I was back at Truffles — this time on a Saturday — and this time the place was hopping. Food was excellent. As always I get the Chipotle Chicken, but we took several people, a party of eight. Everyone enjoyed their food a lot. The appetizer to die for is the mushroom crostini, which is an amazing deal and super good. Erica was our waitress and she was a little overworked this night but super friendly and responsive. Everyone else at the restaurant was awesome, even changing the channel to a March Madness game. The best part about Truffles though? No corkage, so bring your friends and grab a bottle.

Came to Truffles Grill spontaneously since our original plans of going to the Westside were thwarted due to the traffic caused by the tornado. We could not think of any restaurants near Lenox except for Truffles. I’ve always passed this place thinking it must be tasty since it is named after the rare Truffle. We looked it up on Unilocal and it had a 3.5 star review and said, «Sure, why not?» After my dinner here, I would say it is a pretty solid 3.5 star restaurant. ATMOSPHERE3 Star «This seems boat-y,» were the first words out of my mouth after being seated. Turns out, the restaurant is modern Southern cuisine with inspiration from their restaurant based in Hilton Head. HA Got em! Pretty clean, lots of wood paneled walls and yellow leather booths with big lap shades dangling from the ceiling. The waiters are your typical sweet southern gentlemen. However, there were only a handful of other patrons in the rather large restaurant, but that could’ve been because of the crazy weather. SERVICE5 Star Great service. We were indecisive and Kyle our waiter was very patient and gave us plenty of time to think and helped answer questions. He would also follow up throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. Very courteous but also would participate in some conversation with us about Lucy Liu playing Watson in Elementary. FOOD3.5 Star Me and my friend ended up ordering sandwiches, and we split them. She ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich, and it was pretty tasty with the slaw on top. I ordered the portabella mushroom sandwich with roasted red peppers, brie, lettuce, onions, and pesto mayo. YUM. Lots of flavor in both sandwiches. Both were also dripping with flavor(and mess). Overall, the sandwiches here are pretty good, not sure how the other food would taste. However, it gets a 3.5 star since I’m not as excited about it to give it a 4 star, but the food honestly was pretty tasty, so I’ll bump it up to a 3.5. P. S. They only have valet parking, so bring small bills. [12 of 100]

Neat spot if you’re in the Lenox Mall or Buckhead area. The restaurant is very trendy with a hip little bar section. The happy hour is pretty fairly priced as well and the drinks are delicious. We asked our server to mix us up something and she made a delicious Pear Elderflower martini, and I would definitely try the Superfruit cooler, both quite tasty and refreshing. For apps, the crab cakes were decent and the brie in puff pastry was good with the apples but I would have preferred crackers instead of French bread. The coconut shrimp were fair as well, but the main menu is where I would concentrate. The menu is quite extensive and we all got different options to sample, but by far they know how to do pork. The pulled pork sandwich is well-seasoned with the chipotle BBQ sauce and the BBQ, Bacon, and Blue burger was cooked to medium perfection. We all agreed we could eat endless amounts of the sweet potato fries, they get them right! The service was exceptional and we were catered to by our server and the GM. At the end of our meal, he provided the Blondie desert on the house, and I was a cookie, butterscotch, ice-cream dream. Great experience… we will definitely be returning!

Based on other reviewer’s mostly positive comments, and the fact that I knew they offer wine tasting events, I decided to lunch here with three of my friends. We were all well satisfied with our luncheon experience. Our meals were: Chicken Pot Pie @ $ 12, with a side caesar sald for $ 4, glazed grouper w/smashed potatoes and steamed green bean @ $ 21, club sald @ $ 11, and grilled mahi mahi w/sides @ $ 16. Portions were very good: quality was very decent, and service was attentive. So, all in all, a very positive experience, and I’ll look forward to returning for the wine tastings. The food was not haut cuisine, and yet this would be a very good, basic restaurant to have in your neighborhood, for frequent return visits, lunch and/or dinner.

i read a lot of mix reviews for Truffles Grill. I don’t have anything bad to say, and it’s my third time coming back. We celebrated a friendly get together, a birthday party, and even a New Year’s pre-dinner here. The price is reasonable and just the same if you were to go to TGIF or Ruby Tuesday. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu: Mahi Mahi, meat loaf, baby back ribs, crab cakes, spinach dip, & grouper. I always order their ‘seared sesame tuna wonton’ starter though. Tuna is served rare over wasabe sauce, crispy wonton, & lettuce. The only dish that makes me come back.

For my birthday dinner with the family, I wanted to go someplace special but wouldn’t break the bank. I ultimately chose Truffles Grill because some of my friends seemed to have really enjoyed their food there. My brother called a few days ahead to make a reservation for six at 7:30 pm on a Friday. Parking here is mandatory valet, but it’s «complimentary» so bring a few dollars for tip! I was glad we didn’t have to pay a valet parking fee, but I was annoyed because I hate places that don’t allow self-parking. We arrived a little past 7:30 pm and were seated immediately. We quickly realized that there was no need for us to make a reservation at all. The place was super quiet with four or five tables of customers on a Friday evening!(1st red flag!) I had looked at the menu online, so I knew what I wanted. I had my heart set on the Filet, «a center cut, finished with organic butter and sea salt, served with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable.» Sounded delicious as I was craving a good steak, and I ordered it to be cooked to medium temperature. My younger sister ordered Coconut Shrimp as a starter for our family to share. Our server also told us she would bring us some complimentary bread, which we were excited about because we were pretty hungry. The Coconut Shrimp was served quickly, which was nice. However, we waited a WHILE for the bread that our server had promised to bring us. My dad also waited about 15 minutes for the Blue Moon Belgian White Ale he had ordered. We had to get the attention of another server and informed him that we still had not received the beer and bread. They told us that something was wrong with the beer machine but brought my dad his beer soon afterwards. When we finally got our bread, we noted that it was a little warm and was served with garlic butter. The bread and butter were good but it would have been so much better if it was warmer. It seemed like the bread was not fresh because it had probably been sitting out for a while. Boo. * Coconut Shrimp($ 9) — There are six pieces of coconut shrimp in an order, so each of us got to try one. It’s served with«apricot and honey mango sauces for dipping.» It was good but nothing special, and it was pretty pricey for just six pieces. Definitely not worth it to me. Now for the 2nd red flag… * Filet($ 26) — Since this was my birthday dinner(the actual day!), I had high expectations. Knowing that the filet mignon is the most tender and pricey cut of beef, I expected it to be small in size. I also fully anticipated that my filet would be cooked to medium as requested, which usually means it should have a nice pink center. When I cut into the meat, it was a warm red — closer to rare/medium-rare than medium. I don’t like my steak that rare, so I looked for my server(who didn’t come by) and finally told another server that my filet wasn’t cooked right. He called the manager so that he could check for himself. Sure enough, I was right! The manager took my plate away and said it should take a few minutes to cook a little longer. I sat and simply watched my family eat their entrees. A while later, I got my filet and sides back. As I cut into the filet, I saw that it was now almost well done. There was hardly any pink in it. Geez! You would think a restaurant like this would know how to cook a steak to MEDIUM temperature! When the manager came back to check on us, I told him that it was now cooked too well. All he did was apologize and blink at me like he didn’t know what to say or do to remediate the issue. It was astounding. I told him I would go ahead and eat it but wanted him to know that I was not satisfied. It now tasted kind of charred and wasn’t enjoyable. At least the garlic mashed potatoes and green beans that came with the filet were decent. Later, our server finally showed up and asked if I preferred lime, peanut butter, or chocolate. I told her chocolate. Soon afterwards, someone brought me a brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a lit candle since it was my birthday. This was nice, but it would have been nicer if the lady smiled as she placed it in front of me. She looked unhappy.(Note: They don’t sing to you, so don’t go in expecting that!) At least the birthday dessert was tasty. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the ridiculous amount of time it took for us to get the check and then finally have the payment processed. And there was no discount, comp of anything, or additional apology from the server or manager for the fact that the most expensive entrée we had ordered wasn’t cooked right! I was really annoyed by then and just wanted to leave, but they made that difficult. Ugh! Overall, Truffles Grill gets 2 stars for their«OK» but pricey food, but the service was terrible. I liked our server initially, but service quickly went downhill. I don’t see myself returning or recommending the place to anyone. [Review 229 of 366]

We went to truffles for dinner on a Saturday night. There was no wait to get in at about 7pm for two, which was awesome. The place was busy, but not packed. We were able to get in and out fairly quickly without any problems(we were trying to make a movie!). We both got items with crab cakes. I got a spinach salad with poppyseed dressing, pecans, apples and cheese with a crab cake on top. My husband just got the crab cakes. Both items were very good, and fairly reasonable as well. They also had several other options that looked delicious — we will have to keep it in mind for quick delicious dinners out again soon! They had several dessert options that sounded good(all the desserts are made in house), but we were too full! We will definitely have to come back again soon!

Truffles Grill is a great lunch or dinner spot across from Lenox mall. I’ve been here twice now and was impressed both times. On our last visit, we arrived for dinner without a reservation and were seated immediately. The service is quick and friendly. They have a good variety of food items, ranging from $ 8 – 10 up to $ 20 – 30. I had the crab cakes, which were delicious. They’re 100% crab meat and you can definitely tell there isn’t much filler. They were nicely pan-seared with a good crunch on the outside, but not overcooked. They are topped with a house-made wasabi sauce which was tasty but not very spicy. The sides were green beans and mashed potatoes which were solid but not interesting. Unfortunately it’s valet-only, but that’s par for the course in Buckhead. I’ll definitely be going back — there aren’t that many reasonably priced, quick, sit-down dinner options in the Buckhead area and this one fits the bill.

I went to dinner here the other night with my family– family as in Aunt, uncles, gram and cousin. The place was not crowded or busy on a Sunday evening dinner hour. Houston’s next door is usually crazy busy at this time of dayon a Sunday. One thing I did not care for is that there is no waiting area near the front door; however, there was plenty of space at the bar. Once all the family members arrived and were seated, the waitress took our drink orders. Soon after that bread was brought to the table. The bread was good and the garlic-chive butter that accompanied it was fantastic. The kitchen service was noticeably slow; it took at least 30 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. The food was very good /solid; however, nothing was outstanding or awe inspiring. All the folks in my party who ordered steak of some type(there are two or three varieties) stated that they enjoyed their meal. My starter was a salad composed of a lettuce wedge with the usual dressings /toppings: Blue cheese, bacon, & tomato. Not bad — but I have had better at at least a dozen other places. For my entrée, I ordered a New Orleans pasta dish with a spicy /creamy Alfredo sauce that was very good. It proved to be tasty and filling. The pasta was accompanied by cajun spiced boneless chicken breast; it was tasty but a little on the dry side. I discovered that swiping bite size cuts of chicken through the yummy pasta sauce remedied the problem rather nicely. I might return sometime in the future but I am in no hurry to do so — especially if I am in a hurry or trying to make a movie or show. Perhaps really deserves 3.5 stars but on this visit I will go with four.

Was at Piedmont visiting a friend who successfully underwent heart bypass. My wife and I decided to venture out for a «Lupper» Hey! you can have«Brunch» why not«Lupper». It was around 1:30. We ventured up to Lenox road and tried Truffles. Perfect timing! Only about 4 tables filled, a few folks at the bar, and one could actually turn left from Lenox into the parking lot! We were greeted and seated by a sweetheart of a hostess, then waiting on quickly by a good waiter. I had the Glazed Grouper with a Caesar salad, my wife had the grilled shrimp. The only odd item was the 30 minutes from order to delivery of the main course. Good thing was I wasn’t in a hurry. Another good thing was I want my white fish cooked correctly and most of all cooked. The only concern was what if this place was full??? Anyway back to the dish. One word, OUTSTANDING. The glazed Grouper was cooked perfectly, the mashed taters were real taters! Yummy! My wife’s shrimp dish was great and also perfectly done and seasoned where you could enjoy shrimp with a little diverse bite of seasoning. When it comes to Truffles I know when to go, I also know I will not be in a hurry when my dish is prepared this good. Can actually say it was the best fish dish I have had in quite a long while at a restaurant. Another good note was the manager thanked us for our business as we walked out the door. Good stuff. We will be back !!!

A group I volunteer for occasionally has planning meetings over dinner, and since we were tired of our normal spot(Gordon Biersch) we checked out Truffles Grill since it was around the same price point. It’s only 5 days since I visited, which means I can say with certainty that my experience was«forgettable». If it weren’t for the fact that this place has an interesting name, it would be one of those places I’d chime into a conversation with, «Oh yeah… I think I *have* been there… hmmm». When I arrived just a few minutes after 7pm, the host informed me, «You’re the last one to arrive». Gee, thanks. I really needed the reminder I’m running late today. When I sat down, it was clear this restaurant was not going to be conducive to a planning meeting. Most of the tables were full in the small-ish dining room, making for a mild roar from the dinner crowd. We were screaming over the noise. Someone at the table informed me that the fish was flown in every morning fresh, so that’s what I went with. Searching for a healthier option I went for a grouper with a basil and parmesan«glaze». The fish was fantastic, but the dish was not what I was expecting; the«glaze» was a creamy sauce that probably added 300 calories to the dish. They let me sub out the mashed potatoes for steamed broccoli with no qualms, always a plus. The high point of the meal for me was the super-berry cocktail, which was made with acai berry-flavored vodka, elder flower, cucumbers, and probably some other stuff. It was excellent and had just the right amount of alcohol to last me the entire meal. So for the fish and cocktail I ended up paying around $ 35. For what I got, I thought it was a fair price, but just didn’t want to spend that much and there weren’t many other cheaper options. Salads hovered around $ 10 without protein. We had an issue with our bill, and while one of my dining mates was not happy to be overcharged, I thought the staff handled the situation with grace. Overall, this would not be my first choice in the area, but it’s definitely a people-pleaser restaurant, with something for everyone on the menu. I’d probably only return if I had picky visitors staying in the area.

I gave it 4 stars because the hostess remembered that we had asked for a booth. I had asked for a booth over the phone since I was bringing my 2 month old baby. It may not seem like much, but it was just thoughtful of her so it made me happy. The atmosphere was very welcoming, very friendly and family oriented. I saw a lot of family gatherings that night for dinner. Here’s what we had for dinner: White Sangria with Mango — very light and yummy! Coconut shrimp with dipping sauce — fresh tasty shrimps! Rib-eye grill — to be honest, it tasted pretty boring to me. The meat was cooked right but the flavor was very mediocre. I wanted to love it with the organic butter and all but I felt like my quick 5 minute flank steak tasted better. It’s all in the seasoning… Glazed Grouper with truffle Mac & Cheese — so I managed to get my mashed potato switched so that I could have the frou frou truffle mac & cheese. It was delish! Very creamy but not too rich and you can definitely taste the truffle oil. My glazed grouper was cooked just right. I’m always fishy about ordering fish at any restaurants. They’re always overcooked, dry and boring. But Truffle got this perfected. I thoroughly enjoy being there so I’m definitely coming back to try their Chicken Pot Pie and Crispy Chicken! It looked amazing on other people’s table. LOL

Cool and casual place. Some days its really crowded. The booths are so comfy and cozy — good for those wintry days. The menu has a good mix of items — chicken, pasta dishes, fish and steak. I loved my first visit and went there a couple more times within a week. Their drinks are pretty good and strong as well. Of all the drinks I had there, I loved the Super fruit cooler which was so refreshing. They serve fresh bread with butter spread. One can really fill up on these. So beware. Fresh Mushroom Crostini — The bread was super crunchy on the outside and the mushroom with tomatoes was fresh. Glazed Grouper — The waitress who recommended this was spot on. Yummy with the basil parmesan glaze. The fish was light and very tasty. Baby Back Ribs — They were super tender and tasty. Cajun Tilapia — Good heat for the fish, corn salsa was the best along with crispy sweet potato fries. I heard that their dessert Blondie is very good. Wait for me blondie, I will be back. Will definitely visit this place the next time I am in Atlanta.

Dined here again this time for my sisters b-day dinner on a sunday night. We pretty much had the place to our selves, I’m guessing that most people are still shopping or saving their money to host their Christmas and New Year’s dinners. The server,(I’ll update with his name when I find my receipt!) was prompt and helpful about asking us on refills. And also the timing of when we finished our appetizers to bring out our entrée’s. His service was worth the extra tip I put in after the automatic gratuity of our party of 7. I would recommend asking for him on your visit. For drinks I tried their mixed berry sweet tea… well I think it was mixed sweet tea. It was pretty flat. The berries couldn’t give enough flavor to over come the flatness. So the server was kindly glad to swap out my drink for a raspberry sweet tea with out charging me. Now this drink was great. Just enough berry purée and sweetness in the tea to balance each other. I would order more but for $ 3.50 for each glass and no alcohol seems a far stretch for 3rds, 4ths. On starters I suggested my friends who came along to try the coconut shrimp, which they seemed some what iffy on. But I coaxed them into ordering stating that these are actually not too rich like other restaurants try to sell. Truffles stayed true this time as well. Seems they are consistent with that, +1. The other side of the table ordered the Seared Sesame Tuna Wonton which comes on a very BIG rectangular plate on top of a bed of salad. I’m not a fan of seared tuna so I can’t comment on that as I didn’t try it. But the salad that it was served on was great. I’m not sure if it’ was a ceaser salad as the dressing was a hint of sweetness with out the usual«ceaser» after taste. Wonton’s were light and crispy, no hint of an oily taste. The whole table of 7 was actually able to share this«appetizer». Dam, I want some more of that salad now. I should find out if this is their house salad and served with their salad entrees. I tried the chicken pot pie on my first visit but it was some what of a let down, as I continually had to add salt and pepper to give it flavor. The crust was excellent, crispy but still tender enough to mash into the chicken base/soup. This time I tried the Mahi-mahi. One of the best mahi-mahi’s I’ve had at a non-seafood restaurant. Juicy to the last bite, with just enough of a seared crust. The topping of pineapple salsa was ok, not a strong enough flavor to compliment but decent enough to try eating with the fish. The mash potatoes and green beans were very good portions for the included side dishes. Yet they were just average taste wise. Not bad, but not great. Pass the salt and pepper please. I would recommend for dining here for lunch(as I went for my first visit) and dinner. For the price you get a lot of good tasting food compared to the other restaurants in the Lenox /buck head area.

I went here for my line sister’s 21st birthday. It was my first time there, and I had a pretty good experience to go back. Reservations were made for 30 people, and the restaurant split us up into 4 tables with 6 – 8 people at each table. They were nice to hold the reservations for us, even though the birthday girl was over an hour late. My table went ahead and ordered. The spinach-artichoke dip is amazing! The chips are pretty salty, but that did not bother me. By far, the best spinach-artichoke dip I have eaten. Beats Applebee’s by far! lol. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta and it is definitely a large portion! The grilled chicken that came on top of the pasta was delicious. It was seasoned perfectly! I believe I had the best meal out of the table by far. My boyfriend ordered the Mahi Mahi, which is a type of fish I guess. He didn’t enjoy it too much, but overall, he was content. The sweet tea is not the good though lol. Stick to McDonalds $ 1 tea. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience there. It’s a very classy restaurant and I expect to return. :]

I went here last night w/25+ others for a birthday dinner. The food was amazing. The compliments were bread(not warm) w/spreadable garlic butter. My boyfriend and I ordered the crab cake($ 12) for an appetizer. For entrees, I got the salmon w/mashed potatoes and broccoli. The salmon was very tender and melted in my mouth. My boyfriend ordered the steak & fries. It came with McDonald-look alike fries and moist cole slaw served on a piece of lettuce. The steak was ordered medium rare and was very tender and juicy. He also ordered two charro negro(coke & jose cuervo) which was mixed very, very well. It definitely outdo Ruby Tuesday, which use to be here before Truffles took over the joint. The restaurant is dim, but elegant. I definitely look forward to visiting again and in the future. They have a very nice food and wine selection. Portions are decent(not too much like Cheesecake Factory, but not so small like the Spice Market in Downtown). Worth a try!

Came on Monday with 12 of my coworkers for lunch and they were able to seat us right away. Good start. Our waiter was friendly and VERY upbeat. He also had an assistant, which I was impressed by. Having 2 servers for a large party seems like a no-brainer but it still rarely happens. The food seemed a bit pricy, especially for lunch. I got the 14-oz rib eye steak($ 18) with mac & cheese and green beans. We waited at least a half hour before our food finally showed up… not happy. The portions looked bigger than we expected but didn’t taste as good as they looked. My «medium» steak was close to well-done and way over-seasoned and salty. The green beans were the exact opposite — almost raw and no flavor whatsoever. Mac & cheese, which I ordered because I saw it mentioned on here, comprised of overcooked pasta and average-tasting cheese in a presentation that resembled someone heating up leftovers from last night in a coffee cup. For a minute I assumed that everyone else enjoyed their meals, but I asked around and was quickly proven wrong. One or two of my coworkers had been here before and said it was good so perhaps this was just an off day for them.

I ordered the Salmon glazed with a BBQ sauce. It was«A-OK.» It’s definitely not a 4 star. It’s very typical food: burgers, fish, salads, etc. The wine we ordered was awesome! They have a great wine selection. The venue was pretty trendy and nice. I would definitely come back to drink and hang out again. But then again, if I’m already there drinking, I’d probably end up eating there again out of convenience.
