My boyfriend and I went here a few nights ago for our anniversary and we were kind of confused, because we thought it was an Italian restaurant, but over half of the menu was Greek food. I think it’s concept is a little confused. The staff was very friendly and welcomed/seated us immediately after we got in the door. The place is in a VERY awkward location next to a strip club, but I enjoy the history of a nice hometown restaurant. Usually Italian places serve bread, which they did but they brought it with the meal, however they did bring us crackers and butter… maybe it’s a Greek thing, I don’t know? Needless to say the pizza he got tasted horrible, it tasted kind of like baked cardboard and was cheese less. My Alfredo was watery but it was pretty good. Overall unimpressed, many better choices out here in Augusta!

I love coming to Luigi’s to have the baked spaghetti that is out of this world. The restaurant started in the 1940’s continues the family traditions and recipes. I recommend this place if you want great food and the ambiance of Old Augusta. If you are in town for the Masters golf tournament– you never know who you will see.

Extremely disappointed. Meatballs where disgusting. Veal Scaloppini was mediocre at best, wayyy too much garlic, and I’m not talking about someone with an aversion to garlic. Greek salad was paltry, one slice of tomato, 1 Greek olive and some iceberg lettuce drenched in oil and vinegar. Look. I get it. It’s kitschy, and it would be worth it if the food was marginal. But it ain’t. Service was fine. Wish I had just got a burger next door instead.

This place was amazing, great environment. Customers where very helpful with a selections and the music was old time sounding which matched the environment. Chicken fettuccine Alfredo was amazing. I’d Would recommend this place too anyone that is looking for a nice place to eat downtown Augusta.

The way the natives rave about this place I was expecting something special. Yet another downtown disappointment. Located in the more seedy part of downtown. Very pedestrian Italian/Greek fare. Tastes like grocery store freezer Italian.

I will not be back. Just moved here from iowa via Chicago and ive had my fair share of Italian. I would not consider this food Italian. 2⁄3 of the menu consists of spaghetti and meat sauce. I had a meat and egg plant dish that i didn’t finish and i always finish my food. My gf had ravioli and meat sauce that was prob frozen a then fryed. A friend had fettuccine Alfredo and it was cold and over cooked. The bill was 55 for three people. I would not recommend this place. And it was a Saturday service was below par. Im sad this was the first place i experienced in augusta. I hope you have better fair my sweet augusta.

One word: unbelievable. This has to be some of the best Greek/Italian food I’ve ever had. The roasted Greek chicken was full of flavor, moist, and a great portion size. The wine selection was small but concise and offered delicious options. Our waitress was attentive and extremely polite. The atmosphere was great and made you feel right at home! It was like stepping into an old Italian restaurant! Everything seemed to be homemade. I will definitely be back!

We live in Atlanta and we meet other friends to eat here a few times a year when in Augusta and have always loved the food and service. We are always treated like family and greeted with warm hugs and laughs. Not only do my partner and I join friends at Luigi’s but we take our family their, My –and her husband went there 30 years ago for there 1st anniversary!!. A warm family boutique restaurant in the old downtown area of Augusta GA.

Very bad service and will not come back, found it offensive when there was 11. of us waiting on two the OWNER told us we had to move«I’ve been here 60 years and your business means nothing to me!» Felt like there very picky on their patrions, I will not come back but guess that’s what he orginally wanted.

Very disappointed. Never felt more unwanted as a customer. I will NEVER go here again according to the manager or owner he doesn’t care because they’ve been in business 60 years. He didn’t care if we were happy. Long story short, we came with party of 11 and wanted the two tables for 6 because one of our friends needed to prop up leg because she had surgery. He insisted on separately us after we had already been seated. But it was his wording that upset us. He «Does Not Need Our Business And He doesn’t care.» Yes he said that to 11 people who walked in his restaurant. We were flabbergasted.

Had dinner there on a Friday night when visiting augusta. Not sure what all the hype is about. The service was poor, the server knew nothing about Italian food, when I asked if they had a pasta carbonara or anything with gorgonzola she had no idea what I was talking about. I thought the food was overpriced and not that good. I’ve had better Italian at the Olive Garden.

Food is good and service is great but the best part is people-watching. It’s a time warp. You’ll see

Having traveled and enjoyed Greek and Italian cuisine, I must say Luigi’s rates outstanding. I love the old-world, warm, family atmosphere. The food is outstanding … their Greek Chicken surpasses all other I’ve had. You can’t beat the friendly service. And the price is more than reasonable. I’m looking g forward tony next Luigi’s dining experience.

As a businessman who travels, the places I prefer to dine at are ‘local’ spots that are recommended by clients. If I wanted chain outfit food, I can get that at home. Luigi’s was one of those recommendations that was spot on. The atmosphere was, well, a time machine but the food was fresh, the wait staff was pleasant and efficient. And, the most important thing is, they serve veal. An Italian restaurant that doesnt serve veal is just an ordinary food joint. Too bad Luigi’s is so far from home — it would have been nice to return again this year, with my wife and daughters cause I know they would enjoy the food, the jukebox with the old songs, and the atmosphere.

The service here is perfect. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. The owner was visible and checked on our table. The environment is perfect — exactly like my hometown, old-school style(non-franchise) restaurants that I grew up in. It’s not formal, it’s not casual — it is comfortable. I ordered the spaghetti and sausage — this is how Italian sausage should be. Nowhere else south of Virginia have I found this. Spaghetti was angel hair. Also ordered the half chicken — with Greek spices. Lip-licking delicious. If I’m not able to get to NY every weekend, I can come here!

Luigi’s is one of our favorite local restaurants, and has been in its location in Augusta for several generations. We truly enjoy eating there — the staff is always very friendly and the food is very good. I have eaten almost everything on the menu, but my favorites are the Greek chicken and the Luigi’s House Special pizza. The garlic bread is fantastic and the desserts are dangerous :) The house Chianti is our wine of choice when we dine in. We enjoy the atmosphere and listening to the juke box when dining in, but also sometimes call for pizza for pick up and it is always ready when promised. I highly recommend Luigi’s!

Every time I step into this place I feel like I’ve been transported back a few decades and I feel like I’m going to see the Godfather sitting in the back. I love the old world style of this place. I always get the toasted ravioli because it’s delicious. Their sauce is amazing and I imagine it’s pretty authentic. We got the stuffed grape leaves as an appetizer and they were delicious. The wine was pretty good and the service was decent. I rated this four stars because the location is terrible. It’s situated among some seedy strip clubs which I imagine came long after the restaurant opened.

Post#2(because my other is filtered for some reason) This place is rude, unfriendly, and unaccommodating. I went there about two weeks ago(the second time I was there. The first I had pizza, and it was an in and out experience) The staff seemed like I was bothering them, more than doing them a favor by giving them business and tips. All I wanted that day was some good chicken Alfredo, and figured this«authentic Italian» rest. would do the trick. Not. First it is situated between two disgusting strips clubs in a run down part of Broad Street in Augusta. I asked the server if I could have mahi mahi(just a piece of fish!!) on my Alfredo instead of chicken(because they offered it on another entrée). She was very stuffy about the request, said no immediately, and waited for my answer. I asked her to ask the owner. He said only if I paid for the entrée it was served on(15.00 platter) PLUS the Alfredo fett. cost(8.00). Mind you, adding a piece of chicken was only 2.00, but 15.00 for just one piece of mahi. No thanks. I am sorry but most restaurants will accommodate you, especially if they have the ability to make something not offered on the menu. I found this very rude and settled for the chicken Alfredo. The food came out and was bland as ever! I added so much salt, pepper, and parm cheese that it looked totally different. It still was not that cheesy, and I only ate it because I was so hungry. The staff was very unenthusiastic and I was extremely disappointed. I will not be going back there, ever. I suggest you do the same.
