Stopped by before the trail of lights on a Friday night and must have come at the perfect time because there wasn’t a long wait and our pizzas came out relatively fast. There is a decent sized selection of differing pizzas here for a food trailer establishment. The pricing is a bit higher than I expected for a trailer, but similar to what you’d pay at a restaurant… And since trailers seem to be more and more like tiny restaurants, the price isn’t shocking anymore. I try to get the margherita pizza any new pizza place I go and so I ordered that here as well. The sauce was bright and fresh, ample cheese, slightly skimpy on the basil. The crust is thin with charred bits that taste like roasted marshmallow, which is always delicious. Overall, a good, quality pizza that filled me up… nothing too crazy but nothing disappointing either.

Probably one of the better Neapolitan style pizzas I’ve had here in Austin. The best part is that it’s a food truck! I had the Margherita style pizza and wow it was delicious! This food truck is going places! I was very impressed :)

Decent pizzas. Not cheap, and similar in style to Stanley’s Farmhouse, and Bufalina. I got something with pepperoni that I don’t particularly care to look up, and while it was good, it didn’t really wow me. The dough is very nice, but my pizza was definitely soggy towards the middle. Making a great pizza with fresh tomatoes and sauce without a soggy rawness to the dough isn’t the easiest thing in the world and they didn’t really nail it on mine. Worth checking out, but I probably prefer 4 or 5 other places over them who are doing the same style of pizza.

I’m not a huge pizza-goer in the city of Austin, having grown up in the northeast where the bar is set high for good –za. However, I’m grateful that a friend asked me to bring over some pizza for a girl’s night and that the request landed me calling in some pizza from 40-North. 40-North is a great food truck that understands the importance of foundations and basics for great pizza, and because of that — beats buffalina(for which I can’t understand the appeal) by a landslide. The hot-honey is excellent, and is what will make me come back. Margherita is good as well. Crust is a little thick for my taste, but the flavors cancel out any real complaints there — having the brick wood fire oven is a major advantage, propelling this little truck that could to the top of the list.

Probably one of the best pies I’ve had in Austin. I got the funghi and the barbe. The funghi was easily the better of the two. The only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is because the crust on the barbe got pretty soggy. Still tasted great though. Definitely would recommend eating here.

It was a cool Friday night. I arrived at 7:30pm with my friends. The food trucks were busy and the parking lot was full, but not crowded. It wasn’t too noisy and lots of people brought their dogs, which were behaved well. There was occasional barking at another dog. The were wooden park tables underneath a tent. Trailer trucks aren’t known for their exquisite décor for eating. After looking at the menu, I decided on the eggplant pizza with sausage(can’t remember the full name). The pizza took about 20 minutes to come out. I was with my friends again so it was ok, I got to catch up with them. The pizza cost about $ 15. This isn’t your normal mediocre Pizza Hut pizza. It’s a gourmet pizza. Which means the cheese and dough are high quality and don’t taste like cardboard. The cheese was really sweet and melted in my mouth. The crust was thin and soft. The sausage(I had to add it in) added some nice flavor to the eggplant and cheese. It was heavenly. I usually have to pay double for pizza like this where I use to live. I haven’t tasted amazing pizza like this in a very long time. Skip Pizza Hut, come here, get the pizza for your netflix and chill session.

Badass pizza, friendly people, and a food truck. Doesn’t get more Austin than this. The hot honey is a great combo of flavors I’ve never tried before and their funghi is delicious.

Excellent crisp crust. Had the kale pizza with sausage substituted by artichokes. Was very tasty. Flavors were subtle but great. Not drowning in cheese or tomato based sauce. Pleasant outdoor seating.

Nice service, tasty pizzas and hot honey! Truly though, for me, the star of the show is their ricotta which is the best tasting and creamiest I’ve had in Austin. It takes a good pizza and raises it to really good. Their hot coppa ain’t too bad either. They also get points for having a brick wood fired oven in a food truck; pretty cool. Having a parking lot, while small, and BYOB are nice too.

This place serves excellent Neapolitan pies. I had a special with shishitos and wild boar soppressata and it was solid. Shishitos needed more salt, but that’s about it. Where else are you going to get pizza like this in south Austin? You won’t. I think you can bring your own booze here too.

Thank you Austin passbook for bringing me here! Not your average pizza parlor serving pepperoni and cheese, 40 North brings creativity to the world of pizzas! To my understanding, they specialize more in thin crust pizzas. All of the combinations sounded really good but we got the kale and the margherita pizzas. I usually don’t like tomatoes but 40 North has done it for me! The margherita was smeared with their sauce and dollops of the best mozzarella I’ve ever had. The kale pizza was really good too and the sausage had a really complex peppery flavor to it. The crust on the pizzas is so crispy and crunchy too! Only complaint is that the prices are pretty expensive and the pizzas are somewhat small, but they taste really good!

These people are PIZZAFREAKS, WARNING, HERELIVESSOMEPIZZAFREAKS. I got the Fungi with added pepperoni. Solid. I found it weird that none of their pizzas come with«pepperoni»(pizza 101) unless you add it for a small fee. Better than Southside Flying, more creative than Home Slice, neck and neck with Pizza Shop.

The sauce is perfectly sweet. The crust tastes like an authentic New York pretzel with the softness of a pillow. The hot honey on the crust is a must. This place is one of the best in the city.

Why isn’t there a massive line and wait? I can’t answer that but it’s only a matter of time before the rest of Austin catches on. The people are the best, they even brought us out dessert for my girlfriend(it was our anniversary). It’s BYOB and you can’t go wrong with any one of the pizza’s– I had the wild boar ;)

Fire in the hole! Finally, during the last hour in Austin, I stumble across a wood-fired pizza trailer! Molto Bene! Very good! With the right amount of fire to the crust. Excellent job Clint & Gabby. I’m leaving Austin with a smile on my face, and basil on my mind!

Pretty good, but not the best pizza I’ve had in Austin. We got the margherita and the eggplant. I’m a red sauce person so I enjoyed the margherita more, and the eggplant was a bit too cheesy for my taste. The crust was great all around!

So delish! I had the Roasted Eggplant(my fave) and Hot Honey. My only complaint is that the pieces were too big for me to sneak one in the car on the way home. Thanks!

Good overall flavor with a nice balance of sauce, cheese and meat. Nice moist yet somewhat chewy crust. Was somewhat distracted by the burnt areas on the crust. I’m sure it is to be expected when enjoying a wood fired pizza, but definitely took away from the overall taste. Definitely would have one again. Some of the better pizza I’ve had since moving to Austin. Good overall experience less the crust issues. A must try for a good simple pie.

This is definitely not your traditional pizza! If you are looking for a traditional pepperoni and sausage this is probably not the spot for you. However — I would absolutely recommend trying what they have going here. The combinations are interesting and innovative! 40 North is located on South First right across from Elizabeth Street Café. I would often drive by and notice their food trailer and see the word pizza, so I knew I had to check it out. Finally I found myself in the area needing some lunch. They are using the best fresh ingredients here! I ordered the Hot Honey, which is a san marzano tomato base with coppa picante, ricotta, parmasiano and hot honey … mmmm that hot honey! The pizza was cooked perfectly and was the right amount of sweet and savory. I had never had hot honey before but it was incredible! They also sell it in a bottle so you can take some home with you if you want! The crust on the pizza was cooked just right as well. The pizza is big enough to share. I tried to eat a whole one and couldn’t do it. I will definitely be back to try some of the other interesting pizzas such as the Artichoke Pizza, Funghi and roasted egg plant!

Great pizza!!! We ordered the Funghi pizza(mushroom) to share. The pizza was very flavorful and paired great with the wine we brought. The service was very fast and friendly. Great place to meet up with friends.
