Second time here. Small bar. Not that that’s a bad thing. They have poker on Wednesday. Haven’t tried the food yet but it looks good. Only thing keeping me coming back is $ 2.25 pints.

I went for poker night. I think it was a Tuesday. It was reasonably priced and everyone was friendly. The hot wings were gross, and so drowned in sauce they were inedible. The fried wings however, were perfect, crispy and delicious.

We went to this bar not knowing that it’s actually switched hands from Nick’s Place to Last Stop Bar. We used to go to Nick’s Place and would tell our friends about it(you can see my review for Nick’s Place) but unfortunately, the new place is not nearly as good. We walked in and everything looks the same, so we sat down at the bar. First thing we noticed changing is the menu. We asked for the breakfast and dinner menu and was told they now only serve dinner after 6. I ended up ordering the roasted chicken and my bf got the Mediterranean salad with Salmon, and my bf asked for the fish to be lightly cooked. My roast chicken came with a soup, and on the menu there were 3 soups listed: tomato basil, soup of the day, and green chili, prices were all the same. When waitress mentioned that today’s soup is tomato basil, I asked if I can substitute it with green chili and was told it was fine. The green chili came out first. It came with crackers, and our nice friendly waitress asked if I’d like some tortilla instead of crackers, since they go better with the soup. I said sure, if that’s not too much trouble. What I thought was simple kinda turned the night. For some reason, that green chili and tortilla became a conversation between her, someone who looked like a off-shift waitress across the bar, and someone who seems like the manager. I guess someone asked her why I get a tortilla, and then something about green chili. To be honest, details aren’t clear but it was a good 5 min conversations about the green chili + tortilla. Right when I was about to tell the waitress«if it’s a problem, I can just not have the tortilla», it came out. I don’t really care if our waitress is new and you have to train her, you just don’t do it in front of the customers. The food came out. The roast chicken looked good but the sauce is a bit too salty. I ended up eating all the mash potatoes before eating half the chicken. My bf’s fish came out too cooked even though I believe the waitress did everything she did. In general, the food was just ok, waitress was nice, friendly and accommodating, but manager at the bar really only acknowledged us when we first walked in and when we left. You’d think he’d at least ask us how the food was when we’re eating, but nope, just talked to the other couple and the off duty waitress across the bar. I gave it a 3 star mostly because at least the waitress service was good, and the food was still ok. Comparing this bar to Nick’s Place, I have to say it’s a disappointment. Their happy hour menu apps looked ok, so maybe I’ll come by and try their happy hour to see if it’s any better, but other than that, we probably won’t be back again for food/hang out.
