I went on Monday, to try the senior buffet… Boy, was I disappointed! Everything was dried out, and appeared to have been sitting there since lunch… I ate a little of my first plate, and then went somewhere else to finish lunch… It’s sad, because I like Golden Corral, and have tried then in different parts of the country… Maybe this should be called the senior left over buffet…

I needed quick and easy on the way back from the shore. I needed a place where I could just grab food as I wanted, where we could feed our son easily in a high chair, where we could go to the can, and where we could just spread out and chill for a bit before hopping right on the bridge back home. These are the areas where Golden Corral succeeded. Otherwise, food quality was mostly substandard with a few edible items thrown in there. The trick is figuring out which are the edible ones. Now I figured out how to do that. As luck would have it, I grabbed a table next to where the manager was eating his lunch. So I glanced at his plate. I figured he’d subliminally tell me what was good. He was having macaroni and cheese, a burger slider, and sausage and peppers. Guess what? Those items were not too bad. I also found that the fried chicken was half decent. Or at least they didn’t screw it up. But between my wife and I, we sampled several items that fell well short of acceptable. The tortilla chips for the nachos were stale to the point of being impossible to eat. The chicken for fajitas was dry to the same level of impossibility. The breaded shrimp could best be classified as rubbery. My wife ate half a plate of her food and gave up. Even on the dessert bar… the cookies we had were ok, but the strawberry shortcake shooter I grabbed was pretty much nothing but syrupy sugar. But here’s the real issue. Did you ever just really regret a meal you had? I mean, I didn’t get sick. Neither did my wife. And I really don’t even think we ate too much. Believe me, I have eaten much more at a buffet than this day. The quality here wouldn’t let me indulge too much. This was at 1 pm. This meal affected us the rest of the day. When dinner time rolled around, we just didn’t want to eat. We weren’t full. Food was just generally ruined for us that day. It stayed in our system like a lump. And all this time, I have seen commercials for Golden Corral, and just wondered what the big deal was. I wonder no more. There is no big deal whatsoever.

My buddy decided to drag myself, my girlfriend and his wife here for his birthday dinner, it was his day so we couldn’t say no. It’s typical buffet food, cheap and plentiful. My biggest problem with this place is the customers. Kids run wild sticking their filthy grubby hands in everything and dropping food all over the floor. At one point at had to save my girlfriend from the advances of what I’m pretty sure were a couple of gang members. I turn my back for 2 seconds and some dude with a dagger tattooed across his face and his friend are yelling«hey ma» and my girl and my buddy’s wife. If I wanted to get shanked in the chow line I would have gone to prison. Do yourself, you wife and your back(where the shaved down toothbrush shiv is sure to end up) a favor and skip this joint.

I came back in 2012. This was my thought. I went here two times and it was a hit or miss. The first time was average. But I was tired of going to Chinese Buffets. I wanted some authentic American food. The second time it was a hit. When I went everything tasted great. Especially the fried chicken. I am hopeful this place sticks around.

Hey Golden Corral Corporate-wake up!!! This property is poorly managed as this place gives the chain a bad name. ITSDIRTY! Sticky tables, apathetic employees and where is a manager with some backbone that can beat this place into shape before the health dept closes it! Soups at lunch time(2pm) 10⁄10 where like mud. Salad items were mostly missing. I am sure your owner knows this but for whatever reason does not feel compelled to change anything-maybe get a new owner?

The last time I visited a Golden Corral was about 5 years ago in Clinton, Arkansas. While I found it to be what I expected, and pretty good for food in that area, it was not as good as Western Sizzlin, another Arkansas favorite. I had no idea there was a Golden Corral in South Jersey, but there are two, and they have been around here for a few years. After seeing the commercial on TV, I told my wife there was one nearby and suggested we «try it out sometime». Friday night she didn’t feel like cooking so off we went to the Golden Corral! The GOOD: Price. The dinner buffet is 11.99 a person, and I believe it was another 1.99 for beverages. The Tropical Island Grill that they have been advertising? AWESOME. Teryaki Sirloin steak was out of this world. Grilled Key West chicken, also good. Cozumel Island shrimp? fat and plump, juicy and sweet. Wife liked the pot roast. We both liked the sweet potato casserole. Dessert was good. We split a small piece of carrot cake and a small bowl of bread pudding. Did not attempt the choco waterfall or the cotton candy that we saw everyone leaving with. The food itself here was so loaded with sugar, coated in sweet and crunchy this, and honey dipped syrupy that, we wanted to keep the diabetic coma in check. Our server was pleasant and friendly, took our plates and refilled our drinks quickly. The BAD: Cleanliness. This place was a mess. The floor needed to be vacuumed badly and certain parts of the restaurant smelled like sour bleach, if there is such a thing. Our table was sticky, and the silverware and plates did not look or feel clean. Some of the food was scary… Mac and cheese was dry, like kindergarten paste. I picked some up with the spoon and put it right back. Most of the vegetables were swimming in grease. I expected that with green beans and bacon, but the carrots? There were some things breaded I could not identify and there were no labels so I skipped them. Salad bar was just meh. Big tough pink tomato wedges with very little flavor were the big detractor for me. I know buffet food is going to be loaded with all of the things that are bad for me, I expect it and I embrace it. I just want it to be fresh, hot(or cold if need be), and at least identifiable. While there were some big highlights here, this place has issues with overall cleanliness.

So I was first introduced to Golden Corral a few days earlier in Pennsylvania, and my friends and I wanted to go again before heading back to NY. We were so excited to see that there was one only 20 minutes away from our hotel in Philly, but then we got there and our stomachs sank. First of all, they do not know how to keep their food stocked. We got there a good two hours BEFORE the were to close and the entire time I was there, the mashed potatoes and pasta containers were completely empty. I even asked the cooks and employees on five different occasions if they were going to refill them and they kept saying they were working on it. I could have just gone in the kitchen and boiled a pot of water and cooked the damn things myself. The made-to-order steak and the slow-roasted pot roast were tasty, but everything else just looked old and dried out. Nothing is more unappealing than seeing a film over soups, gravies and other food. I didn’t want to try any of the mayonnaise based items on the salad bar since I had no idea how long they had been out there. The Chocolate Waterfall was MIA and the desserts that were available were old and dry as well. There are some really good employees and some absolutely awful ones. The guy manning the steak grill was very pleasant, as was our waitress, but the cooks in the back showed a mind-boggingly lack of care. One guy had ear buds on and was listening to music and COMPLETELY ignoring everyone. Where the hell is the management?! Oh, and if you are planning to come here for whatever reason, keep your belongings with you when you go up to the buffet counter. When I was getting my steak, the cook looked over behind me and started yelling, «HEY! HEYYOU! DROPTHATSH*T NOW!» Some guy had come in and was snatching up cell phones and purses from a table!!! WTF!?! All in all, an awful area and a terrible Golden Corral. I don’t know if this is a franchise or a chain, but the powers-that-be really need to come here and see how this one restaurant is giving their entire company and awful name.

went here recently. The catfish is not on the menu anymore – real disapointed. There was alot to chose from as usual. Good amount of vegtables. Salad looked a bit washed out though. Taco stuff seemed ok. the desert’s were yummy as usual. I liked it alot. Didn’t use the chocolate fountain because of food allergies and everybody dips stuff in there im allergic too(strawberries). Other than that it’s good.

The first thing you notice when you walk through the door is the horrible stench coming from the nasty carpet. So I can only imagine what’s going on in the kitchen. This was my first time and my last time at the golden corral. The food was pretty mediocre too.

Wow! It’s amazing how a place can go down so fast in a year or so. I went when it first opened and everything was fine. My friend and I decided we were in the mood for a good salad bar so we went on a Tuesday night. It was moderately crowded as we got there at around 6:00 p.m. The minute we walked in I got this strong whiff of what seemed to be urine, it was disgusting! I literally looked around to see if there was a bathroom near the front where you first walked in. There wasn’t, and after we sat down the smell continued to be in the air. It was DEFINITELYNOT a food smell! The floor was just gross! Dirty tables seemed to be the norm as well. I finally found where the bathroom was(no where near the front door) but was afraid to go in seeing how nasty it was out in the food area. There was one girl working the register and getting the drinks…15 minutes later we were told to go sit where we wanted.(She was nice. the only good part of the«experience.») The food stations were half filled or empty. Several younger children were up grabbing the shrimp and other various foods with their bare hands. There were no parents around to supervise or had no desire too. The dessert area had FOUR dessert trays totally empty and crusty showing they had been that way for a while. These included the banana pudding, volcano cake, bread budding and some other tray that didn’t have a placard. The clientele were not very clean looking or smelling, nor intelligent. Pushing their way in front of you seemed to be their norm. The worst part for me was watching one woman scratching at her weave and then picking up Panko Shrimp with her bare hands. Needless to say, we pretty much wasted $ 25 for our meal because the place needs the health department to do a surprise visit. I still get the heevy geevey’s just thinking about this place. My advice… well, just re-read what I wrote… that should be enough.

Atmosphere– upgraded school cafeteria Food– Good! No complaints. Cleanliness– a mop and a broom could have been used more. Bathroom– absolutely nasty. Needs cleaning, and someone to maintain it. The rating is for the food

I usually like the Golden Corral, but this one is the exception!!! It’s so dirty! There was food all over the floor– in the dining area, and the serving area!!! Granted— the line was out the door, but still. Cleaning up HAS to be SOMEBODY’S job! I know it’s just a $ 10 buffet, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be clean. Things like that are of the utmost importance to me. They are also pretty slow at bringing out new food to the buffet. It seemed like every time I got in line, there was nothing but empty containers of food. This place is nothing compared to the ones I’ve been to in Maryland. They should take notes.

Good American style buffet. The food was replaced efficiently. The host was cordial and helpful. The waitress that served me and my family was nice he name is «sonya». We got there at 6:30pm and although it was packed we didn’t have to wait for a table. Since there was a lot of people the floor was not kept as clean as it should of been napkins under the table, the occasional fork on the floor. Overall my family and I were satisfied.

The selection of food is pretty good as far as American buffets go. They have a decent selection of salad items, and fried, roasted, and baked foods. The dessert counter is not to be missed either. What they are lacking, compared to Old Country Buffet, is fried fish, although they did have fried shrimp both times I went there for dinner. One problem is I overheard the employees bickering quite a bit so if you don’t want to hear that, don’t sit near the far right end of the dining area.
