We came here with our parents and sat on the patio. Service was great, and the food even better! Best food in the area! Chicken with waffles was phenomenal! They serve candied bacon to all of the tables, yum!

I love Unilocal because it helps me find places I would never know about. We were staying at the Best Western in Washington and I Unilocaled restaurants and this place came up. So glad it did because the Fried Green Tomatoes topped with crab was the food highlight of my 3 weeks of traveling through KC and St. Louis. I am a Maryland girl and I love Fried Green Tomatoes– you have to come to the Silly Goose and order these! Another delectable surprise was the taster of bacon on a skewer they give you. I can’t remember what they put on the bacon but it’s the best bacon I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the pig wings too and I’m not always a fan of pork but they had great flavor. You can’t go wrong here everything we ordered was superb. I enjoyed the steak and loved all the flavors. The restaurant is cute and the service was fun and casual. The town looked adorable too.

Awesome food. From Chicago and this restaurant can easily beat any restaurant in a big city. Both service and food was excellent!

Can’t say enough about our fabulous evening at The Silly Goose. Fried green tomatoes topped with crab for starters was outstanding. My wife had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and Carrots which was melt in your mouth wonderful(I sampled so know how good it was). I had the pork chop with gumbo sauce and rice. Pork chop was delicious and the gumbo sauce really added a wonderful flavor. The young waitress was attentive without being overly so. Great local wine selection made this a very special night.

My husband and I went to Augusta for a little get away and had dinner at The Silly Goose. Everything was wonderful! I have never had as good a meal out anywhere. Highly recommended!

Props to the chef. They have clear talent that warrants more diners than I spotted on a slow weekday eve. The environment was overly need and spotless while welcoming at the same time. The staff were a bit on the side of inexperienced but extremely friendly and nice to be around. The blackened steak was excellent albeit a bit more costly than I feel the area can sustain. Local wines and Missouri beers rounded out the menu and they were were much more value-priced than their food counterparts. A small desert menu would be welcome – even a summer cobbler. I will return but will test other options on the menu.

a foodie’s delight! what a gem in a small vineyard town! The food is great! I ordered the trout which was lightly panfried with a succotash on top! And my girlfriend got the Chicken and Waffles, perfectly seasoned and crunchy chicken with sweet syrupy soft waffle! Wonderful dinner in tiny Augusta! We’ll definitely be back!

A true diamond in the rough. A place good enough for the city, yet hidden away in a small town. Amazing food. Fried pickles were some of the best I’ve ever had. Sweet potato shrimp and grits were absolutely amazing. Chicken and waffles were very good as well. Decent(not great) selection of local beer and wine. Only complaint I could muster up would be with service. It wasn’t bad, just not good enough to give it a better rating. Everyone was very nice, but I did have to remind them to bring more water(a pet peeve of mine). Plus our server didn’t tell us about the specials(which we heard another server tell the table next to us). But again, everyone was still very nice. And the food, worth every penny.

Friendly and accomodating service and wonderful menu. But if you suffer from hypertension or renal diseases where salt intake must be monitored, then stay home! The wine selection favors local wineries and I applaud them for that, but… Out door patio with charming lights are a definite plus. They will even allow you to bring your pets there

Amazing filet mignon! You only need a butter knife to cut into the filet. A tip for this restaurant… if you are going on the weekend, make sure to go early, they tend to run out of desserts. Also, if it’s not on the menu, the chef cannot accommodate special request, like a cheese dip without crawfish, as it’s already mixed up. Additionally, while they tell you they have a full bar, they really don’t. They may have hard liquor, but they do not have any mixers other than club soda. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Great dining experience.

Medium menu, but a great variety. The salads, side, and mains are great. The food has great, distinctive flavor that derives from good ingredient choices. Atmosphere is a simple country design. Also has a good outdoor patio and a good beer /drink selection.

Silly Goose is a must! Great location, fantastic food and staff. The food is absolutely excellent. We were advised to try the fried pickles and the filet. Both did not disappoint! The filet was so tender you could cut it with a fork. My wife had the chicken and waffles. A very classy/upscale version of a simple dish. I am a filet fan and thought the chicken and waffles were just as good! You would be doing yourself a disservice to not try the Silly Goose!

The patio was perfect on a Sunday afternoon. I had the fried chicken & waffle sandwich with watermelon salad. It was amazing! I did snag some of the sweet potato and«regular» fry mix; they were seasoned so well they didn’t need to be dunked in anything. The pulled pork sandwich was also very tasty. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and what a scenic view along the drive!

Amazing! This is truly one of the best kept secrets around. Everything we had was outstanding. Fresh fried green tomatoes and fried okra. The shrimp and grits were fantastic and the chicken and waffles, their signature dish, was the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly prepared and the bourbon maple(real maple) syrup was over the top. I only wish there was more of it! If you are in the Augusta, this has to be a must stop even over the wineries. You will not be disappointed. They also serve all of the local wineries and serve local beers. I hope this place is an amazing success. It is certainly worthy of it.

This place is beautiful. I’ve never been inspired to write a review before but this place is so good and I was so pleasantly surprised to find it here on a camping trip! I came with a large group so I was able to try a variety of things on the menu. I had the seafood low country boil and it had SO much flavor! The seasonings were delicious. I’m so often disappointed by boils because they are often dry and flavorless unless you another them in butter. The butter was deliciously seasoned but it almost didn’t need it! The crab bisque was delicious too! And the French fries/sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and salted perfectly. Didn’t even need ketchup! Beautiful atmosphere. Sweet service! So helpful, kind, and we even chatted with the owner. GREATFOOD!
