. The prices are pretty reasonable here. And it’s near Emory, so it’s a good lunch spot for those in the area.

I go HAM here every other Monday! Not sure if it’s the $ 2 sushi rolls or all the energy I soak up from the amazing wait staff, but I love it. Here’s the perfect order(take notes): Ginger salad: great dressing but way too many cucumbers.(4⁄5) Miso soup: salty just like I like it.(5⁄5) Bagel Roll: steamy, crunchy explosion of pleasurable flavor in my mouth.(5⁄5) Vegetable roll: ultimate pallette(sp?) cleanser.(3.7÷5) Spicy Tuna Roll: Who doesn’t like some spice in their life? Come to Daddy.(5⁄5) Crab Roll: Tastes like crab.(4⁄5) Treat yourself to a beer or glass of wine too! Will be back next Monday !

A fusion of Japanese and Thai. We only ordered Thai while my niece had the California roll. The rice was overcooked and mushy, so that was a bust. Where on Sundays, you are able to get authentic Thai«Street Foods!» I heard of Boat Noodles but never had them before. They are the only Thai restaurant that has them. Boat noodles is similar to phở but not as fragrant. The broth is more sweet and thick. It has meatballs, spinich, and tender brisket. It was pretty salty but they have a condiment which is made of a citrus sauce and garlic which cuts down on the sodium level. I added extra chili pepper to my broth to give it a kick. Be sure to order the beef jery! It is very tender and well seasoned and it comes with sticky rice. The prices are fair and the taste even better. I can’t wait to go back. Go for the Thai food and avoid the sushi!

I decided on having my birthday dinner party here and it was just perfect. I had originally planned for about 13 people, but the restaurant was great and accommodating when it shrank down to 8 due to some last minute plan changes. Our table ordered an array of different foods, so much that I can only remember what my part of the table had which were(in no particular order): –Spicy Tuna Salad: there were 2 orders of this and both plates were cleaned within minutes so this was definitely a great dish. I unfortunately couldn’t try it cause it contained crab meat. — Curry puffs: very yummy, and very light tasting considering it is deep fried. — Crispy duck rolls: my dinner mates liked this, but I found it ok compared to everything else — Rainbow supreme sushi roll: DELICIOUS. I had to pace myself to stop from eating it all The fish was very fresh tasting and the cream cheese didn’t overpower the delicateness of the white fish –Sushi for Two: an assortment of sushi. All very fresh and well made. I think that this is more than enough for 2 people, if you order any appetizers and desserts it could be for 3 – 4 people to share! –Chicken Panang curry: I made the mistake of ordering mild, it was very bland –Pad Kee Mao with beef: this was delicious and I had to keep reminding myself that this was not my dinner entrée and to save it for the one who ordered it –Sushi with lobster: sorry, I can’t remember the name /didn’t take a picture and I can’t find it on the menu. But this was ordered on the other side of the table and everyone raved about it. The service was wonderful! She did her best to juggle everyone’s order and you can tell the whole restaurant works as a team because other servers didn’t hesitate to check on us or bring us anything we requested. They didn’t even balk at requesting the check to be split between everyone. I know that a lot of people, including some of my guests, were a little worried about the exterior of the restaurant or the fact that most GPS’s will take you down a dark, back road leading up a steep hill. But the interior is bright, welcoming and very pottery barn comfy. The server disappeared with my cake when it when our meal was over, only to reappear with it completely lit up the candles. They even did a «parade» with it, accompanied by an employee with a GONG! It was very unexpected but we absolutely loved that after every line of Happy Birthday it was hit, the gong resonated throughout the restaurant and made the occasion even more memorable. We had grossly over-ordered(as usual) and were already full by the time the cake came out, had about ½ the cake left so I offered it to the staff. What really made the 4-stars for me, is that they were genuinely surprised and happy. These are really good people here. My friends were so happy with the experience that the first question out of their mouths when the night was over was, That was great! When are we coming back?

A beautifully decorated Thai restaurant close to Emory’s campus. It is a wonderful alternative to the nearby Top Spice chain, with a very similar dining experience. The atmosphere is great, perfect for a first date. I had the coconut soup($ 3.50) and Pad Kee Mao($ 11.95), both were good portions. The Pad Kee Mao was a bit dry and over cooked, but still quite enjoyable. The service was excellent, a step up from my nearby favorite Bangkok Thyme. However, in measures of flavor, it fails in comparison. Nonetheless, due to close proximity to my home and extremely sweet staff I will definitely be giving this hidden gem another chance.

So glad that I discovered this Thai/sushi joint less than five minutes away from my apartment. Don’t let the exterior fool you. Once I walked in, I was immediately impressed at the décor and size of the restaurant. Waitstaff are all extremely friendly. Their menu has pictures, which always helps! Their sushi is of great quality at a very decent price(at least coming from Boston!). I ordered a Thai iced tea, avocado salad, salmon skin roll, and the Hawaiian roll all under $ 25. The salmon skin roll was only $ 2 and was so crispy and fresh. Can’t wait to come back next time and try more of their menu!
