I got the opportunity to check out the Piper Inn on two different occasions recently, as it was recommended by a co-worker, in addition to being located within walking distance to my workplace. The covered outdoor patio is a big plus, and I believe it might be heated on colder evenings. I noticed the place can get quite packed inside and out, never a bad sign. The menu is vast, with a good quantity of Asian dishes. I’ve been told the fried rice is excellent. So far, I’ve only sampled the mozzarella sticks and some of the hottest buffalo wings I’ve encountered yet. The wait staff is very friendly. The bar looks very well stocked — I’ll have to investigate further on another visit. I happened to notice that this was one of the few places I’ve been to in a long time that has both a pool table and an electronic dart board under one roof. Definitely recommend. It’s got that nostalgic, almost dive bar vibe about it, without actually being divey!

Honestly this is one of the two bars I’ve ever been to that actually showed some real heart. My boyfriend and I had just worked a double and had walked in to have a drink for a friend who had just passed. It was 20 min before close, 5 mins before last call. Matt and Tasha made sure we were taken care of. That really ment the world to us. Because of that night, we won’t even consider going to any of the other neighborhood bars.

Finally tried this place after driving by it once day for 2 years; heard all the rave reviews about this being the«best wings in town.» What a let down, from start to finish. The wings were bland, the sauce nothing special… I’ve made better at home with store bought sauce. That being said it was just OK. Aside from the mediocre wings, the service was not good. We ordered a side of fries which didn’t even come until we were done eating our wings. We won’t be coming back unfortunately.

Fun little bar! The wings are amazing as always and the ambience isn’t bad, even though the bar gets pretty packed at times. Pretty good staff as well… though it can take a while to get the check. Good little summer time spot!

Went here for the first time and I don’t think I care to go back for wings. Ordered the Chinese style wings and the sauce is disgusting. Ended up ordering the buffalo style. The waitress was nice and didn’t charge me for those. Service was great and that’s why I’m giving 2 stars. Food… not so great. There’s better wings places around.

No, no, no, the kitchen closes at 10:00pm…why can’t the GERBILS at Unilocal get this right? You idiots get your data for free and change restaurants a fee to remove bad reviews, why can’t you get the hours of operation right?

Born and raised from buffalo so here is an honest /short review. Best wings I’ve had here in Denver yet. With that said they could be a little crispier but the size and overall taste is fantastic. Oh and in buffalo we don’t call them buffalo wings… They are just wings.

I love this place. Great wings and Asian menu. Lots of bikers in the summer and it’s just a cool place. I also enjoy their burger. It’s by no means a burger joint, it’s just a simple, boring and cheap burger! I love it! Add some A1 and get blue cheese and ranch, and try the dumplings and wontons. And some cold beer…

Came here for happy hour and tried out two styles of their wontons: Crab cheese and beef. The beef wontons were delicious especially with the hot mustard. The crab cheese wontons were kind of disappointing. Barely any filling and the shell was chewy instead of crispy. Service was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. From what I could see, it’s mainly a biker bar for middle-aged bikers. Everyone was mellow, but the age range was 45+.

The wings were great. To the person who said the oriental style were too salty, our waitress recommended you get them in medium and they won’t be, which was true. The heat is about a step below other places — the hot was prefect but not very hot. Other than the wings, it wasn’t great. Bloody Mary’s were possibly the worst I have had. Whatever mixer they used was terrible, they should really make them fresh if they advertise them so much. The grilled cheese and onion rings were nothing I couldn’t do at home. I would’ve given a lower score but the wings saved them and I’ll go back for wings and beer but nothing else worthwhile.

Pretty bummed with our experience today at the Piper Inn. Wings and fried rice came out luke warm. We asked for some extra blue cheese and it finally came as we finished our wings. Drinks came first. But that was it. They never came back to refill us. Also, the tiny canned shrimp in the combination fried rice. We started coming here 25 years ago. Just to be fair, the two ladies that served us were very nice. They just weren’t available.

I am a wing girl, love chicken wings and seek out new spots for variety and flavors. All The ratings said go here so I did. Huge disappointment. The wings looked unappealing, tasted mediocre and overly salty and left me never wanting to come back ever!!! The Asian sauce was pretty much soy sauce and salt.

Nice little bar, I got carded for the first time in for ever it was nice. $ 3 Beers not bad to sit at a bar and play pool. I heard it through the grapevine this place has great Chinese food. And also they have scrumdiddlyumptious hot wings next time I come here and I don’t have a full tummy I will have to definitely try both.

I took a friend because the wings are normally really good. We got Asian hot & buffalo hot. The Asian were so salty I could only eat one. They weren’t hot at all, just extremely salty. The buffalo were better, but nothing special & no heat. Not sure if the best wings in Denver anymore.

Hadn’t been to the Piper in years, so we decided to stop in while on this side of town for lunch. Their Asian wings were just as I remembered them, large, juicy and covered in an Asian sauce that is out of this world. The waitresses & bartender are all very attentive to your needs and have a great attitude. Not much else to say about this short visit. Twenty wings, some drinks and a laid back atmosphere, a great end to a strenuous morning. Very glad we decided to stop in and reminisce a bit. Keep on keeping on Piper, great job!

First off, don’t let the motorcycles in front of the restaurant fool you. Some people may get scared, some people may be intimidated, but this isn’t the case at all! The people(including the staff) are extremely welcoming. The bikers, they are there to have a good time, just like me and you — don’t judge a book by its cover! Pretty decent patio as well, doesn’t get to hot and doesn’t get too cold. They have a pretty nice set up for that. Now, let’s get to the good stuff, the WINGS! Being the wing connoisseur that I am, when a place prides themselves off of their wings, I HAVE to go there and judge for myself. Well… as many times as I have had them, I have NEVER been disappointed. They are a good size, juicy, and full of flavor. They are definitely some of the best wings in Denver(definitely in my top 3). This is one of those places where you go out of your way just to get their wings. Yes, I have done it before and I will do it again. For you people that don’t eat«meat on a bone» they have excellent Chinese food too! Yes, I said it, Chinese food. Is it bizarre, yes. But don’t knock it til you try it! Piper Inn, you are definitely in the best of the best category for wings. 5 Stars!

On the front sign of The Piper Inn, it states Best Wings in Denver. I had to test that out. I went with some family members who frequent this bar and tried the wings based on their recommendation. I got the buffalo hot and they got the Asian medium. They all came out piping hot and looked inviting. I began chowing down and they were pretty good. Not as hot as I had anticipated, but they were good. I tried one of the Asian wings, and they had a great bold flavor. They were spicier as medium wings, then the buffalo hot sauce. I found that a bit weird. I don’t think they are the best wings, but they are pretty good. There are plenty of other places in the area that have better wings, in my opinion.

Piper Inn is always awesome. The Chinese food is good and the wings are great. My personal favorite are the beef wontons. Booze is cheap and the service is good if it’s not super busy. This is a biker bar that serves chinese food and wings, I’m not sure why people complain about the service. Are the wings the best in Denver? Probably not, there’s plenty of wing places. They’re damn good and the other food items are good too.
