I’ve been here a couple times while visiting Jacksonville, and overall, I’ve enjoyed eating here. I’ve gotten raw oysters, tacos, calamari, scallops, and king crab. All very good. This last time however, we ordered the Key Lime cheesecake for dessert, and I was blown away. Best thing yet! Highly recommend!

The best oysters I have had since moving to Jacksonville. My wife went because they have a great special on oysters $ 5.99 before 7pm. I went in think it was going to be bland cheap oysters, was I wrong! great oysters and surprisingly great service… We also had the shrimp and grits entrée and the muscles they were great too! I have been to few of these places that have the oysters special and they end up being a complete waste of time but I must say this was not! I will be back and not just for the oysters

My fiancé and I go for the oyster specials on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fantastic prices, great food, very friendly staff — perfect date night on a budget. Try the smoked fish dip.

My first ever shrimp and grits! It was delicious and gigantic! Well worth the price and definitely enough to split between two people. We ordered two dozen oysters and a side of salmon dip that came with crackers and because i have a gluten allergy. the waiter offered us celery for 50 cents. The dip had hair in it(sad face). The server took it back and off the bill. The oyster was so cheap because of their Wednesday deal. It was fun to shuck our own oysters. Ambience was not great because cigarette smoke from other patrons kept spoiling my taste buds and experience. Also, its in a shopping mall plaza and the patio(more like sidewalk) is right in the parking lot curb. There’s no great view either. I believed the server and manager were very polite. The server seemed embarrassed about the hair in the dip. I still tipped her well. She did check on us a lot. In this case it was helpful.

This was an excellent experience. Lighting was a little dark but the aquariums made up for it. My husband was very impressed with the Corn Crab chowder. We each had the blackened fish plate with 2 sides and it came with hush puppies. The plate presentation was great, food was at the right temperature and we did not have to wait that long for it arrive. The spinach cake was really good! Drinks are reasonably priced. The kids Mac & Cheese was home made and my kids loved it. The service was really good. Overall, it was excellent! Will be going back real soon!

What the hell is wrong with you people? This place has 4 stars. I wouldn’t feed this food to my dog. First off, the gumbo isn’t gumbo at all. It is kidney bean out the can, not drained, with shrimp that weren’t fresh, no sausage. Not good. Not even close to gumbo I don’t know who told them it was. Second, we got the sautéed seafood something or another it comes in a big soup bowl. None of the seafood is sautéed it’s like a soup. It smelled funny taste funny shrimp wasn’t fresh as soon as I dipped the bread in there game over. Stomach turned and done. Gave us the wrong drink order. Salad was fine. Calamari not fresh. Embarrassing really What really pisses me off is I just spent $ 50+ and had to go next door and get a quesadilla. Didn’t refund a damn thing and even asked me to come back. Are you serious right now? Guess they know I’m not ever coming back so better stick me for that $ 24 why they can. Cheap lesson as far as I’m concerned. This part goes out to the morons 4 and 5 starring claiming it’s the best place at the beach… Take your simple ass east over to Sliders or the like, and learn s thing or two about good eating. I bet you feed your kids McDonald’s. Honestly people, your taste buds are on the bottom of your shoes

Came here on while on vacation with my BF. We loved the gumbo and the fish platters were decent. Service was a little on the slow side.

The Fish Company has the BEST daily special on oysters in Jacksonville. $ 5.99/dozen all day on Sundays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and 2 – 7 p.m. every other day of the week! The oysters are always good. They have a $ 4.00 Bites Menu which has some pretty tasty items on it. The mussels are very good and just enough to fill me up after 2 dozen raw oysters. The scallops on the appetizer menu are also very delicious. Service is usually good, except yesterday, April 22nd, when the server asked if we wanted all of our items out at once and then forgot our main items. Waited on her to check on us and bring us water but had to get the hostess to find her.

No Grouper now. It’s out of season so I can’t tell if I agree with the positive chatter on Unilocal about it. Awe…, shoot. If grouper is what you want call ahead, perhaps, to make sure it’s available. Anyhow, I had the fried oysters and a side of red beans and rice and my road partner had shrimp & sausage on red beans and rice. We both agreed the red beans and rice is not New Orleans style at all and you’ll be disappointed like we were if this is your expectations. Chef Paul Prudhomme would be embarrassed by the rendition of this dish, for sure. Nevertheless, the 12 fried oysters were excellent and so was the shrimp and sausage, I am told. A glass of decent white wine was $ 5 and the pour was good not skimpy. Based on our 2 meals, I can not give it a 4 rating, more like a 3.5 really. Happy hour starts a 2PM. Then the price of a doz oysters on the half shell is cut rate, a real bargain. We were to early for HH. This establishment is in a strip mall before you get to all the touristy shops closer to the beach. There are a few tables outside. There were 2 tables outside that was occupied but it was a little to cool today for us.

Great service, prices and food every visit. The Oysters are fresh and huge. We miss the owner’s Saturday afternoon Crab BOGO but the food is fresh and cooked right every time. With the attitude, high prices and poor service at Sliders and North Beach Fish Camp, why would you go anywhere but Fish Co?

Six of us dined last night as a second choice restaurant. The first choice was literally mobbed. We had maybe a half hour wait on a Saturday night which wasn’t bad. There was a comfy waiting area. Dining was unhurried and relaxing. Service was prompt and courteous. We tried a bunch of things. The oysters both raw and steamed were fresh and flavorful. The crab savannah soup was hot, a bit spicy, and creamy. The salmon was fresh and moist. The smoked fish appy was great but I thought the calamari was too heavily breaded and greasy. I had the blackened mahi tacos. I thought they were fairly flavorless. All things considered, it’s worth checking out considering the nice ambiance, service, and food quality.

Ok… we came for the Stone Crab and ordered 2# for two of us($ 25 ea.). They came out already cracked(thank goodness) with a nice light mustard dipping sauce. We ordered a baked potato for another $ 3 ea and they gave us a free drink each for checking in on Unilocal! What a nice anniversary dinner. We’ll be back for the oyster special.

Visiting Jacksonville we were heading for a neighboring restaurant when we saw The Fish Company and I pulled up the reviews and menu! Thank you neon sign inventor!!! We began with the smoked fish dip– amazing!!! The soup of the day was Crab Savannah which was a super rich bisque and just heavenly. The side salad was so fresh it is even worth a mention and they make their dressings. C had the fresh grouper and the portion was huge and tasty. The trio of sauces in which they bring to the table was a good great addition. The spinach cake was a unique side served with a delicious sauce. The broccoli and cheese also was the best ever!!! Not your average cheese whiz but a delicious cheese blend! My sesame seared tuna rocked the entrees and was not only perfectly cooked but accompanied by a amazing ginger wasabi sauce. It was served on a dazzling bed of flash fried spinach– one of my favorites. Nice draft selections and wine selection. Ordered the key lime cheesecake to go and can’t wait to try it. Ask for Justin — he delivered fantastic service and offers a great, quirky personality with a warm smile!

This review is overdue so here it is… I had heard beforehand that this place had $ 5.99 oysters all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Wow really? I could never find the time to go until the opportunity presented itself. A foodie friend of mine that I’d met from going to the Suns games wanted some good seafood before heading back to the other side of the country and asked about getting some oysters. I mentioned this place and their special and he was totally sold. So on a Wednesday night, we ventured to the beach. I’m not sure if we got there early or late, but it didn’t seem that busy which was great for us. We were greeted and seated in the back room near the fish tank. We already knew that we wanted the oysters, it was just a matter of how many we could eat. So we both started off with a dozen each. I let him go first to see if he’d like them and he LOVED them, so much he tried different combinations of condiments on top of them. I enjoyed them with and without anything. I do like the briny taste, like it’s straight from the sea. We shared an appetizer, the Seared Sea Scallops. He liked them and for me, while they weren’t the best scallops I’ve have had in Jax they were still very good. For entrees, he had the Ahi Tuna Salad and I had the Mayport Shrimp N’ Grits. Be forewarned, the bowl that the shrimp n grits comes in is HUUUGE! It’s enough for several meals so come hungry. I love that they top it with cheese. That’s something I haven’t seen before and in my opinion one of the best ways to eat grits. I couldn’t eat it all and my friend took a couple spoonfuls to help me. I didn’t get to taste his entrée which was fine but he loved it. He was telling me how unhappy he was when ordering ahi from other cities and it would be cooked all the way through. That’s a no-no. He happily ate the huge salad. I saw the little menu on the table and saw the«$ 4.00 bites» and«Ceviche Spoons» listing. The one that immediately jumped out at me was the Shrimp and Octopus Ceviche. I pointed it out to my friend and he was all for it. Oh my god we were amazed! Not only was the presentation gorgeous the taste was phenomenal! The citrus-y juice of orange and lime was totally unexpected. They were served with corn nuts which my friend had never had before. He tried one and liking it, he ate the rest while I just laughed. For dessert, we had 2 dozen oysters each hahaha. Man, they were good. Our server Cat was awesome and friendly. My friend kept saying, «I wish I’d known about this place sooner». I’m glad he was able to experience some of our local flavor. Hopefully he’ll be back next year as he’s already stated, «If there’s a day game or a cancelled game we gotta come back here.» I’m down for that.

We’ve heard about this place more than a few times from a reliable foodie, so we decided to stop by on a whim. I love the vibe of the restaurant, it’s a oyster bar before anything else but there’s not a overwhelming fish smell. Our waiter was amazing, and a little high on life… But he was very knowledgeable of the menu, all the way to the wines and miscellaneous items. I ordered the salmon, with a spinach cake and broccoli w/cheddar sauce… It was great! The salmon had this key lime butter drizzled over it and was perfectly cooked, the broccoli and cheese was great and the spinach cake was pleasantly amazing! My mom ordered the pasta… Forgot the name of it with a side of the green bean melody. She enjoyed her food as well but wasn’t too happy with the portion size. Overall it was great, not enough to take home but I was okay with that. If you’re near the beaches and you love oysters and good service, then I recommend this place. Happy Unilocaling…
