Listen, this place is the best. Don’t believe others who complained about having to wait and were all but hurt about it. It is a hot spot to go for dinner, your going to wait for a table at peak hours. Its worth the wait. The food is great, the service is great, and everyone is super friendly and will take care of your needs like pro’s. You need to go here ASAP and treat yourself to some good food and awesome atmosphere. Do it

Went for my best friends 21st and oh my god it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We ordered apple cider sangrias which were superb. Escargot for apps and salmon and mash for our main course and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had! Quaint little spot in Attleboro but VERY expensive. Also be prepared to pay for valet.

The food is great! I loved their salmon and the ambiance is amazing. I can’t wait to take my fiancé, family and friends there to eat and check-in for the big day.

Very friendly staff. The dining room setting was intimate and one of a kind. The food was outstanding and large portions. Would highly recommend for a unique experience. They offer valet parking, which too was a very nice offering.

Beautiful place but food is mediocre at best. Took forever to get our food and when it arrived it was just sad and uninspired. My pork chops were in consistently cooked and my wife’s lamb was poorly trimmed and one was raw. We sent hers back and the next one was worse. Had high expectations but very disappointed. Server was very good. Kitchen staff? Not so much.

Honestly, my meal looked as if the local nursing home dumped their sad leftovers on my plate. The one fork-full serving of «risotto» that was on my dish was dried out and inedible… The vegetables were tasteless and although the outside of my salmon was pretty dry and lacking any maple flavor the inside was at least piping hot and flaky… However, the tiny bone I found in it wasn’t very appetizing. The best part was our waitress, she was great! It wasn’t her fault the kitchen turned out a $ 30 plate of crap.

This is a gem in the heart of Attleboro! The food, service and atmosphere are amazing! One of the best prime rib dinners i’ve ever had. Definitely worthy of any special occasion.

A wonderful upscale in our own backyard. I have never been disappointed with the food, service, or drinks. The live music on the patio during the summer is a wonderful oasis in a busy little city. We go every year for our anniversary and will continue the tradition. We love this place.

Excellent! Such a lovely spot, the inn is a charming old colonial. The casual diner looking for an excellent lunch should not be steered away by the Linen tablecloths. Portions are big. I’ve tried several different salads. They’ve all been delicious, a great mix of ingredients and delicious dressing. This is a great place for a professional lunch or if you’re entertaining out-of-towners. Service, hospitality and food are all superb!

One evening last week we decided to cash in a gift certificate and treat ourselves to the fancy place in town. I’ve always been curious about Blackington but never had an excuse to drop in(I mean… I live like 5mi away)…until now! Really a lovely date night location with a rich menu and classic beverages. First impressions: we were required to valet our car(makes sense, it’s a small lot and it was the holiday season), the walk over the brick patio and under the trellis to the front door was adorable, through the front door… yikes. Their hostess(and concierge?) desk is the first thing you see and it is a MESS, right down to the decaying chair behind it. The young woman who greeted us was NOT decaying, she smiled, let us know where to hang out coats, and seated us in the dining room. This inn is a classic colonial with historic finishes, beautiful paintings, and rich furnishings — a lot classier than we had anticipated(we felt immediately under-dressed). We took our seats in the captains chairs(so comfy) at a lovely corner table and perused the menu. This is when things got weird. Our bus boy made awkward jokes throughout the evening(beginning with«it’s bread… you eat it» when delivering the giant HALFLOAF and hearing me exclaim a «wow» …really?). …Anyway, we had settled our dining plan and waited for our waiter. …for our … waiter? …where is that guy? AH, here he comes. He is not impressed that I don’t need to hear the non-veg specials, tried to edge me into getting a cocktail like my husband was, and then took our order and slipped awayyyy… A while(and some great people snobbery watching) later he returned with my first course: french onion soup. The soup was delish! But the cheese on top had already congealed and was impossible to consume without taking it down like one long rope. While most absent from our table, he tried to take my soup twice before I finally said«Yes…NOW I am done». Our mains were alright; my husband ordered veal with a mushroom risotto and I landed on the beet salad. He liked his veal meal, but I barely touched the beets(they weren’t cooked to the point of non-crunch). The rest of the salad was fine. We watched him pass back, forth, back, around, passed, through, forth, back, then(after three failed attempts) FINALLY round back on our table. He asked if we would like to see the dessert menu and we said«No thanks, we’re fully satisfied!»(slash — I’m trying to be healthyish with my soup and salad) to which he responded«Full??? …you had a salad…» My dagger stare sent him away. Once the bill was paid we headed out; I realized that I had beat my husband to the coats and when he joined me he laughed and said that our charming bus boy had noted to him«Wheew…she left YOU behind!» …yeesh. It was an odd evening for service, but with that aside: loved the ambiance, the comfort, the food(mostly). Next time we’re looking for a classy cocktail date night we’ll pop back for a second chance.

One of my favorite restaurants, the rooms are small and intimate but more important to me is the noise level is much less then any other place we go. The bar is also a pleasure to have a drink at before dinner or even to have a meal right there. We dined in the Carriage House last Saturday night and although the service was slow, we were dining with old friends we had not seen for a while and really appreciated the relaxed pace. It felt like dining in Europe where you own the table for the evening. And great food!

Absolutely love this place! Always consistent and a lovely experience! We came here on August 13 to celebrate our first anniversary. It was a Thursday night and they had entertainment in the outdoor patio seating area. We asked to sit outside and were given the opportunity to have a front row seat. It was the perfect ambiance for our first anniversary together! We ordered calamari for an appetizer and it was excellent! It was the Rhode Island style with the calamari and hot peppers and was probably enough for 4 adults to split, maybe 5. Delicious and a generous portion! We were also given bread and dipping oil with olives to start. The bread is unbelievably amazing! I stop by occasionally to buy a loaf to take home and have for special dinners — it’s just that good! For our dinner choices I chose the baked scrod with risotto and my husband chose the flat iron steak with mashed potatoes. Both were unbelievably delicious and cooked perfectly. The portions are pretty generous, and given all of the food we’d eaten up to that point, we wrapped a good portion to go and had leftovers the next night! Although the prices may be a little high, the delicious food and ambiance of this beautiful gem are worth every bit!

Once again I have the opportunity to recommend the inn. We held my daughters baby shower here today and it was a resounding success. Brunch for 30 in the carriage house. Wonderful service, excellent food and perfect ambiance. And all for less than you would ever expect. 5 + stars.

Lovely restaurant in Attleboro. The historical feel is very charming. The service is excellent. Recently came with friends for Sunday brunch. Amazing! I devoured the best brunch burger. The meat was seasoned well, the fixings were abundant, and the sides were beautiful. I received a fresh fruit cup, a lively mesclun salad, and the best burger I’ve had in a while. My friend had the same(who could resist!) and another friend had apple cinnamon pancakes. They both LOVED their dishes. Definitely, definitely returning next time I’m in town!!!

Several years ago, we had the pleasure of dining here and enjoyed the meal as well as the singer. The room was small but quaint and welcoming. This time however, it was a beautiful summer evening and we reserved a table in the lovely patio area to enjoy the beautiful plants, calming water fountains, and another wonderful singer. We chose a bottle of cabernet which was moderately priced and quite smooth. Olga, our very pleasant server, was helpful to us throughout the evening as she paced our meal nicely and had provided very accurate descriptions. We decided to begin with a «special,» the fig, cantaloupe, and prosciutto appetizer, and it was scrumptious. Each main course includes a garden salad but we decided to upgrade with the beet salad which was quite the tasty masterpiece with slices of green apple, pear, beets, and oranges, tossed with walnuts, mixed greens and crumbled blue cheese, and served with a Honey Dijon vinaigrette. Regarding the entrees, for the first time in his life, my husband tried salmon because he loved the way the menu described how it was prepared, and he truly enjoyed it. He exclaimed over the flavor as it included roasted walnuts tossed lightly in maple syrup. I decided to try one of their house favorites, the Stuffed Statler Chicken. This free range chicken breast was stuffed with roasted vegetables, spinach, goat cheese and Italian bread crumbs and was topped with a very savory mushroom marsala sauce. I had no room for dessert but my husband forced down an ice cream cake sundae! Colonel Blackinton Inn with its great food, lovely ambiance, and classy entertainment creates a very special memory in one’s mind. IT is definitely a restaurant to which one must return.

I attended a bridal shower on Sunday in the Colonel Blackinton Inn. There were about 50 people in attendance. It started at 11am and went until about 2pm. Large mimosa’s were served. The menu included eggs Benedict, pasta primavera, vegetable quiche, and chicken francaise. All looked and tasted great. The dessert was brought in. The staff were attentive and present. All in all it was a great place to have a shower. It had the intimate feel of being at home, but without all of the work. It would be a great choice for a small event.

This review is for planning a function. I didn’t love my meal, but they still get 5 stars for rocking an important family function of 20+ and wowing a tough crowd. Working with Allison and Kim was so easy. They were fast to respond, quick to make recommendations, and went above and beyond to accommodate. We simple loved the space of the private dining room. As family, we didn’t really want many small tables. The 2 long tables in the same room was simply perfect to get everyone lots of face time with everyone else. I don’t know of any other place in the area that offers this setup. We loved the bright yellow walls, the wine on the mantle above the fireplace, our own private bathroom in the room… we just loved it. Great attention to detail and warm hospitality. Overall, people raved about their meals: calamari, rottini, clam chowder starters. Pasta, steak, ravioli, and other staple Italian mains. I loved the parm and hot pepper flakes in the dipping oil. Our server Tonya was super professional and also a lot of fun. Our cake from Montillio’s in Brockton, MA was superb. Highly recommended for functions. For a larger one they have the Carriage House in the back. What would have made the experience even better: — not being told we had to leave by 6:45 when the room was booked from 4 – 7 — less confusing parking. the no one was there from valet when we pulled in, so we trudged across the street to park ourselves. it’s on a main road — crossing the street with 2 small kids on at Sat night was like human Frogger — more creative beer list

A moderately high priced restaurant that does italian soooo we’ll. Cozy small rooms with a highly trained staff that can answer all you questions. Menu has all the usual suspects-lagsagna, Marsala, calamari, nice steaks etc. ambiance is great. And the drinks are a good pour. Valet parking and an outside function room! Blazing fireplaces and a nice wine selection.

Took my girlfriend here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. A friend recommended the place and it had positive reviews on Unilocal so we decided to give it a shot and we were not disappointed. It is a converted Colonial era house so each room only has about 4 tables in it which provides an excellent and intimate atmosphere. I was in love with the menu and had a hard time deciding what I wanted. We started with the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, the seafood stuffing on them was fantastic. I then got the New York Strip Steak which was a big piece of beef perfectly seasoned and cooked. It comes with a salad, garlic mashed potatoes to die for, and mixed vegetables. My girlfriend got one of the specials which was sole stuffed with a seafood stuffing and served with a salad, risotto, and mixed vegetables(she liked FYI). We of course ended the meal with a dessert. I got the Crème Brulee(my all time favorite dessert) and it was amazing. She got a warm chocolate chip cookie sundae. Reservations are pretty much required if you want to guarantee a table. I called the day before and got one of the last tables for the following night. It also has a very small parking lot so it is valet parking only so remember to have a few dollars in your pocket for a tip. It was a wonderful meal. We were impressed with everything from the food to the venue and service. For the type of atmosphere and experience they provide I found it a good value. It is not inexpensive by any means but I found it worth the money I spent. If you are looking for a different experience or a place to celebrate a milestone I would highly recommend The Colonel Blackinton Restaurant.
