My girl friends took me out here for a birthday celebration. We attended the«dirty show» absolutely hilarious. We had a great time only down side was a minimum drink charge on top of the ticket price of $ 50 each thankfully I didn’t pay. Over all great place and it’s something different to do.

Used a Groupon on a Friday night to see the Comedians from TV show. The shrine area in the lobby has a lot of nick nacks to see. Good stage, the staff were nice, and our service was solid. There were three stand up acts, each got better and all were funny. Wish the crowd was a bit bigger(30 people or so) but it was a fun crowd, a nice evening, and a really good value for 10 $(groupon) + two reasonably priced drinks. I liked for one more drink we could stay for the 10pm Improv show after for free, but we already had plans. Would go again even without a groupon

Went on Saturday to the Improv show. I would definitely go again. Actors /Comedians were very good. Very quick witted especially when dealing directly with the audience. Cost for the show was $ 24.00 per person. It is advertised as $ 20.00 but there is that pesky $ 4.00 surcharge that all these type of venues feel the need to hide until that last minute when you actually have to pay. Still the show was definitely worth the price of admission. One thing I think they really do well is that when you need a server there is a small light on the table that you turn on to bring the server. this is much better than having a server that keeps bothering you when you are trying to enjoy the show. I also highly recommend getting there a little early as they have quite a bit of Comedy Memorabilia from Movies, TV and other forms of Comedy all through out the venue.

This is a weird place. I like it. I don’t really know how to rate it. The comedy portion(which I guess is the most important gets 5 stars) the service was slow they only had one poor girl working the entire show. Because of that they started our show 15 minutes late which isn’t the biggest deal but no one told us why. I feel like someone should have came out and told us what was going on.

Tonight was my first time here and it was for my best friend’s 30th birthday party. We had about 25 people in the party and everything was wonderful! From getting tickets to the servers and the awesome performers, it was a blast! I can’t wait to come back again!

Well for being in the suburbs it’s an ok place… The comedy was funny! But the food and drinks need to be improved… Overall it’s more like a 3.5…Yes, I will be back and it’s because the improv is good and funny!

Went to the Comedy Shrine for the first time over the weekend and it was hilarious! The entrance to the place is filled with comedy memorabilia, it was like being in a comedy museum, fascinating to walk through. Drinks were reasonably priced and the app we got was very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to see another show next time we are in that direction. The improv was my favorite part. The only discouraging part was the bathroom wasn’t clean, someone had bad aim.

We watched the 10 pm Improv show. It was a good show and performed well. Please take note, the 2 drink minimum per person is a must. If you don’t buy the minimum drinks they will charge you anyway. So make sure you order your drinks before the bill is printed.

Stand up acts were awful. It was the worst show we have been to. Even though the headliner had been on Leno he was using his iPhone to remind him of jokes to tell. The whole show was awkward from the first comedian to the last.

This is a fun place to start of a night for sure. I usually do the late night improv shows and the cast has never let me down… but the crowds have made for some weird feeling that make you want to go home and scrub yourself and hug your children… to many weird dudes yelling out penis absurdities that make things weird. But the cast does what they can to spin it into comedy. Only negative performer related experience is the girl who died improv was noticeably yawning through the show one night… it’s a 10pm show on a Saturday which is early in retrospect. I kept pointing it out to my gf cuz it was actually funny She still was overall kinda funny but I pay to see you on your A game. At least fake it until the shows over. Some lady even called her out on t after the show was over and she responded with«what? It’s late.»

I went with a guest, we saw the adult improv show… which was cool, minus the rowdy guys in the back that kept throwing the people on stage off their game. It wasn’t too bad.

Had a great time here recently on a Saturday night! They put on a really fun, well put together show. We were there for the dirty improv show and we laughed a LOT. I like how it’s interactive– keeps you on your toes and paying attention. Their drink prices are really fair too, which is great.

I love this place. Have been a few times for the stand up performances, every time has been hilarious. If you appreciate stand up comedy, you will not be disappointed. However, if you are offended easily, you may want to consider alternative entertainment.

It was a good evening, but not a big belly laugh for me. The improv troop was funny, but didn’t knock my socks off.

Still making me laugh! Came here for my birthday last night with 7 other people and we had a great time! The standup comedians were folks I’ve never seen before and they were most definitely qualified. We laughed all night! The place was packed unlike the first time we came here. Our group ordered our tickets off of Living Social which was such a great deal — $ 18 for two tickets! BOOM. Helpful tip: if you get your tickets from Living Social, be sure to call ahead and make a «reservation» at the Comedy Shrine and let them know you did the deal. This made check-in for our group super easy and they already had a table for 8 reserved for us which was perfect. Still a 2 drink minimum which is no big deal. I was happy that after the 8:00 show we were told we could get into the 10:00 Naught Inprov show for free again! It was more crowded this time around though so space was limited. We had to rush to claim the free tickets. Same Inprov group we saw last time(minus one person) but that was a good thing! They’re hilarious and I highly suggest seeing that show. So fun and interactive. My husband loves yelling out suggestions. That in itself is entertainment. All in all, still a fan of what they’ve got goin on over at the comedy shrine. Definitely a fun night out!

Last night(1÷8÷15) was my second time at this venue. My first experience was at the naughty improv show which was a hoot. The comedians were hilarious! They worked well together and were fast to respond to audience suggestions and comments, very quick witted. Last night I had the pleasure to be part of the first«still not Friday comedy standup». As it was quite a snowy day not many people made it out but boy was it worth it. We were seated in the front row — which always freaks me out a bit because I don’t much like being put on the spot. However the comedians — even though called me out a little(it was all in good fun), were full of energy and ready to fire joke after joke; they just kept the audience going! So in summation it is 5 $ for 3 comedians, an opener, and a wonderful host, so really 5 comedians. Great price, great fun, fair drinks — it’s a win win win! Definitely check it out!

I snorted so much! Great time! Came for a girls’ night out to their Naughty show(late weekend show). Ticket was about $ 20 – 25 and there is a 2 drink minimum. Drinks are decently priced so the night didn’t feel expensive. I don’t like improv… but this show was perfectly funny. The place was packed and there were a good amount of people participating making it fun. Great place for friends or a date night!

This was my first time going to the Shrine in Aurora. My hubby and I had gone to the Shrine when it was in Naperville in 2009. I don’t remember much from the 2009 show but I think I thought it was okay! I have been to a lot of improv shows up to this point– many Second City shows, Boston Improv Shows, and San Francisco shows. To be honest, I didn’t have very high expectations for the Shrine in Aurora. However, to my surprise, they made me laugh quite often! When you walk in and wait in the hallway, there is tv/movie memorabilia all over their walls. I don’t really understand how they work their seating. They had like half the room with assigned seats and the other half did not. I assume the half that did not were walk ins? But I made reservations the morning of and they assigned me a seat a little farther than halfway back. Some of the non assigned seat people got to sit closer? I didn’t understand how it worked. Anyway, there is a 2 drink minimum. I got a lemonade… and it tasted like water with half a squeezed lemon in it– aka it was really watered down. I like when things start on time and this show started about 15 – 20 minutes late. Tisk tisk. The show itself was pretty good. In particular, there were 2 especially hilarious cast. One was a super skinny guy with black framed glasses(«Mind if I slytherin?»). The other was an older, bigger, man with gray hair(«Nanana Batman!»). I think they need to hire an additional helper to collect payments. The show ended and then one of the cast had to keep stalling and talking to the audience to keep the audience in their seats so that the server could collect payments from everyone. Overall, despite the small annoyances, the show was pretty funny. I’d definitely go back!

This is one of my favorite places to go in the area. I remember my first trip here. I had seen improv before at improv Olympics, but they do a different kind of improv. This is exactly what you see when you watched Whose line is it anyways. The owner was in the show, and still makes me giggle like a little teenage girl every time I think of the funny things he said. Totally related to my life. I was amazed by it. They mentioned that they offer classes as well. My wife(then Girlfriend) found a groupon for my first class and gave it to me as a Birthday present. I loved it so much, I keep taking classes. Now I’m even in some of their shows. I’m still a novice at this. But I have a great time, and have met some of the nicest and most talented people that I have ever known here. I mean I tripled my friend base in like 2 lessons. You make long lasting connections here. Even if you’re not inspired to be a comedian. These are life lessons too. It is my happy place every week. When I don’t have a lesson on a week, I feel kinda lost. I actual proposed to my wife here, during one of my shows. I walked off stage and did it. They were so awesome and encouraging. I’m just glad she said«yes». Imagine if she said no, in front of a huge audience and I had to keep performing after that. That would have been a total, feeling good buzz kill. They have things you can do with your buddies and things you could do with your family. And the two drink minimum can be used on Soda, which is $ 2 a drink. So, the prices are not bad. It’s like going to see a movie. Except live. And most of the cast are much better looking then Tom Cruise. Here’s the tip though, if you join their email list and like them on Facebook, a lot of times(I mean almost every week) they offer free tickets or reduced(to almost nothing) tickets if you call them and say a goofy word.

Love. Please visit here. Support the arts. I about peed my pants laughing at the naughty improv on a Saturday night. Oh man, we’ll be back for sure. The prices are steep for tickets, but for a good reason. It’s quality. And the décor in the lobby is really fun to look at, and to reminisce. Lots of comedy memorabilia. Who has this stuff? Really? Two drink minimum, but why not enjoy a coors light? Beer list is minimal, think dive bar. Food= theater fare. Popcorn, candy. Go to dinner before, ya cheapskate. m
