This is a very traditional dojo, and a great place to learn Shotokan in much the same way as the founder taught it. Sensei Chapman will push you in a very positive way, and is a very inspiring motivator. I’ve been there for about four years, and love it. This isn’t a belt factory or part of today’s mma fad. This is a place to learn an art that was created from centuries-old no-rules systems to protect farmers from brigands in life and death situations. This also isn’t a testosterone-filled boys club. It’s a great place for men, women, and children of all ages to all feel valued while advancing in their personal journey.
