I’ve used Allstate Towing twice (in July-ish and today) to haul my POS Jeep from various locations. John was the driver both times and I’ve always found him to be friendly and efficient. Allstate Towing has earned a spot in my phone directory as the Official Towing Company for the POS Jeep.

Although I’ve never been towed by these guys, I did get to witness one of their drivers nearly cause a wreck that could have ended with me needing a tow. This morning a flat bed tow truck pulled out of the Tower Automotive lot on Lamar about 4 seconds before an oncoming minivan was about to reach the driveway. I was behind the minivan which had to slam the brakes and swerve to avoid rear ending the truck which I’m sure does not have the acceleration needed to pull out in front of traffic and gain enough speed to avoid getting rear ended.
I don’t know if it was a ploy to get more customers i.e. smash their car and then offer to tow it for them or what. The best part was the fact that if he had waited until I and the minivan had passed there would have been no traffic on southbound Lamar for 3 blocks as there was no traffic behind us and he could have taken as much time as he wanted getting out of the driveway.
