I worked for many years as a senior physician recruiter so how I go about finding a doctor is very extensive as far as looking at their medical training, any malpractice, etc but then I become far more picky once I visit them because of how deeply I analyze skills. I have moved away from Austin and spent a good year looking for a doctor to replace Dr. Ambler. Having gone to him for many years, it is not an easy task. He was one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. He not only spends a fantastic amount of time with you to really help you as a patient, his knowledge is just unsurpassed. He impressed me every visit and my job was analyze doctors so I can be harsh and picky. Friends ask me my opinion about doctors and I can spend a great deal of time saying what to look for but if anyone in Austin asks me I simply say to go to Dr. Ambler, you can’t go wrong. You get in to the appointment fast rather than spending your time in a waiting room, he will be able to figure out a diagnosis for issues no one else can, and he has a good bedside manner. He is a fantastic doctor.

I hate finding new doctors. It stresses me out. Are they going to let you talk about more than one thing or schedule multiple appointments? Are they REALLY going to listen to what you have to say? Dr. Ambler really listens. I’ve been having problems with my back and my doctor before him just said to get a massage. Dr. Ambler took xrays and really tackled the problem and figured out what was wrong with me. He’s a great doc.
