Good food but a RAT and awful service! We sat down on a Tuesday morning around 10am with our two little kids(10m and 3 ½ years), then waited about 20 minutes(not at all crowded) for a waitress to come by, and only after I asked. The food was tasty, but the service was not even par. When I got the check we were charged for small items that were listed as included on the menu(i.e. Turkey bacon was extra even though my husband’s French toast deluxe supposedly came with meat), and when I asked the waitress she said«no.» As we were getting up to leave my husband spotted a rat scurrying around our feet(right next to the diaper bag!). The ladies behind us ran out of the restaurant but the servers did nothing and people kept coming in. It was awful! I don’t think I have ever written a bad review, and generally really like to write nice things, but there is no way we will ever go back and I will shout from the rooftops that this place was awful.

This is an awesome little restaurant. It’s certainly one of AC’s hidden gems. The servers are all super friendly and provide excellent customer service! This is my new, favorite AC restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Farah was on-point with service and is hands down one of the best servers I’ve had in a very long time! The entire staff was super nice. They’re definitely the highlight and the overall reason this place stays so busy. Awesome menu, quality food, and great customer service

Skipped room service and came here during my stay this weekend. Excellent food and superb service. Cozy place just a few minutes from the casinos. Worth the walk.

Decent economical place to grab breakfast. Our service was great. Friendly staff and quick service. The food was good, we had pancakes and a Italian omelet, but nothing to write home about. The highlight was the service and thee fact that it was cheaper to have a full sit down breakfast here(including tip) that to get a muffin, bagel, and 2 coffees is Caesars!

It’s hard to complain with these prices and this service. Sure, there were a few hiccups in my experience here(really just one), but overall I was pleasantly surprised by how much enjoyed my time here. Serving a group of 9 people ain’t an easy task, and Maria’s managed to do quite the admirable job of it. Given that my dining experiences are pretty much exclusively limited to New York, prices like these are mind-bottling – you know, when things are so crazy it gets your thoughts all trapped, like in a bottle?* Anyway, Maria’s is a yummy, cheap brunch option that is ideal if you’ve woken up hungover at your casino’s hotel and need a big plate of comforting food ASAP. Came here for Sunday brunch after wild night(no complaints). Given our party size, we had to wait 10 or 15 minutes before they could prepare a table for us, but that’s to be expected when a place is fairly busy and not too big. We were all struggling, questioning if we were hungry or just nauseated, and questioning our life choices. I am pleased to report that, despite our very watered-down coffee, this place woke us up in a jiffy. So there’s the hiccup. The only hiccup, in my opinion. When I wake up in the morning, my first though is always«is coffee readily available and if not how do I change this situation immediately?». I’m a caffeine addict, plain and simple. If the hangover isn’t enough, try that compounded with caffeine withdrawal. It ain’t pretty, folks. That leaves a girl like me inarticulate for virtually the rest of the day. So I was worried after being served this coffee. IMPORTANT: this was ICED coffee. I have a feeling that their normal brew is, well, normal. When one person asked if they had iced coffee and received an affirmative, we all started itching for something more refreshing. And that was the fateful error. Thankfully, though, we all managed to wake up okay. They just need to strengthen their iced coffee and they’ll be good to go. One more note: they have menus that are exclusively for espresso. Clearly I should’ve opted for that. One member of our group ordered a latte, which was more to my satisfaction than my coffee. So I’d say stay away from iced coffee, go espresso beverage, normal coffee, or nada. I don’t know a single person who likes coffee-flavored water. But now let’s get to the good stuff. Food! I ordered the special Vegetable Omelet, which comes with home fries and your choice of white, whole wheat, or rye bread. I believe this omelet in particular contained spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and peppers. I wasn’t paying that close attention to the veggies though, I just wanted the food in my belly ASAP. The omelet obviously wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it still hit the spot. Solid, solid omelet. And those home fries! Yummy and equally satisfying. Almost everyone at my table cleaned their plates. And the few who didn’t still had their plates cleaned – a few extra-voracious members of our party took the liberty(after asking permission of course, which kind of negates the expression«took the liberty» but whatever) of gobbling up any and all remaining remnants when the rest of us had finished. As I said, service was delightful. We had had an awful service experience the night before, so the attentiveness here was appreciated by all. It did take a while for our food to come out, but as I said before, that’s to be expected when you have a large party. We were impatient, but that’s our fault, not theirs! Our server was also very nice about giving me as much water as I could possibly get my hands on, which probably saved me for the rest of the day. *Check out Blades of Glory if you haven’t – it’s well worth a nice handful of watches

It’s a very good place for breakfast! Wish we found out about it earlier instead of eating at Café Roma in Caesar’s. Much better quality.

I happened to be in AC for a mini vacay and I was looking for a really good breakfast spot. I came across many with a lot of great reviews but this one was closest to my hotel. I’m so glad I chose Maria’s and also that it was so close to the hotel. When I pulled up my best friend took one look and was like ewww but I knew this place was going to be great. We walked and were greeted with the warmest smile. As we walked to our table we looked at the food other’s were having and knew then that this place definitely was where we wanted to be. My best friend ordered a pancake platter along with a breakfast sandwich. I ordered a waffle platter with turkey bacon and it was so good. Whenever I come back to AC Maria’s will definitely be my go to place for breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the food was delicious.

Amazing homestyle food!!! Nice people! I ordered the spinach omelet, you have to ask for cheese if you like. I forgot! Lol… My husband got the meat lovers breakfast sandwich on a bagel. He enjoyed it!

My mother and I shared the Spanish omelette with a short stack of pancakes. The omelette was fluffy and delicious and the salsa was a nice complement to it. The pancakes were a bit too spongy(as in not light and fluffy) for me personally, but they were still tasty. Overall a satisfying breakfast for an excellent price. Do not be deterred by the outside appearance.

Excellent service! Not a fancy place by any means but the food and service were on point. My coffee was never empty despite the place being crowded. I had the Greek omelette with a side of corned beef hash and the b/f had waffles with eggs. Everything came out quickly and tasted great. I can see why this place is always packed.

I have been to Atlantic City countless times and I always have a hard time finding some good breakfast. But finally I decided to try Maria’s Luncheonette and the food was amazing! My boyfriend loved his French toast and I loved my waffle! The staff here is friendly and prices are affordable and of course the food is great! It is also by the tanger outlets so that’s a plus. I will be visiting again, next time I am in Atlantic city! Compared to other places in AC I am giving this place 5 stars.

We went there after staying over at the Caesar hotel in AC. A typical diner type of place and it had a small crowd of people. The staff was friendly and attentive . Coffee: very hot and good strength Eggs and corn beef hash, nicely done Home fries can use a little onions or peppers in there but it was ok. French toast: very good Will go back when we are back again.

This place was alright. Homefries were basically mashed potatoes, had a small amount of flavor that tasted like sazon — but i wanted more of that flavor. they have a light hand here. When it comes to the pancake egg sandwhich, i was intrigued and let down. the pancakes are way too big compared to the slice of cheese and one egg thats in between it. i suggest using 2 eggs and more cheese or making the pancakes smaller. everyone else felt their food was alright, but nothing to rave about. service was nothing spectacular, probably in the middle. however, one table behind us ended up leaving before getting served because it was slow. bathrooms are kinda dingy, but on the plus side — they have a small parking lot on the side & the prices are very reasonable!

Solid breakfast diner. Clean, good service, decent-sized menu. I had french toast and italian sausage. The sausage was spicy and good, the french toast was french toast. If I were ranking on the food alone, I’d probably go 3 stars, but this seemed to be the best breakfast spot around, and the owner and waitresses were really nice and professional. Be ready for a crowd.

Maria’s Luncheonette is a old fashioned food emporium on Atlantic Avenue. It serves up traditional fare for breakfast and lunch and good prices and prompt service. The house is full of locals and visitors taking a break from the casinos on the Boardwalk. The authenticity goes all the way to the tin-type ceilings(which could use rehabilitation to bring back the shine). My French Toast was good, even though it lacked the sugar caramelization on its edges that brings a pleasing crunch to the table. My companions Turkey Club on Wheat was a full plate of that well loved sandwich. It was too much for her, and I ended up eating almost half of it. Maria’s gets stars for its genuine lack of glitterati, friendly service, and the old time feeling of a bygone era when such places were part of everyday America. That it survives and thrives is a testament to its lasting quality and cultural heritage. This one is a keeper.

They have their own parking lot on the left side of the building. Very convenient! When you walk in, they tell you to sit at whichever table you would like. Then your server comes with menus and ask what you would like to drink. Their orange juice is just a bottle. For our meals, I ordered Maria’s Belgium Waffle and a side of home fries. Our server told us there were no more blueberries, just strawberries and bananas. I like that better anyways. Lots of whipped crème and a scoop of ice cream on top! It was a big waffle. Would be good to share. The boyfriend got the Executive sandwich with potato salad. They were out of potato salad so we got fries instead. All the stuff in the sandwich made it thick and hard to bite the hole thing at once haha but it was good. The French fries and home fries came out hot and not very oily which is very important to me.

Just an average diner with a humble appearance. Disgusting restroom though! Satisfied my desperate hungover munchies. Got the veggie wrap minus the cheese which was not that good. Saturated in oil. Contained mostly wet lettuce. My friends seemed content with their French toast, eggs, sausage and grits. Nothing spectacular just typical brunch food. Easy to stop by after checking out of AC hotel but would not return. Best features was cheapness(you get what you pay for) and the Calypso bottled lemonade they serve!

The people here are very nice. They greet you when you come in and attend to you immediately and frequently. The place is walking distance from Caesars and Ballys. Great diner like place to come have breakfast in. We all order eggs. I had an egg sandwich with american cheese. It was good, the wheat bread was texas toast wheat so it was super good. Yummy. Also the server was nice enough to give us a pitcher of water since I finished my glass within the seconds she put it on the table haha. I get nervous to ask for pitchers so I’m glad she was able to do it. Good breakfast spot in AC, come y’all !

Hot Cakes. Hot as FCUK. REALLY Hot as FCUK. Some thoughts that you might have once you entered this diner. I’m a fan of heat and this did not bother me the slightest. But for those that aren’t heat tolerant/fans or on the slimmer side of things… it just might bother you. I meant to come here after a boozy night at Unilocal’s Winter Break: II but because the wait time was so long, Phở Sydney was the choice. Maria’s Luncheonette also opens early and closes by 3pm so do keep that in mind when planning a visit here. They will get BUSY. They will have a WAIT. And they will make you regret not coming here sooner. Sitting down, at first I was ballin’. Even at my comment to the waiter/waitress when they decided to seat me to a 4 seat table all to myself despite the long line and packed house, I found myself king amongst kings with ample space. Soon, they did ask me if I would be so kind as to move to the smaller 2 seater booth by the window next to the door which I did not mind since I did not want to waste their 4 seated table in the first place. Still ballin’ in style I suppose… I was hungry so I didn’t really get to check out the back area or do all the things I’d do at a restaurant. FEEEEDDDDDDDDMMEEEEEEEEEEEE… I ordered the Italian Sausage Sub with Fries($ 7.95). The other option would be chips instead of fries. OHSOFUKCINGGOOD. The bread was just the right firmness and chewiness as you would find at an AUTHENTIC Philly Cheesesteak shop. The green peppers and onions with that garlic… goodness. The chopped sausages… heavenly. I am so glad I was able to order off the lunch portion even though it was only 11am. You will be too if you order this when you come here. DOIT. Now I did mention that I was STARVING. Naturally I ordered a second dish. Off the breakfast side of things this time, I ordered the Italian Sausage Omelet. The omelet was good and flavorful as I expected them to be. The sides of potato hash however needs improvement. It was slightly soggy but not overly. The flavors were lacking and I had to make up for it with extra dosages of ketchup. It also came with a side of toast. Your options for that is either white or wheat bread. The service was lovely. The waitresses were looking sexy. They were ALL friendly. And I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and food. I will come back for more food next time. You can count on it. FAN.
