Really good sushi and very friendly service! Love this place! I got the medium sashimi and the quality was very good. Ms. Domingo is an awesome lady!

I love sashimi and TAMA’s has the freshest of the fresh. Not only is the food fantastic, but the staff are so friendly and nice. This is the only sushi place I trust for raw seafood. I’ve tried everything on the menu and wow. For the colder days, try some Udon noodle soup. Not in the mood for sushi, the yakisoba noodles are delish. The tempura is light and fluffy, and you just wish you had another banana. I highly recommend TAMA’s and so does my 3 year old.

Tama’s sushi is great but limited choice. Limited seating so come early. Sauces are wonderful. Parking is a headache. No lunch, dammit.

Tama and his team have been slicing up the best fish for years. He may not know what Unilocal is, but he deserves 5 stars for simple awesome sushi. These guys are like family and you wont ever be disappointed.

Tama’s is by far my favorite sushi spot and has been for well over 10 years. Tama, his wife, and the other ladies are awesome, they are very friendly and always making me laugh. I usually order the Matilda Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. As a bonus they have the BEST ginger dressing around.

We are beach locals and have been coming to Tama’s for years. This is our go-to sushi place and it is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and the service is always great. Whether you sit at a table or up at the sushi bar, you will have a great experience!

Yummmmy! The sushi here is amazing & the fish is FRESH! Coming from south Florida with a million great sushi places, this is the only sushi place in Jacksonville that can compare! My husband & I go here or take out at least once a week from here! The prices here are great and the staff and sushi chefs are so Nice! I highly recommend this place! & it’s also pretty awesome because it’s across the street from the ocean! Great for date night!

Ingredients are fresh, & the chef is an expert at what he does. The wait staff is so courteous & friendly. You’d be missing out if you don’t try this place.

Their sushi selection is small, but it’s really delicious. I always feel bad that this place doesn’t have more business because it’s really good sushi. Not the best place to go solo as I did feel like a sub-par visitor going alone.

Haaahaha! I’m laughing about a review written below that says that the spicy tuna roll is not authentic. The illiterati strike again. Actually the bad reviews made me go here because the described how sushi is supposed to be! The chef is the only Japanese chef in the area. He makes the bullish! t volcanicdinospider rolls for the knuckleheads but his actual sushi is pretty good. The rice is pretty good and the fish is fresh. The kitchen food is not that great, but it’s decent. Not to write my résumé but I lived in Japan for years and my wife is Japanese. I know sushi, and this is not fantastic, but it’s pretty good for the area. Worth the drive. 3.5 stars

My husband and I went last night for dinner. We showed up around 6 and the place quickly filled with people — all who the waitresses seemed to know. We ordered the chicken Yakisoba and four rolls — spicy tuna, the dragon roll, New Orleans roll, and something called the Matilda which was tofu and avocado with sriracha and eel sauce. We both liked all of them. The chicken Yakisoba was good but we didn’t eat much of it because of how much sushi we ordered. We will definitely be going back to eat again! I wish parking was easier to find though.

This place was okay. The inside is small and cute and when your walking to it from where you parked there are tons of other food places around. The rolls are cheap and that’s for a reason. They were just basic rolls. There was nothing special about them. None of them even came with sauces on top or anything. The nigiri sushi was alright. I’ve heard this place is great and has such fresh fish but to me it was like buying sushi from a grocery store. Wait, the sushi at the grocery stores are better than this because they actually have sushi that’s unique and with flavor! I dipped all of my rolls in soy sauce and coated it with wasabi. Otherwise, they would have been dry and tasteless. Been to better places. Don’t waste your money here. We will keep looking for unique places.

The staff was very friendly and seemed to care about our comfort. We were given a complementary bowl of soup to start with which was very light and tasty. We had edamame, three rolls and four pieces of sashimi. The rolls were a good size and this was plenty of food for the two of us. As we ate, the restaurant filled up so it’s no secret that this is a good place for sushi. The only thing I didn’t like was the loud TV playing behind the sushi bar.

I stepped into a time warp. It’s 1987 and I’m eating sushi with my Mom in Larchmont; our Wednesday night tradition. Love the basic menu of tempura, udon, and sushi. Sushi is available by piece no crazy dinner boxes. So you get to choose what you really like. Clear soup and green tea were clutch especially on a cool damp night. The service was wonderful, everyone was lovely. Sushi rice was really good and the pieces I ordered melted in your mouth. The rolls were awful, messy, dry, and hardly had any fish. The sashimi was worse all filler fish and many of the pieces tasted frozen and the coloring was off. Really disappointing. Wish I stuck with the sushi pieces… Would have been a totally different review.

So I heard about Tama’s from a friend and gave it a try. Started with a wonderful Miso soup(I am normally not a fan) and salad. Then a plateful of sushi my son and I devoured. We loved loved loved the Sweet Potato Roll. We loved loved the Shrimp Tempura Roll. The rest of the sushi was really good, I just cannot remember what we had. Parking in this area is notoriously awful, but normally you can find a spot if you are willing to walk a few blocks.

This is HANDSDOWNTHE best sushi here in Jacksonville Beach! Everything on their menu is made with perfection. The place is kind of small and usally busy in the evenings but well worth the wait. If you are a sushi fan this is a must try!

Hubby and I went to Tama for date night. Had sushi made to order from their checklist. Minus cream cheese, of course. Had a few sake’s to go along with sushi. ‘Ippai yakka?’ as my mom would say. Yes, always busy, but always great service with a smile. And the HOT green tea makes it all worthwhile.
