My gf told me this story after visiting. She claimed it was like stepping through the doors of Willy Wonka, minus the abundance of candy and chocolate. You enter and there is a phone, sitting on a small table. She called and asked where the front door was to get bagels. The lady on the other end responded right here. She was turned off by the ladies lack of courtesy with a first time visitor. My gf did not know the types of bagels offered. She also expected more of a store atmosphere. Due to the previous post indicating that they got all this food for 10 bucks. She may not be returning, but will possibly arrive next time with a better game plan.

I don’t love the bagels at Finagle, but you can’t beat the 20% off!!! Unfortunately, I’ve found that the people who work there are total jerks. Most of the drinks can be purchased through vending machines, and after placing my order I sat down and wanted to go buy a Diet Coke from the machine. I realized I didn’t have any small bills and the mean lady working there wouldn’t break my $ 10 so I could buy a beverage. I thought it was unbelievably rude, especially because aside from OJ and I think milk, drinks are only available at the vending machines. This place also has a lady who sings children’s songs on Wednesday mornings. Her name is Jeannie Mack.

I just got back from my jaunt out to the Finagle Outlet, and I was a little disappointed, only because it was not what I expected. Instead of racks of day old bagels in plastic baggies waiting to be sold for cheap, it was just another Finagle store. That said, I was also pleasantly surprised. They had their normal selection, PLUS because you’re at the factory they give you 20% off your whole order. We scored a bagel with cream cheese, a breakfast sandwich bagel, a half dozen bag of bagels, a container of cream cheese, and a little orange juice for $ 10. Overall, worth the occasional trip, but the Pepperidge Farm outlet on the Belmont/Cambridge line is more what I was looking for.

This hidden factory outlet in Newton/Auburndale can be kind of hard to find even though it is visible from the Mass Pike, but if you’re a fan of Finagle-A-Bagel it is worth it. Located in an industrial park setting this is where the lovely bagels are baked all day, so you know you’re getting them fresh out of the oven! I love it when they hand you the paper bag and it’s still warm. Plus you get a discount off your entire purchase(I think about 20% or so). I usually stop by here if I’m bringing in breakfast treats for the office. They also sell their own cream cheese in little tubs and have a wide variety of sandwiches, soups, other lunch fare, coffee, etc. They are open early 7am — 3pm seven days a week.
