Honestly felt like I was in someone’s home kitchen. Very authentic southern cuisine. The staff are all volunteers and everyone is so welcoming and polite which makes the experience for me. I wish this place was open for more than just lunch!

What a wonderful experience, the entire time I was greeted with a smile. It’s a cafeteria style set up when you pick your dessert, main option and sides. I chose the chicken livers which were very good and the okra was some of the best I’ve had and you can definitely tell that those green beans had some butter in them. The banana pudding had a lovely marshmallow topping on top. The waitresses were extremely attentive and very friendly. This place is so quaint while you’re eating your meal you hear the soft tone of gospel music in the air.

I had the beef patty, mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was good and it was more like a home cooked meal than anything I’ve had in town thus far. If you’re looking for a good, authentic, down home meal, this is definitely where you should go.

Just like Grandma’s! I love this place, I don’t know what’s in it but I can only assume it’s sprinkled with holy water and magic!

Great chicken! Good place for a quick lunch– casual and all the food is made as you would anticiapted it to be, great southern meal. You are served food«off the food line» and the price at around $ 10 was well worth it.

Great home cooking style food! Love coming here when I can during the week. There’s nothing fancy about it. Cafeteria style line. But oh my goodness the options are always so good and remind me of my grandma’s cooking. Highly recommend the peanut butter pie.

In the name of the lord, I think we are getting bamboozled. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. The strong religious overtones seemed to veil the fact that the food was average and overpriced.

Limited hours, but get here if you can! Cafeteria style service. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything looks good. Fried chicken is crispy and juicy. Several delicious looking vegetables, meats, and deserts to choose from. Very affordable. If you go for lunch during the week, get there early. Fills up quick.

In a word. delicious! I had my 50th birthday luncheon there with 15 friends from work. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, the service all 5STAR. The only disappointment… they are only open for lunch Monday through Friday.

Enjoyed a great lunch at a great establishment. Group party went for lunch and never ate here before. If you are looking for some good home style cooking then this is the place. The service was excellent as well as the establishment. It is a buffett style that is served to you and they have many choices. These choices vary on each day so you would have to look at the menu prior to going. As another patron mentioned, they are only opened for lunch from 11 – 2 so dinner options. So if you have the chance swing in and enjoy it like mom and dad made it.

I loved the food here. My ONLY complaint is that they aren’t open any longer than three hours a day. I would love to have them for supper once or twice a week! It is a must try!!!

Oh, how I will miss this place when I leave for Memphis. Everything they serve is deliciously well seasoned. The stand out for me are the fried green tomatoes. OMG! Sometimes, i just get a double order with my meal and skip the other veggies. The sweet potato casserole is so good. I love their fried pork chops. Perfectly seasoned and fried. My only gripe? They close at 2pm and they’re closed on the weekends. Such a shame. BTW, if you get a chance to go to a church service, please do. I love Dr. Kennedy’s teachings.

They put«comfort» in comfort food. It’s a buffet style restaurant but don’t be turned off by their style of service. The food is anything but mediocre. They have the best country fried steak, collards, and sweet potato casserole I’ve ever tried. When you first walk in you will see the buffet line. Grab a tray and make your way down the serving line. After you checkout, find yourself a table and enjoy some of the best southern food you’ve ever tried. This is straight home cooking that puts your grandmas food to shame. I do not have any affiliation with them. I am simply being honest. Their hours are odd so make sure to check availability before you head out. But I think it’s their benefit. Because they are only open for a short period they are able to put a huge labor of love into food preparation.

I was only in Augusta for three days and hoping to find some southern comfort food. This fit the bill. It’s like potluck Sunday with the family. All your favorite dishes that you can choose as you go like meatloaf, sweet potato pie, delicious broccoli casserole and don’t forget dessert… key lime pie, German chocolate cake and many more! I wish I was staying longer because I’d eat here again tomorrow. It’s only open for a couple of hours and it can be crowded, so come early!

Holy wow(pun intended.) Get double portions of the sweet potato casserole and shut the heck up. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Period.
