THISPLACESHOULDBESHUTDOWN! Chinese food is my favorite and living in auburn, we don’t have a lot to choose from so I gave it a second shot hoping it would be a better experience. Boy, was that a mistake … I ordered the chicken chow mein(soft noodles), and their almond chicken which was a rubbery mystery meat. Not only was it a fishy tasting nasty flavor, there was HAIRINIT. when i called to complain the woman didn’t understand me and hung up on me. DONOTGOHERE, the health department needs to do a random check on these place.

I’ve been going here for 20+ years. It’s always fun to bring a regular in training. Their Mongolian beef is hands down the best. The more stars you can handle make it even better. Get to know the owner and get the«special soup».(Hot and Sour).

I suppose we should have listened to some of the other reviews. That being said, I try to give each business a fair experience. We started our evening by sitting in one of the six tables available in the«restaurant» area. Next door, the«lounge» that shared a wall and had an adjoining pocket door, was blaring Metallica.(Later we heard Ray Charles, Kid Rock, & Nirvana) there seemed to be several regulars over there. My girlfriend and I ordered a family meal. It included: egg drop soup, bbq pork, almond fried chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried prawns, and we substituted sesame chicken for the beef and broccoli that usually comes in the meal. It was $ 1 more for the substitution… For a cheaper item… But I expected it and I’m glad we did. It was the best part of the meal. The soup was pretty bland. Even after adding some soy sauce. The fried items were obviously fried in old oil. But, the meats inside of the oil soaked batter were actually prepared well. Not too over done and dry. The gravy for the almond fried chicken had only a flour taste. No almond or other seasonings. Oh well. I was surprised by the bartender that kept going back and forth. She was wearing open toed sandals… Who does that and works behind a «bar»? Or a restaurant for that matter. Perhaps she thought she was auditioning to be a cabana girl in Vegas? I don’t know. And the random airplane photos on the wall? Where did those come from? Like someone else had said. It is a take food home restaurant.

Tried to call in an order at 8pm, was told they were closing early and was hung up on.

I’d call this hole in the wall place more of a nice local bar with a Chinese restaurant. Not quite as much for families dining in as it is for take out and good bar food. We usually do go into the bar and order our food to go. Patrons, servers in there have been pleasant when we’ve been there. They do have dishes that are found on almost every Chinese menu but I think are prepared better here. The Topgun chow mein with pan fried noodles is one. It’s more of a chicken, shrimp and noodle stir fry with a delicious sauce rather than the more veggie heavy version for a change of pace. The sweet-spicy bone-in General’s chicken is good and so is the General Tao’s chicken. Something they make here which I can’t find anywhere else in town is Crab Rangoon. Deep fried pockets of crab/cream cheese mixture and served with sweet and sour sauce. These things are addictive

Just a so so Chinese place. Sweet and sour soup was a bit too sour. Moo Goo Gai Pan was good. Price is a bit high but portions were large.

I’m one of the people who orders take-out. I usually get the fried rice and bbq pork appetiser. It’s pretty good most days-a couple times the rice was a little on the dry side but usually it’s great, has always been flavorful. The Top Gun fried rice has shrimp, sausage, bbq pork in it, I just go with the chicken. I did not care much for the other items I ordered but that is just because i don’t like my chicken fried(like tempura). I think had I liked chicken fried like that I would have enjoyed it much more. The sweet and sour sauce was a good blend of sweet and tart.

This place has great food. large servings of fresh home cooking. The place is kind of small, some times packed so I make it to go. They have a bar next door with thin walls but its all good. They have the best general tao’s chick I have ever had, Fried won ton is awesome.

Maybe I need to really lower my expectations as I’m used to the quality of Chinese food in Chinatown. A coworker and I ordered some lunch specials. I got the pork in black bean sauce while she got the sweet & sour chicken. The meal starts with a egg drop soup which is nice and the food came out shortly afterwards. My main entrée was alright but nothing that spectacular, but the fried rice and chow mein that came with it was incredibly bland and lacked any flavor at all. It’s pretty sad that I’d rather go to Panda Express than this place.

If basing my review on the food quality only, this would receive a 5 star rating. Sadly alot more goes into a rating… The owner is a grumpy ungreatful for the incoming dollar jerk really. He does not give any indication he is greatful for the business, rather he is doing me the favor of feeding me. No smile, no please, no thank you or come again. The bar is loud and not a place you would want to bring family too. Lots of swearing and drunks all around. Like I said though, the food is the best! Just ignore the grumpy ungreatful owner and atmosphere and all will be great! Take out seems like an excellent option!

Food is great, lady waitress great, however, if you go on Wednesday when the lady waitress is off, the owner, with a wonderful scowl on his face«waits» on you grunting and acting like he’s pissed off about something. What he should be pissed off about is why he allows the derricks in the bar to drop«F» bombs left and right at boom box volume that sort of makes eating there at times uncomfortable. I’m sure they could quadruple their food business if they could tone it down in the bar, but they must make more money in the bar.
