The bed was decent enough, but I had so much trouble sleeping the two nights I stayed because I could hear the person one room over snoring all night… Very thin walls! Overall, the room was clean and worth the rate I paid.(Saved big time with priceline.) I would potentially stay again if I needed to, but the BIG factor that would prevent me from coming back is the customer service I experienced. The lady on night shift was EXTREMELY rude, and acted like she didn’t want to be bothered with even simple questions. I understand people have their off days, but I work in customer service myself, and you have to know when to suck it up and leave your problems at the time clock or look for a new job if you’re that miserable… I just avoided even speaking with her for the duration of my stay, but the other major WOW is the fact that when I mentioned the(lack of) customer service I got upon checkout — the morning shift lady agreed with me that customer service is important, and is what makes guests come back… but then she proceeded to make excuses for the terrible behavior/attitude from the night lady. Although the room itself wasn’t too bad, if I had to come back to Auburn, I would most likely look for another place to stay.

UPDATE: I’m dumbfounded, to say the least. Didn’t think a simple review would cause such poor treatment, and end with me being asked to leave. The front desk clerk, *REEVA* is one of the most rude people I’ve encountered in the hospitality industry. Not only is she inexperienced, but she’s unwilling to hear anything other than what she wants to hear. I am a recent retiree from the USARMY, SERVING20+ YEARS. Never have I experienced such horrible customer service, ANYWHERE. I do NOT recommend this hotel, and I plan to contact the owner directly. SAVEMONEY&SAVETIME, book elsewhere before they do this to you too! Lt. Col. Kathryn McGwire JAG, USARMY

Well priced clean room which has pretty much a traveler needs for reasonable price. Even have fans in bathrooms which hardly any rooms do anymore. Very pleased and we will stay here again.

Just stayed at the Guesthouse Inn last weekend and I had an amazing stay! The room was very clean and tidy, the beds were soft and comfortable, and the room included a nice size flat screen TV. I have stayed in a lot of other surrounding hotels in the same location and this one was by far the safest I have ever felt staying at a hotel in Auburn. The complimentary breakfast included with your room was great! They had biscuits/gravy, a build your own breakfast sandwich station, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, and much more to offer! I definitely recommend staying here if you plan on staying in Auburn, a great value compared to other hotels.

Never mind the decent overnight rate. This hotel is in serious need of cleaning, repair and maintenance. Cracked tiles in elevator, dirty carpet. Our room smelled like a smoking room that someone sprayed air freshener in. Room was clean however. Breakfast area tiny, seats dirty, eggs for breakfast not stored at proper temperature per food safety standards. It could be ok if they cleaned /remodeled and were mindful of the basics. Save yourself the trip.

I stayed here recently for a week for work and it wasn’t too bad. The rooms were clean, the hotel in general was clean and although it may have been in a questionable area of town, I felt pretty secure. The gal at the front desk was super nice, friendly, helpful and informative. The entire staff, even housekeeping was very nice and friendly. I thought the breakfast was more than other hotels offer, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sanwiches that you can make yourself with sausage patties, eggs and cheese, two waffle makers with stawberries and whipped cream, juice, coffee, cereal, breakfast bread products and a variety of spreads. The breakfast room was always well stocked and clean. In the evening, they have cookies & brownies at the front desk as well was iced water and coffee. The hotel is located right off the highway and train tracks, so you do hear that, but it’s no big deal. It is very centrally located to a lot of restaurants, shopping and a small casino(if you’re into that sort of thing) and a few minutes away from the Outlet Collection Mall. The walls are slightly thin, so you can kind of hear your neighbors, so make sure to be aware of that. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows, but the shower head water pressure was not to my liking. There is no swimming pool, but there is a jacuzzi that I did not use, so I can’t say anything about that. I think overall for the price it was great.
