Went here for a family brunch on Sunday. Great food and good service! We had 3 kids and the food came out very quickly. Service was on point. I had the egg Benedict with fruit. Great portion for the fruit and nice eggs Benedict. The English muffin was great, good portion of hollandaise, salty ham… very tasty!

I was hungry and not feeling well and had to drive an hour plus into Chicago so when I saw this place I made a uturn and grabbed food right away. It was much better than expected. I ordered the country fried steak and the creamy chicken soup and it was really good! I love eating at diners but usually the food quality is about average. This place is better than average and the service was prompt too. The best part was the price for lunch I was able to get a hearty serving of steak, potatoes, veggies, bread, and soup for just under $ 12. I don’t know if I’ll ever be in the Aurora area again but if I am I will definitely grabbed another meal from here.

Every Sunday after church we wish we knew of a great neighborhood eatery for breakfast or brunch. We had driven by Maxfields probably 100 times but never stopped. I am so happy we took a chance this past Sunday! We had wonderful breakfast options, portions, prices, service and the taste was so great! Not like the standard chains… Our server Rhonda was very welcoming and attentive. You can tell she takes great pride in the product and company as well as the joy she finds through providing midwest hospitality!

Wow, what a wonderful place! Some may feel the outside seems dated, but the sweet paintings on the window shows the charm to come as you enter. The place was hopping but the pace of the meal was perfect. Our server, Rhonda, was a delight and the food was hot and delicious. Not to mention well priced. Definitely a place to frequent! Glad we found this diamond in the rough.

This place was great! I live close by but never went to it out of habit of going to Blueberry Hill nearby… but not anymore! This place has better quality food(Blueberry Hill has slowly been slipping) and a great breakfast selection. Our waitress was funny and attentive and I never had to ask for a coffee refill because she was always there with a topper:) More people need to discover this little breakfast jem! Will definitely be going back.

Great value and have been happy with both visits. I was heading to Gray’s Mill for lunch and noticed $ 6.95 lunch specials and $ 6.45 qts of homemade soup. Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately South Moon at Gray’s Mill was closed until tomorrow. So heading back home took me here for a gyro, fries and soup just $ 7.95. I upgraded to onion rings for $ 1 more, worth it too. They put red onions on their gyros, which were a little over powering… I’ll need a tic-tac or three. Tana was my server and was very fun hearted. I look forward to another breakfast soon too. Can’t believe how long it’s been between my visits. I got soup to go and might need to go to a 5 star, if it’s as good as they claim. Homemade Split Pea and Cream of Chicken on the same day… don’t see that often. Also they have Chicken Noodle daily.

Of all the local breakfast places, Maxfields has the best food for the best price. I’ve been here a dozen times with my husband, and we frequently bring friends and family to join us. No complaints, only compliments! Gyro and eggs is my go-to!

Tried this place last week because it’s super conveniently located & we wanted to try something new(we usually default to Pomegranate Café). Overall a great experience. We were seated pretty promptly and comfortably. Orders taken and the food came out JUST in time… the 2 year old was starting to get restless… Quick! Throw some food at her! Everything tasted great. Only regret was that I always forget to ask for my hash browns«well done» when I’m unsure of the restaurants standard. Sole critique would probably be that we did wait a bit long, a couple times for drink refills, otherwise it was tasty, affordable & comfortable.

Upon arrival they gave us cold coffee and proceeded to ignore us. We waited 30 minutes and the waitress just stared at us and the manager could not compare this woman to do a job. I will never return to this place. And for some reason in order to post this review I had to give at least one star. I would have given no stars.

We tried this place a few times because it is very close to us. The food was ok, the coffee was stale and cold. The hostess at the front was a very friendly younger gal, but the waitresses were not personable at all. They seemed in a bad mood every time. No smiles. We felt rushed and it was not even busy.

My daughter and I go here for breakfast a few times a month. The food is always good, good size portions(we always end up with a to go container), and every one who has waited on us has been great! Just an overall nice place to have a good sit down meal. If you are in the area definitely check this place out.

I’ve been eating here for nearly three years. It changed owners a while back but I think the food has actually improved. I particularly love their soup. The clam chowder is my favorite. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The French fries are very well made. This a great spot for a quick, delicious lunch.

I really do enjoy our Saturday afternoon brunches at Maxfields. I love that when we arrive we are greeted like friends and treated as such. I love that the food has never disappointed and I can count on consistency. I’m a make it or break it type of girl and if I’m not happy, I’m not coming back. I keep coming back. The stuffed pepper soup, the tortilla soup, the pork chop breakfast, the strawberry cheese blintzes, every skillet on the menu, the omelets… always very pleased. I’m a realist, and I’m looking for really good food, in a welcoming environment, at a reasonable price; I found it and I will continue to patron this wonderful establishment until otherwise.

I went to this restaurant with my family and a few friends after spending several hours at a fall festival at a nearby garden nursery. We were all hungry, and Maxfields looked like it would hit the spot with some comfort food. I’ll start off with the positives: — It had a cozy atmosphere. This restaurant reminded me of your neighborhood diner people congregate at on Sunday mornings. — The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. — The prices were extremely reasonable and the portions decent. You’re not going to break the bank eating at Maxfields. Now the bad part: I ordered a roast beef wrap with french fries. The roast beef just didn’t taste right(I can’t put my finger on it). Further, it was soggy. I ate about ¾ of the first wrap and called it a day. I ate the rest of my french fries — which were good. I also ordered cream of chicken soup. Normally, the soup comes out before the main course. Maxfields wasn’t any different. The problem was that about a minute after the soup came out, my roast beef wrap was served. On the plus side, the soup was good. I just wish I had more time to eat it. My family and friends who were with me seemed to enjoy their food. I don’t remember them complaining about anything. I really wish Unilocal offered a 2.5 star option. I’d happily give Maxfields 2.5 stars. If I ever go back to Maxfields I will order something else and update this review accordingly. I’m always willing to give a business a second chance.
