This is what a 5-star dining experience should be: top-notch, friendly service accompanied by stellar food. I had the fish taco’s, blackened, which came with a sauce and it was all incredibly delicious and a good quantity. They offered to bring me some french fries too, at no extra charge. My wife got the shrimp and grits and said it the best she’d ever had, and it was so rich and filling that she had trouble finishing it. We would have enjoyed dessert but were too full. The waitress was polite, patient, pleasant and very helpful. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant!

5 of us dined upstairs. The food was so good and fresh! Talked with the fisherman who caught the fish in the cooler when you check in. The oysters on the half shell were plump, crisp and yummy!!! Everybody loved their meal. Service was prompt, but servers not very friendly. That’s why the rating is a four instead of five.

I came back here twice this week while visiting, and also ate at their palm valley fish camp…3 times in one week! This place is outstanding! Service was great but the food is the star. I recommend and had these dishes… seafood linguine, whole fried fish, collards(I’m mentioning this because west coasters don’t typically do collards… I’m a FAN now), wedge iceberg was cold and crisp! I’d love for this location to step it up a notch in the dessert category because palm is killing it with the desserts. Well done north beach!

Only a few miles from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and a great place to unwind and enjoy life. We sat outside on the patio on a gorgeous afternoon and had some of the best dishes of their kind anywhere. Fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever had. Shrimp and grits were among my top three ever. We also shared a perfectly prepared blackened mahi filet, crisp on the outside, flaky on the inside, under its nap of delectable creamy sauce, laid on top of a bed of exceptional white grits, alongside a pile of amazing collard greens. I usually don’t even like collard greens, but these were delicious! We also shared a special appetizer of fried snapper with crispy shoestring potatoes. Portions were generous, so I can’t believe we cleaned our plates. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. We took a walk at sunset on the beach afterward, which is just a block away. This find was such a joy that it almost made me want to move to Neptune Beach, a laid-back beach community that is just the right amount of cute.

Tonight I decided to treat myself to some good seafood before heading back to the Midwest. I just happened to walk into this place because the menu on the window looked good, and it was busy. I’m glad I did. I sat down at the bar and ordered the blackened mahi mahi(I was informed this is their most ordered dish). It was served with grits and collard greens. First, I’m not a grits fan, I didn’t grow up with them, but I was told these were different… and they were. They were creamy and flavorful and delicious. The collards were also amazing, the fish was tender and flaky and had a nice seasoning. All I can say is, I would recommend this place, but in particular, I would order this very dish, if the components sound good to you. It was served and I ate it all, and was completely satisfied, with a reasonable price of 24 bucks. Do it!

Visiting friends in Jax and this was their suggestion. Early(6:30p) dinner on a Sunday night. Our server was great, the place has a nice if a bit noisy vibe. We shared the calamari appetizer and wished we’d ordered two! One of our group had shrimp and grits, another broiled seafood platter, another the skillet seared trout and I had the fried shrimp platter. All were excellent! Portions are huge(the standard for restaurants these days) but we persevered. Prices reasonable. Highly recommended!

Owned by the same chef as marker 32, Palm valley fish camp(another favorite of mine), and safe harbour. Really good grilled shrimp, dare I say it best in Jax! Flavoring, spices were really tasty. Large Greek salad was a good entrée size. Loved the side of vegetables(yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms and onions) it was drenched in butter which is why it’s so tasty! Spinach side was good too. My dad got the fish tacos blackened which he said were good but not as good as the ones from Pacific Catch in California. Huge french fries!

Great atmosphere and vibe. This is THE Beachside restaurant that I will continue to go to when I visit Jax. The menu was great, and not outside of my price range. Our server was fun, and energetic, and he made our visit must more enjoyable. I grabbed a local brew they had on tap, a dark espresso stout, and the Pan Fried Trout with new potatoes, and a deviled egg sauce. I have never had a better trout dish. I could eat that every day of my life. My friends got the Low Boil for 2, which looked amazing, and they said that it tasted as great as it looked. I love seafood and fish, and can’t wait to give this place a try again.

This is my first time here and I will come back and if better I will update my review. First the food is amazing and the portion sizes are huge. The only reason it is not 5 stars was the service. I decided to sit at the bar so I would not take a table for 1 person during a busy lunch hour. The bar tender seemed a little irritated that I was not drinking. When I was ready to order I had to flag him down. I watched him take time to explain off menu brunch items to others(after I ordered my meal). I felt more of an inconvenience to him than a paying customer. After hearing so many amazing things I was prepared for better. I will come back because the food was that great. With better service this will be 5 stars. I would also like to say sitting at the bar my water was never refilled and it took 15 minutes to get my check.

Wow! This was the most crowded restaurant in the area and I now know why. Great atmosphere and great food. I had the Broiled Seafood Platter and loved it! I don’t think you can go wrong with anything. If you can find a parking spot it’s worth the wait.

There is nothing better in the beach area. This third time was the best. Food, service, quality, ambience, cleanliness, deliciousness… Ahhh… Perfection — almost… The hostesses never seen very hospitable… But the bartenders, servers, even food runners and busers are great. Order the pork chops(Yes… in a fish restaurant!), or the generous tasty hunks of mahi-mahi(any style), Shrimp ‘n Grits to die for… and when the salted-cashew-carmel cheesecake gets back on the menu, I’m ordering ALLOFIT!

Solid seafood at the beach! I would definitely recommend the crab cakes and the calamari, but the conch fritters were so-so. It also has a cool vibe and good service. I would have tried one of the desserts but the main course portions were so large!

I’ve only been to this place once, but many many times to the other sister restaurants(Palm Valley Fish Camp, Julington Creek Fish Camp, Marker 32). When I came to this location, I had the beet salad and catch of the day blackened. Wonderful! I can’t recommend highly enough.

North Beach Fish Camp and its sister restaurants are terrific. They continue to update their offerings with fresh choices while maintaining classic southern and coastal recipes. NBFC has a terrific bar that refines their own drink recipes like the Old Fashioned and Pimm’s Cup. The Old Fashion was garnished with an orange peel and blueberries, and had a touch of brown sugar(for added sweetness) that I could have done without, but overall a good and potent drink. The Fish Camp Pimm’s Cup is a terrific summer cocktail. NFBC uses a classic version of this nearly 200 year old recipe that includes gin. To lessen the alcohol order it without the gin, and you’ll retain all the flavor. Next time I’m going to substitute ginger ale for the Sprite. We started off with the New England clam chowder(they also have a Manhattan clam chowder). The chowder tasted excellent. Only concern(can’t even say it was a complaint) was that the chowder could have been hotter. I enjoyed every bit of mine right away, while the other diner had theirs replaced with a fresh hot cup. We enjoyed two entrees: the pan seared flounder with red beans & rice, and mahi mahi with greens. It goes without saying that NBFC uses only premium fish selections. If you like that fish, you’ll love it here. But I can’t say enough about how the accompanying dishes were suited perfectly to the fish. Everything on our plates was seasoned perfectly to bring out the full flavor of the meal.

5 stars for our waiter, Daryl!!! The meal was delicious. I had the salmon, red potatoes, and grits.(It was carb day) I also tried a bite of their shrimp and grits and was equally pleased! I would definitely recommend it all! It was a little crowded, but for a Friday night, they did manage to get us seated fairly quickly. This was my first time at this restaurant, and while yes, you do plan on having a tasty meal, it’s not the same if your service isn’t great. Our waiter was AMAZING. I loved him. He had the menu and specials memorized to a ‘T’! Very charismatic. I would visit again just to have him! Overall, yummy food and fantastic waiter! We will be visiting again!

I was at a wedding in Jacksonville, Florida, and looking for lunch when I stumbled into this seafood restaurant along the beach. There are a few vegetarian items, but nothing too surprising: North Beach Fish Camp is mostly fish, meat, and the various dishes that accompany those proteins. I stopped in for lunch with two fellow wedding goers on a whim because it was near the wedding venue. I ordered a plate of bread chips and pimento cheese, a beet and feta salad, and a side of grilled vegetables. The pimento cheese was fantastic. It came with freshly sliced jalapenos inside, which really added some interesting flavors when combined with the creaminess of the cheese. The beet salad was very dense and filling. I preferred the golden beets more than the red beets. I had to eat each bite of beet with a bite of cheese, though, because the beets have very powerful flavor. As for the side of grilled vegetables, that was probably the biggest mistake of that wedding weekend. They were soggy, and I also ordered the large bowl. We can all have regrets, right? I probably won’t return if I’m visiting the Jacksonville area just because of how many restaurants there are along the coast, but I’ll swing by if I’m looking for nice salads and appetizers.

Delicious Amazing fried fish! We ordered the calamari and conch fritters and they were delicious. Cold beer was great with all the delicious fish. All our other meals came out quickly and were equally as delicious. Buttermilk fried chicken, fried fish and clam linguine were all perfectly cooked. Can’t wait to come back and order more!

I was in town just briefly. I’m a travel nurse, and I was meeting my recruiter for the first time. She suggested this place for lunch, and I’m glad she did. There’s nothing special about the décor or seating, hence the four stars. But the staff were friendly and the food was exceptional. We shared the fried clams appetizer — light breading and tender clams(not overcooked or chewy). It came with tarter sauce, and I got cocktail sauce to make it even tastier. My friend got shrimp and grits with a side of collared greens — her favorites, as a life-long Southern gal. I’d never had collared greens before and didn’t care for them, but she says they’re the best she’s ever had, so take that for what it’s worth. She says the same about their shrimp and grits. I haven’t tried grits too many times but have never had them creamy. I expected not to like these, but, wow, they were delicious, especially combined with that sweet, tender shrimp. I had the yellowfin(ahi) tuna. I’m originally from Hawai’i. My dad used to buy ahi fresh from the dock in the morning and fly home to the mainland where we’d have it for dinner that night. This was a close comparison. Really, it was prepared like something you’d find in a posh restaurant. The outside was seasoned lightly and seared, so there was plenty rare left on the inside. It was served with some Asian sauces and an Asian-inspired salad, both of which were ideal with the fish. I had this with the sole Syrah(red wine) on the menu, and it’s a lovely pairing. For dessert, I had the key lime pie — made with real key limes. I love that it was neither overly tart nor sweet, as some can be. The real whipped cream and graham cracker crust enveloped it perfectly. I’m not sure I’ll ever have a chance to eat here again, but I’m happy to have enjoyed it once!

We came here on Christmas eve, walked in and got a table straight away. We sat outside on patio which was nice, except for the smokers who came out of the restaurant to light up and stood right by us. Yuk. We had the ceviche to start and it was so delicious and fresh that we were all fighting for the last bite. I had the crab cake entrée. I found a couple pieces of shell which I like because it lets me know that I am eating real crab and not imitation. The other diners had the ahi tuna and the seafood pasta which they both enjoyed. Before dinner I ordered the Pimm’s Cup cocktail. It was great and I would have had two if I hadn’t had to drive.
