Salon At Bally’s

I got a basic manicure on Friday for $ 35 and it all chipped off by Sunday afternoon. It also was not a quality manicure. It really didn’t look that good and the edges were kind of messy. Oh well…

The service I received at this salon was abysmal. I made my appointment 2 months in advance in anticipation of a concert I was going to. I told them at the time that I wanted a ‘rock and roll’ inspired-​updo (complete with picture of what I wanted). I also wanted a simple manicure. They gave me a time frame and set my appointment at 4 pm. (They did not tell me they close at 6 pm.)
The actual time it took to do my ‘updo’ was two hours, which is fine in itself, but the style was NOTHING like what I wanted and looked NOTHING like the picture I showed the stylist Erin. She proceeded to give me a bridal updo, which looked lumpy and horrible. AND, although she charged me an extra $ 10 because my hair is long, she couldn’t complete the updo because she didn’t have the skills to work with long hair. She suggested one of two things: a) I could just leave half of my hair down my back, which would make it look like I had a nasty mullet, or b) She could take the remaining bottom half of my hair and just make a bun at the bottom of my neck. Well, I had no choice and went with the bun since I WAS looking for an updo, NOT a half-​do. It looked like complete crap, and I was devastated.
Then the woman who was supposed to do my nails went home sick so she couldn’t do them. My hairstylist, Erin, said she’s do them for me instead. At this point, it was past 6 pm and Erin clearly just wanted to get out of there. She didn’t soak my nails, she didn’t even WASH my hands (I had to ask her twice if I could at least wash them myself before she started painting them since they were kind of dirty under the nails and she said she was planning to put alcohol on my nails to dry the nail bed out and that should kill any bacteria). I demanded to at least get to wash my hands. She never trimmed my nails and when I asked why not she said that the two longest nails (on my left hand — the only 2 I hadn’t bitten down to the quick because of stress) were fine to leave ‘long’ as no one would notice their length once the dark paint was on!
I have no idea how this place stays in business. I will NEVER go here again, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Erin needs to go back to cosmetology school.

The Salon was one of the stops in the scavenger hunt during Unilocal Winter Break II — If I was in AC longer I would have utilized the area — in addition to the typical spa services, the fitness center and indoor pool peaked my interest. I learned that they have 7 jacuzzis, steam room, saunas and racquetball & basketball courts. The ladies at the counter were very nice.
