Island Girl Cigar Bar

Tonight I met a couple of great friends here for the first time to visit. This place is great! It’s small but not in a claustrophobic type of way it’s very comfy and quaint. There’s plenty of seating and a very nice sized walk in humidor. Sometimes I have been to cigar bars and it’s so dingy and smoky I thought it was quite the opposite even my mentioned that and how good it even smelled! It was very clean and nicely decorated in a nautical theme. The waitress was very sweet and very quick at bringing our drinks. The only draw back is no actual liquor beer and wine only. I love a good whiskey with my cigar but no bueno! I would how ever still pop in to kick back in the comfy chairs and mingle with a glass of wine… Mine tonight was a nice Pinot and I enjoyed it very much. I had good times tonight and will be back again soon for more!

Great atmosphere for a cigar bar, with an excellent beer selection. They only serve beer/​wine (no liquor), but the Green Room Count Shak-​u-​la Stout (local brew) goes well with a good cigar. Drinks are well priced. A well-​stocked humidor (a purveyor of Opus X), but I recommend bringing your own cigar and enjoying the drinks and good company.

I love this place! Great drinks a large selection of boutique cigars, and the staff is really friendly. When I’m in Neptune Beach this is where you can find me.

Really nice atmosphere, upscale, nice selection of cigars, overall a great place to hang out and have a smoke. Only reason I’m giving them 3 stars… No liquor!
Sorry, but I need a glass of bourbon (or 3) to fully enjoy a cigar. If your fine with beer and wine, then this is a 5 star place.

Cool place. Good drink prices. House wine is $ 4 & dollar off microbrews on Thursdays. 4 drinks and our tab was only $ 17. I’m not a smoker but both my husband & I couldn’t last more then an hour. Other then the smokiness it was very comfortable & relaxing. Couches are comfy!

Love this place. They r always so helpful. Cigars and beer so no complaints here. Very chill dark atmosphere. Not smokey at all which is a huge plus. Right by the beach and in a good food area for the beaches. This place is a win.

My home away from home. I come here almost everyday to have a smoke and relax. Opens at 1 pm during the work week. It’s the perfect place to sit, get some work done on the net, maybe watch the game and grab a cold one. Big comfy couches and the best bar staff in Jacksonville. Christen, Shauna, Ashley, Jessica, Shelby and Krista.
Gets younger and more crowded at nights with live music some nights. Perfect place to have a beer and catch up with my daughter. Of course I am on my way home and she is heading out for the evening.

What a great place to relax and unwind. I was in the Jax area for work and found Island Girl via Unilocal.Decided to check it out and man am I ever glad that I did! Great prices on cigars, good draft beer selection with several local brews on tap. One of the nights I came they were having an event with Fat Tire featuring their signature beer and some cool swag from Fat Tire.
Rick and Joyce (the owners) were at the event and I got the pleasure of talking with them that night. I can see why this place is so great, these two really care about the customers and their employees. It shows in how happy the employees are and how the customer is treated. Real class acts!
As much as I would normally dread having to come to Jax for work, I can now look forward to it just to come to Island Girl Cigar to get some serious relaxing done!

I love stopping at any Island Girl location in Jax when I happen to be in town. No liquor at this location was a let down, so I could only sit and keep my allergies in check while the boys enjoyed their cigars. I have a peeve about being reminded what time it is in relation to closing time. It makes me want to ask if they really want me there or not. Unsure if this was because some locals were smoking something better fitted for their living rooms, but we had no problems and our group quietly sat down at the bar hoping we’d get service. Had a fine time as always thanks to good company. Can’t wait to go back, just sorry I got that «let me fucking close already» vibe from the staff.

No liquor? That was my only complaint. Seriously, what cigar bar isn’t going to serve up a mojito, Scotch or whiskey? Me and my boy Swan were drinking beers all night, so it wasn’t a problem for us, but La Chica and her sister weren’t, so they were left with nothing to drink except hopes and dreams. LOL
Besides that, the place was small, or quant rather. Unlike the Island Girl we visted last year in Ponte Verda, it was a lot more intimate, and that’s not a problem. In fact, I might prefer this smaller locale to it’s Ponte Verda counterpart, to be honest.
The cigar selection, also much smaller than the other location, had all of the essential offerings, including the Drew Estate JAVA line, which is one of my favorite «quick» smokes.
Service was friendly as well. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Atlantic Beach.

Service was iffy but it was a Saturday night so it could be that they were just slammed. The cigar selection seemed decent and the alcohol selection was very good for a cigar joint. Decent layout, comfortable but as the night wore on it felt in some ways more a upscale sports bar than the type of place it was supposed to be. If I was in the area again, I would check it out but based on the pain in the ass parking, and the above observations, doubtful I’d go out of my way to visit again.

Average cigar shop in a great location. There’s a bar in the aft and usually a few folks enjoying the game and a beer while puffing on their selection from the humidor. Cigar prices are consistent with what you’ll pay pretty much anywhere.

Refined, relaxed and rarely crowded, Island Girl is a true hidden gem of the beaches! Although it’s located in Neptune Beach proper, an area generally heavy with foot traffic, this cigar bar somehow manages to duck away from the maddening crowd. Named after the owners’ sailboat, which they used to island hop the Bahamas, this little haven certainly transports it’s patrons to island time! No bright paint or cheesy music here though, just dim lighting and a cool, clean, adult feel.
Walk in and you’re instantly greeted with the fragant aroma of fine, fine cigars and polished wood. Plop down in a cushy, couchlike barstool and pick your poison. With 28 draft beers, a sizable wine selection, and thousands of cigar options from the Dominican, Nicaragua, and Honduras (Cubans are illegal), Island Girl’s got something for everyone — unless of course you want Purple Hooter Shooters or a Beyonce song, then you might need to locate the door, quick like!
Our bartender, Kristin, was beyond laid-​back and very knowledgeable yesterday, coolly describing the flavor profiles of numerous beers as she sparked up my friends cigar like a pro. I surveyed the cozy, calm, lounge and decided it would be an enlightened idea to bring a chess set and wile away a lazy afternoon here some rainy day. Oh, so serene! If you’re looking for a chilled out, grown-​up hangout, I’d recommend Island Girl Cigar Bar without question.

My absolute favorite place to get a drink in all of Jacksonville. No meatheads, no bums and rarely an idiot allowed inside. You’d be surprised at the beer selection, which is second only to Kickbacks and maybe Engine 15. Lots of standby beers joined by rotating selections from some great craft brewers like Cigar City, Southern Tier and Dogfish Head.
Just the kind of bar I like: quiet, relaxing and sophisticated.

Co-​owner Rick serves up cigars, draft beer and wine in Neptune Beach. Prices are reasonable and the regulars are friendly to out of towners.
Comfortable leather chairs complement the typical bar set up. A great place to relax with new friends.
I visit NAS Mayport on business and when I am in town I have found a new cigar home away from home.
