I went today for a cut and dye. It’s been over a year since I’ve had my hair done and it was looking pretty bad.
My appointment was with Whitney. She asked what I wanted and we went from there. She listened to what I said and offered me color options and made some suggestions on the cut. I was so happy with the final result I almost cried. I would highly recommend Whitney if you need a change to your hairstyle.
Everyone who works there is sweet too, which makes the experience that much better. It’s a lovely space and they offer you beverages which is always nice.
I have nothing bad to say about this place.

DO NOT go here. My initial visit for a partial highlight and cut ended up taking over 3.5 hours and I was originally told it would be $ 95, when I went to check out it was $ 120. I had been there from 11 until well after 3:15 so I was starving and late for an event and quickly left. Upon returning home my highlights were bright brassy GOLD not light brown. I contacted the salon and the manager offered to fix it which was very nice. But again my second visit took 2 hours and the toner she had to put on made the highlights dark enough you could barely notice them. AS FOR THE CUT — — the first girl that did my hair called another stylist over in the middle of my cut to «help» her. Once she was done she stated she had her «texturize it»…which is the LAST thing someone with thick curly hair needs. Needless to say my hair stays in constant tangles and within a week of going back for toner to be put on my hair it is right back to the brassy highlights. It is bad enough I have had 2 people at work ask me «what happened to your hair?» The owner tries to be nice enough but when I went back to her she stated I should have booked with someone «more experienced»…it was my first visit and I am new to the area how would I know who has experience and who doesn’t? All in all it was almost 6 hours and $ 140 wasted. I am trying to find ways to wear my hair up until this disaster grows out enough I can have another stylist fix it. PLEASE BEWARE!!! I wish I had never stepped foot in here

I didn’t have to wait and was just a walk in. The stylist did an amazing job on my cut and style. Will be going back. Prices are fair and salon is nice and clean!

For an expert hair colorist — go see Sarah Zaidle at Hot Lox! I just got an amazing ombré/​balayage color done and she nailed it!
This place is convenient for anyone along the 380 corridor, the staff is friendly and professional, and it’s reasonably priced.

I went today for the first time for a haircut. The place was very nice and clean and the staff greeted me warmly and asked if I would like a drink while I waited. Whitney was my stylist and she did a fantastic job! She listened to what I wanted and gave me a great haircut. I’ll definitely be going back.

The phone lines were down in the area so I was a little discouraged at first but hey, that’s not their fault. I was contacted by email as quickly as I think they could. Staff was friendly and got me an appoint the same day. Amazing. Salon is cute and decorated with fun seasonal garb. My appoint was with Shelby, whom is newer to the salon. Shelby listened to what I wanted, worked quickly, was kind and most importantly great at what she does. Once I got home my boyfriend had to put his hands in my hair and all my coworkers and friend say it looks soft and the color is perfect. Maybe only one downside was I think I spent a little too long in the shampoo bowl because my neck was sore the rest of that night and the next day. I’m sure if I had said anything that wouldn’t have been a problem. I would love to see Shelby again.

My mother-​in-​law and sister-​in-​law both see Haley, and it was a pleasant surprise to be scheduled with her while booking a last minute appointment last week… before I even knew which stylist they see! While introducing myself, she remembered who they were. You can’t ask for a more personalized experience than that!
This was my first visit at Hot Lox, and everything from booking an appointment to the ease of making it through my appointment was spot on. The wait was short, the scalp massage was extremely relaxing and my new stylist was professional and easy to talk to. I will definitely be back to see Haley, I am extremely happy with her artistic talent and love for her career!

I’ve even searching for a new hair dresser & finally found an amazing one! Her name is Bethany! She’s awesome & does such a fabulous job — she took her time & my experience was super relaxed. She’s got a very tranquil feel! :) The salon on general was wonderful, very welcoming & everyone is super friendly.

I have to say… I was a little leery of trying hotlox salon because its in a strip mall and I had not seen much in the way of marketing. I live close by so I was wanting to try it since it was so convenient. I had been in the hospital a long time and I was recently released to go home. Most of my hair had fallen out and I felt pretty bad about how it looked. I had an appointment with Bethany. She was amazing! ! She did a wonderful job. She does this wonderful head massage with the shampoo that makes you feel so relaxed. I told her about my illness and my hospital stay and why my hair looked so bad. She was very sweet and kind and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I cut off 32 inches of hair! When I left I felt like a million bucks. I felt so much more beautiful than when I came in. My hair looks amazing! Ive been back to her several times and each time I love my hair. If you need hair or make up services definitely go see Bethany!

My wife drives from Carrollton to see Amy. She is great. Very nice place.

Had a great experience at this salon, twice now! Once for dry cut and then for color. Jordan was fantastic. She is thorough and listens to what I want for my hair. Loved that she also threw in a few tips or suggestions to make it even better. Love my color and I will be back for more in a month. The salon is clean and well organized. The other staff was very friendly and engaging as well. Definitely a keeper!

I have to admit, I had some reservations with getting my color done here. First of all, it’s in a mini-​strip mall almost in the middle of freakin’ nowhere. I have two simple rules for my hair: (1) Don’t get them done at the mall and (2) NEVER go to a strip-​mall hair salon. Additionally, if my parents didn’t live in the development across the street I highly doubt I would even know about this place.
But I came here anyway because locking down an appointment at HeadRush with my preferred stylist would’ve taken me weeks. I walked into Hot Lox and inquired about the color process. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the receptionist and she immediately listened to what I wanted. She told me she would consult with a stylist and a few minutes later I met Lauren.
Lauren looked at my color, studied my hair strands like a math problem and asked me a bunch of questions. She was VERY thorough. She was so thorough, in fact, that her questions were starting to annoy me. But I knew that she was asking because she wanted things to be perfect. After the 15 – 20 minute consultation, I booked an appointment for the following Saturday.
Here’s another confession — I almost wussed out. But, hey, I’m a risk taker AND an optimist and figured that if it all went awry I would at least have a good story to write about on Unilocal!…But nothing went wrong. In fact, everything went right. Lauren was very attentive and made sure I was comfortable. She explained EVERYTHING she was going to do so that there would be no surprises.
I went from jet black hair to auburn red. The color turned out to be very subtle and, hell yes, even natural looking. It was a high risk but with risk comes reward. Believe me, I’m a financial analyst. ;)
I am definitely going to come back to touch up my roots in a few months. Give this place a shot, ladies. Don’t let the location turn you off. The girls here can rock the scissors and the dye bottle!
