Basic facts: 50 seat bar(approximation) 2 bartenders. 20 minutes for a drink. If that makes sense to you then come here. This was a Tuesday night(during a convention in the summer). So if this makes sense then go here. If not… you’re probably better elsewhere.

This place is racist. Every bartender(MATTHEWANDCHRISTOPHER) looked over me and my girlfriend were waiting at the bar for 40 minutes while they took everyone’s order around us. The black guy next to us was waiting even longer. They should be giving drinks in chronological order not in tint order.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I used to really enjoy this place, but the bartenders are TERRIBLE. Not only did my friend and I wait for 15+ minutes, but the bartenders took everyone else’s orders around us. We never ended up ordering. The bartender, MATTHEW, was the WORST, RUDESTBARTENDEREVER. The other bartender, CHRISTOPHER, is just as bad. They repeatedly told us «just one second» while they proceeded to tend to the other customers that arrived after us, who continued to scream out their order. I see why AC is going bankrupt.

Ive been coming here for years. The drinks are cheap and usually its a pretty chilled out spot. sometimes to chilled out. I guess that depends on what days you go. The bartenders are usually pretty cool. Only once had a rude one. The Vixens are no longer there to dance but from what i was told they are at Ceasars. All three trains are broke down behind the bar that is a décor. They took a big majority of the slots off the floor and its now mostly empty(around the bar area).Friday and Saturday night there is usually a band and a dj. Ive seen a few good acts play there. The dj is a pretty cool guy and does take request. All and all its got cheap drinks, a good atmosphere and i still after all these years cant find that damn mechanical bull but that might be because of the cheap drinks!!;-)

Fav bar in AC. Friendly staff, cheap drinks. What more could you want? My favs are The Boss and Blue Mountain. Open 24 hours and fabulous weekday specials.

This is my favorite spot in AC. No matter what hotel I stay in, I always come here. The drinks and beers are cheap… not to mention that they don’t close! On the nights they do not have a dj they have a good variety of music pumping out of the speakers. While all the bartenders take care of you, Tammy is definitely my favorite… Very attentive and just a great person to shoot the shit with! This place should always be on your list to check out when you are in AC!

Frustrating night at Mountain Bar. It was a Tuesday night so not very busy. I was continually looked over by the two male bartenders, most likely because I’m a female who was with my girlfriend. When we tried to order what would be our last drink we were asked who our bartender was which was a little odd, but I get it you need to look for our tab, however we had 2 out of the 3 bartenders before that drink so I guess I didn’t know you had to order with the same bartender. When we told him he came back and said he didn’t see our card there. After saying please look again he found it… So we cashed out. Meanwhile we were drinking 3.25 drafts all night and there was a bottled Corona on the bill. No big deal anywhere else I would of said something but with them I felt serving me in the first place was a hassle to them so I declined telling them. Only reason I gave two stars was because they had good prices for drinks and the gaming floor wasn’t crazy packed you could enjoy it. Atmosphere was nice — beer pong and arcade basketball, so it does attract a younger crowd.

They have some cheap drinks but the mixed drinks are the small cups like you’ll get on the casino floor so they aren’t quite as cheap as they seem. Some of the cocktails are pretty good but others are way too sweet so be sure and read the descriptions. They have lots of TVs so this is the place to check out some sports if you’re missing the game. The bartenders are mostly nice and the customers will chat you up which isn’t a bad thing and makes for a fun time… unless you get one of the odd ducks talking to you about all of the things that have gone wrong in their life! This place won’t make a list of America’s best bars or anything but worth a try for what it is.

Just a great casino bar with nice bartenders and reasonably priced drinks. I will be back to hang with the nice people I met here!

Mountain Bar is one of those places I end up time and time again. Want to have a quick shot in the middle of the afternoon? AC Beerfest after party? Unilocal Winter Break event? Time to pre-game? So I think my favorite time to be there is during the off-times. At night everyone has the same idea to go there for cheap drinks and it gets pretty packed. The bar has an open structure where just a few dividers/partial walls keep it separate from the casino floor. The open structure is probably good when it gets packed, but it takes away from the bar«destination aspect.» My favorite time to go is in the middle afternoon. It’s great for a quick, cheap drink. It’s actually even better to catch a game. While not officially a sports bar, there are a ton of TVs that always have the important games on. While the $ 3-$ 4-$ 3 structure of the drafts-shots-bottles is enticing to the wallet, I’m not in love with the selection. The beers are limited to domestics and the shots are typically something strong, hard to choke-back types of straight liquor. I believe they also have various mixed drink offerings that are a little more than $ 4, but typically too sweet. As far as décor, they hit the jackpot on this one and it’s the perfect wild-west setting. Thinking about all the different themed bars in Atlantic City, I think the Mountain Bar takes the cake for keeping truest to concept. That might sound a little contradictory to my earlier statement about the lack of destination aspect, but the entire Wild West Casino is decorated to theme so well, you just can’t miss that hee-haw feeling any place in the bar or casino. While I’m sure I’ll be back to Mountain Bar and appreciate the 153 hours a week it is open, you’ll probably find me doing a late night pop in or mid-afternoon game break.

I’m sorry, but to me the Mountain Bar typifies why AC is struggling to stay alive. Mountain Bar answers the question: «Hey, where can I go to buy overpriced, weak drinks, in little plastic cups, served by bartenders who look like they’d rather be doing a dime at Rikers Island than serving us drinks, and surrounded by WAY too many drunk people dressed like Wal-Mart mannequins? Yes, Mountain Bar is all that! And less. From the cheesy faux-Western décor to the OVER-priced drinks, I say go elsewhere for fun in AC. The one redeeming quality here is that the space is adjacent to a stage with live music, so at least this gives you a reason to leave and go hear the band. Probably 1.5 stars, but I’m feeling generous.

Do you want to get besotted, blitzed, crocked, hammered, obliterated, polluted, schnockered, shitfaced, smashed, trashed, wasted or zonked? Do you want to do it without paying $ 10, $ 11, $ 12, $ 13 a drink as in many casino bars? Remember those small plastic cups that are kind of whitish gray with little ribs on them? This is that place! This is that high school Friday night sand pit blast or college frat party all over again and it’s a damn good time. For $ 3-$ 7 a drink you can easily send your BAL through the roof. Other have said the drinks vary depending on the bartender. I only had one and her drinks were STRONG! Many of the mixed drinks were quite sweet but who cares after the first SIX or EIGHT! Let’s not forget the bull riding. Who doesn’t like seeing drunken patrons flying through the air and landing on their heads? Then there is the half-naked cow girls dancing on the bar. In may not turn on most girls but the guys love it. This place has found its niche in AC and that is getting blitzed without taking out a second mortgage. For that they get four stars!

Mountain bar can be quite a fun time. They have decent specials and tend to play good music. The bull is gone. The beer pong is still there. However, if you are looking for something consistent and loud, Mountain bar may be your place!

I was here for the Unilocal Winter Break III party. This was my third Winter Break so I could put things into perspective. The Wild West Mountain bar is located in the Ballys Casino adjacent to Ceasars Palace. It is adjacent to the wings fast food and the live band dance floor. After our Philips Unilocal check-in this was our second event from 9−11pm. When I arrived around 9:15pm the bar was already full and hopping so I had to squeeze my way in along with other Unilocalers to the bar. People asked why we were there so I tried to explain. Last year as I recall we had complimentary drink coupons, but, this year we were charged $ 5 for Unilocal drinks. I recall last year the drinks were only $ 4 so I guess we were charged like everyone else this year namely $ 5. The bartenders were very slow to take care of the combined crowd of regular and Unilocal customers. I was with another Unilocaler from Manhattan, who tried to order some shots, but, to no avail. Also what happened to those Wild West Mountain bar dancers from last year? I really liked them so I was disappointed this year. I assume this was a cut-back from Bally’s management and unrelated to our Unilocal event. Overall I had a good time because I was able to meet some old and new Unilocalers from Philly, including Kathleen D. I also liked the live music from the adjacent dance floor. Also unlike our 1st event at Philips there were no appetizers served here.

Located in the Ballys Casino. Right next to the wings and the dance floor. This bar is really great with the bartenders(well uniformed even being bold) the guys were nice and kept it real. Were helpful and really made my drinks nice by adding those extra shots! Of course you need to take care of people like that! Thanks guys for making my night, a night to remember! Happy drinking everyone!

Stay away! We figured we’d check out mountain bar for some cheap drinks since it had pretty good reviews. As soon as we got in Ballys i wanted to turn around, it just had a creepy seedy feeling. When we finally found mountain bar, there were a good amount of people in there, and one male bartender. Not the fun party atmosphere i was expecting at all. We didn’t feel safe drinking there so we just decided to leave– on the way out we saw a guy beating up a prostitute. 2 other guys tried to help, while security stood about 20 feet away and did nothing. The cherry on the $hit sundae that was Ballys and mountain bar was the $ 10 we got charged to leave the parking garage. Even though we had been there less than half hour.

Kay, so Mountain Bar is easily a 2 star casino bar that I’m generously giving 3 stars. This place has accidentally become a tradition with my gals since we first took a girl’s trip to AC about 3 or 4 years ago — each time we end up here kind of by accident, shrug our shoulders to their low, low prices and grab a table as we wait to head back to NY. Most recently our most recent girls trip to AC was fueled by Unilocal’s Winter Break spectacular and we ended up back here again for both a Unilocal event and as a place to down some beers and round out the last day as we killed time before our bus came to take us back to the NYC… again. With a 24 hour — 7 days a week Happy Hour special that consists of select $ 2 draft beers(Bud Light, Coors Light and I think Heineken — ughhhh, I LOATHE Heineken), $ 2(crappy) shots and $ 3 bottles of beer and better pints(well…not MUCH better, but I’ll take a Blue Moon over any of the aforementioned draft beers ANYDAY) it’s not too much of a challenge to oversee the flaws here. It’s just a loud, uninteresting and just weirdly tacky bar… but it’s in a casino, so we can’t entirely fault them there right? Cheap beer is cheap beer and when you’re finishing off a trip in AC it doesn’t hurt to down a few here. I would never in a million years make it a «destination bar», no way Jose!(I’ve NEVER said that… but it totally fits here!).

What can I say, they had me at mechanical bull.(The cowgirls in small shorts and tight tops don’t hurt either.) Mountain Bar is a random country/western bar in the middle of a casino, the placing is oddity in the middle of Atlantic City but they totally do it for me. Not much to the look, the bar is in a little corner of the casino, long bar with plenty of room to drive yourself in when ordering a drink. Drinks are some of the cheapest I have ever experienced in a casino setting, most of the draft beer is 2 or 3 dollars, yes it is basic domestic beer but as a proud admitted Miller Lite fan that is right up my alley. There were also some specialty cocktails that were all on the cheap side, I recommend the vixen which can be had for a cheap price. Back to the mechanical bull, is anything funnier than watching drunken nuts gyrating around on a mechanical bull, I could spend hours just watching this. The beer pong set is also a unique and fun way to spend some and I crushed the basketball arcade game as well. Really fun bar and worth a visit if you want to take a break from throwing money away.

The bar definitely has a «that’s pretty cool» factor. The bar has a miniature mountain on top and around the bar, hence«Mountain Bar». There’s a Mechanical Bull, which I absolutely had to try out, considering that there are only a handful of places in New Jersey that feature this.(btw I lasted16 seconds) Their signature drinks just weren’t that good, I really wanted to like them, but their drinks were way too sweet and just weird tasting. There are women dressed in cowgirl costumes called«The Wild West Vixens» that dance on the bar, which totally sounds cool, except that it was like watching a dance recital when there’s that one girl who is totally not in sync with the rest of the group; which was pretty sad. Then they come around the bar with their hats open asking for a tip; which is pretty trashy. It’s a cool bar, but I’m one and done!

Nah, this place is just weird. Drinks are sweet and kinda odd. Whole setup of the bar, long and narrow, was not very welcoming. Bartenders with sour tired faces on. C’mon, smile a little! Lots of drunk creeps. The only redeeming grace for this place was a security guard who let me sit at his chair and people watch.
