Just held our son’s third birthday party today and it was a Batman theme. We asked Goochie Cakes if they could do a Batman cake for us and of course they said yes. Between their website and other Unilocal reviews, we were sold. The work looked amazing and everyone raves about the quality of the cake and workmanship. Well our son LOVED the cake. We loved the cake also but he made this a 5-star review. The smile on his face was precious and you could tell he thought this was the greatest day ever. Not only did he get all of his favorite Batman toys… he got to eat him as well! Thank you Goochie Cakes! Thank you Amy! You did a spectacular job on his cake and we could not have been happier. We feel you went above and beyond and we know that we made the right decision. We will be seeing you for our other son’s January birthday very soon. Have a great Christmas and New Year Goochie Cakes! Thank you again!

I got a Groupon to try Goochie Cakes and ordered 24 cupcakes. When I purchased the coupon, I was told that I would have no problems getting vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting, though they refused to reserve the cupcakes in advance(I get that, its a Groupon), the manager assured me that I would have no problems picking out 24 mini cupcakes that were vanilla flavored when the time came. Well, I arrived to pick up the cupcakes exactly when I said that I would arrive and they had already chosen 24 for me, including red velvet and chocolate cupcakes. 90 percent of the cupcakes used to fill my order were not even on display, telling me that they were not made that day and were not fresh. I asked if I could please get all vanilla cupcakes, as per my original request, and a rude woman refused, saying that it would«clean them out» of cupcakes for the day if she allowed me to take 24 vanilla cupcakes as per my original request. Well, since it was the end of the day, so I don’t really see a problem with that(I mean isn’t the goal to clear out the cupcakes to make room for more?), but since they clearly save and reserve old cupcakes for advance orders, I guess that is their business model. I had planned on getting four large vanilla cupcakes to go with the small 24 cupcakes, but when she treated me so rudely and refused to give me the cupcakes that I wanted, I just took the 24 cupcakes, went to Cakes by Karen and purchased a vanilla cake, and used the mismatched cupcakes from Goochie Cakes on a side table. Never going back here.

Hate this had to be my first Unilocal review. It saddened me baddd to give this establishment one star but here’s why. Ran into Goochie Cakes around 8:20pm for our family late night sugar munch. It was happy hour so we got our 4 cupcakes and skipped out. Got home ready to tear into these bad boys and 3 where hard. I have been here maybe 15 to 20 times and NEVER had one as hard as I received. No biggie, call the store, the clerk says come the next day, talk to the baker no problem! Go this morning and proceed to explain on a consistency level that we’ve never gotten cupcakes this hard, definitely not trying to criticize the work because out of thr numerous visits this was just«out of the usual» for us. Customer service is everything. Maybe this was a bad morning for the owner, I don’t know, not my job to find out but it started to appear that maybe she took offense for me bringing it back. She proceeded to grab other cupcakes out the case stating all the while that she ate 2 of the same ones this morning, they are ALWAYS like that and she apparently didn’t see the problem. I apologized… I did! I felt bad, I wasn’t trying to be rude, I just wanted the same soft cupcakes that I’ve had on my many other visits. Did not happen! She was rude and I had to tell her so. She kept asking if I was there for a refund and I wasnt, honestly, I had brought them back in hopes that we could just switch them out and continue our day but she clearly was 1) not in the mood and 2) not very friendly. I went there with my 3 yr old who loves this place and I had to walk out, with a refund and no cupcakes, almost in tears, because she(my daughter) bust into tears once we hit the door. I had to tell her that maybe we shouldn’t come back in the future if the slightly hard cupcakes where what we could expect on future visits since, to me, this was not what we had been buying. When I say we loved this place. we did.what a cool spot to take your kids for a snack treat and I hate that this exchange between owner and customer is what is prompting me to never go back and maybe she was not very good morning but she left me feeling as if I should have never walked back in with my problem, she never apologized, and was just short and rude. By the way, she has done this for 2 years, weddings, birthdays etc and according to her NOONE has ever complained about these cakes. I guess I didnt get the memo. word to the wise, if you do love it. suck it up and just eat the cuppycake. to avoid what we went thru this morning. Now off to nurse my daughters broken cuppycake dreams. I actually shed a tear because she was so rude. One star. because of the owner. just one star!

Yowza!!! Amy Gooch created a Star Wars themed masterpiece for my daughters 9th birthday party that not only was amazing to look at but freaking delicious! I can’t think of a time I’ve tasted a better red velvet cake! Seriously! Moist, delicious … perfect on every level. We had so many people compliment the cake and I have no doubt we’ll be back with Amy for our future cakes. My Stepdaughter is getting married in August and she was totally impressed with this cake! Beyond the actual cake, Amy was fantastic to work with! She was friendly, easy going and smart … she discussed my ideas with me and then exceeded any expectation I had. Amy is someone I will happily continue to support her business. As I told Amy, the cake and the experience, was totally badass!

These are the best tasting cupcakes around. Yes, 5 stars, because I think they are that good. The red velvet with the cream frosting is to die for. Not fake tasting, not overly sweet. Just plain good, and they taste like they are made with quality ingredients. Expensive but worth it IMO.

Cary rarely does this place disappoint. We get these probably once a month. Tonight we had the s’mores, Oreo, red velvet, lemon, and chocolate chip. They were all pretty good, some of them great. My favorite was the lemon and they told me it was left over from a couple days prior. The s’mores was probably my least favorite but that’s not saying it was bad what so ever. Compared to most cup cake places they are relatively cheap.

Fantastic! We just had my son’s sixth birthday party. He requested a blue dragon as his theme. The cake was beautifully decorated with a blue dragon on top. Truly a creative masterpiece and yummy! Thank you Goochie Cakes.

I am beyond impressed with this bakery. The owner was able to make me a cake exactly to my liking. She matched the picture I sent her to a tee. The cake was delicious and we will definitely be going back for future cake needs! The price I paid seemed so low for the amount of cake I got as well. We will be eating cake for a while now :).

Awesome cupcakes… so good! A little pricey, so I usually only get one or two as a treat. Friendly staff and great product. Love it! As the other reviewers said, they used to be called Bliss and were located up by the fire pit on Main Street in Southlands. This location is bigger, and they have more things to offer now.

The guy helping me was so friendly. He took time to explain every detail of everything I asked, but in a friendly, helpful way. Service was great. I was surprised at the price. It seemed way too expensive. The cupcakes are delicious, but it’s hard to swallow the fee. This wouldn’t be somewhere to order for a big party, but maybe a once in a while snack.

I love cupcakes. But $ 3.00 for these tiny things is not good. The girl was nice and all but dang.

We stopped visiting this shop after several weekly visits for nearly two months straight. On our last visit the staff was less than welcoming and to be honest it was very awkward. The owner was there and she took off to the back without saying a word. The cakes are good, but less than stellar service will always make me think twice. We now drive to Littleton for cupcakes.

Just went in to get a birthday cupcake. They did not accept credit cards so bring cash! They should have a sign on their door and should have told me when I called to check on their hours of operation. They put the cupcake in a box and it flattened the frosting. They thought it was OK. If I was going to eat it, it would have been ok. We were giving the cupcake to a friend for her birthday. If I wanted to give her something that looked like crap, I would have baked it myself. Didn’t try it, don’t care. Taste could not overcome this one star rating.

Ok seriously I’m a cupcake expert. We hit happy hour at 8. My little ones had the cake pops. I asked the gentleman. He recommended the coconut. Holy wow was it good. Great flavor. Nice and moist. I’m gonna order for my kids birthday. Diet ruined check! But so worth it

You can’t really go too wrong with cupcakes. The cake tasted excellent and had a great flavor. I know other reviewers complained about their being too much icing, but how can that really be a problem? I thought the prices were a touch high. 3 cupcakes cost $ 10. I swear I’ve paid less than that in Vegas. I’m sure we’ll be back as the cupcakes were good and it’s a great location.

Once upon a time there was another cupcake shop on Main in Southlands, then it got bought and moved to a new spot near the movie theatre and re-branded as Goochie Cakes A Rock-n-Roll Bakery. I like the spot as it is convenient to the other dining options and movies, but I have to say I was a little worried when it popped up in there. This spot seems to be the place where cute shops go to die(Maggie Moos — gone, Maroon Belles Chocolate — outta here). So here is hoping that Goochie can snap the bad luck that spot has! They have a decent variety of cupcakes and they are all moist and flavorful. They are a bit pricey for the size, but it is a fun once in awhile thing that I am willing to spend the $$ on. It also seems to do more than just cupcakes and has the option to order custom cakes, this is very nice as sometimes you just want something that makes more of a statement than just a cutesy cupcake. I really like the vanilla strawberry, hubby likes the lemon and the step son only does vanilla — so those are the ones we have tried and like! Give it a go, let’s hope it stays for a long time!
