Fantastic experience! Dena is a very skilled and tender massage therapist. Took the time to get to know where I needed the attention, and then gently yet firmly worked her magic. I feel so much looser, more relaxed and opened up now. Plan on stopping by whenever I’m in Austin again. Had a great time chatting with her as well, she’s very friendly and warm with a great energy. Highly highly recommended! (Thanks to my girlfriend for the Christmas present!)

Simply Amazing!!! I could sum up Dena with those 2 words, but she deserves so much more! I don’t normally write reviews, and I almost hate to write this because if you receive one of her massages you will be hooked! I’m so afraid I won’t be able to get in once the word is out, but Dena and her company «Applied Pressure «is well deserved of receiving spectacular reviews!!! I have had massages in many places, from all sorts of accredited massuse’s and none have come close to Dena’s skills. I have had really bad knots and neck problems and Dena has been able to not only give me relief, but explain why I am having the problems. She has truly worked my neck and shoulders in a way that no other Massuse has ever done. All I can say is, «Don’t take my word for it, go get a massage from Dena and feel the magic for yourself»

Rarely I’m @ a loss for words. All I can say is Wow! Dena has a Special gift. Her studio is perfectly located, scheduling was easy and her energy coupled with her mastery of technique makes Applied Pressure my number one choice when it comes to my well being. Dena has an amazing pair of hands (and feet)! Now I get significantly less amount of shoulder/​neck pain and migraine. My chiropractor first recommend to see a massage therapist as I experienced a spike in the number of migraine episodes past year due to stress. My shoulders felt like a brick back then, but it feels much softer now. I also feel that I am better attuned to my body now.

Dena is a fantastic massage therapist! Her energy was positive and her techniques were amazing! I thought I new what a good massage was until I had one by her.
I should also note I’m a triathlete so I put my body through the wringer and it’s nice to have someone helping me keep the machine going. Thanks Dena for the excellent service and care!

It’s always refreshing to find someone whose passion and talent combine for a great experience, especially when it improves quality of life so quickly — Sitting here a day after this massage with better posture/​range of motion and feeling about 10 years younger, I can’t sing Dena’s praises enough. I was long overdue for a serious massage, with years of lingering injuries and standard tightness piled up from a variety of activities. I gave Dena a rundown of my issues and she hit the ground running — literally — the ceiling bars above the table allow her to stand on your back (if necessary) and use the weight of her body to glide up and down your back in an incredibly effective manner, diagnosing problem areas along the way. She even addressed rotator cuff issues I’d failed to mention. Her awesome personality is just bonus points to top it off. As long as I’m in Austin, Applied Pressure will be part of the routine. Two thumbs up — waaaaay up.

Dena was fantastic! She took the time to ask me about my problem areas and then focused on those throughout. She was very nice and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Best message i have ever had! I have all ready scheduled my next appointment and plan on making this a weekly visit. All my other massages have felt good and were relaxing, but there was something different about my massage with Dena at Applied Pressure. She was really in tune with my body making a mindful evaluation and adjustments immediately to work my muscle that needed attention most. After my massage I felt I had improved posture, loosened tension, relaxed and all around enhanced. Location is convenient, parking was easy, the space was quiet and inviting. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

I don’t like to give away secrets, but she’s too phenomenal to keep to myself. I’ve lived almost my whole life in Austin, am an athlete w/​a crappy back, and have seen many many different therapists over the years. I have wasted hundreds — thousands, really — going to cheaper (and only slightly!) chain places trying to find the perfect fit for me, only to get mediocre to downright displeasing massages. Not to say there’s not some decent ones, but if you’re serious about it, skip them and just go to the best. My hubby & I have been going to her for years and anyone we refer, falls in love too — not just w/​her massages, but her too! Just do it, she’s amazing!!!

Dena has given excellent sports and relaxation massages. She is professional, personable and extremely attentive to your needs. The environment at the office is inviting and comfortable. It has the feel of getting a massage in your home. I will definitely return regularly and highly recommend Dena to others.

WOW! I have had several massages at different places before and I really didn’t see what the big deal about massages where. Then I met Dena and decided to give it another chance. Lucky for me, now I know what it is like to get a REAL massage by a true professional. If you are even thinking about trying Applied Pressure out do yourself an giant favor and do it! Your body will thank you:)

I run long distance and have been experiencing pain in both legs due to muscle tightness for the past year. Something that I love doing, running, was starting to not be as enjoyable. A friend had been trying to get me to go to Dena for a while and I finally did… AND WOW, I am so glad I did! After the first session with Dena, I was already feeling so much relief and started to really enjoy my runs again!
Dena is knowledgeable, has a great personality, and works out of a very comfortable space! I will continue to see Dena long term and send as many people as I can her way! She is that good!!!

Probably shouldn’t write a review so close to my massage high, but after 2 «meh» massages from the massage chains around town, I’m happy to spread the word. Dena was incredible.
My visit was prompted by my neck and shoulders, barking from the deadlifting I did the day before. ACL Fest was the very next day and I needed some relief pronto. Dena had availability the same day, thankfully.
The place is a bit tough to find with limited signage. Just look for the address on the building and stroll right in. Parking’s available on the street (2 hour) or in the driveway, and either option is free.
Dena welcomed me in and got right down to business. We talked initially and throughout on my fitness routine and what I was favoring that day. Dena paid attention and hit the spots I was looking to get at the pressure I wanted, but also managed to find a few bumps I didn’t even know I had. At certain points I actually started hallucinating, which happens to me anytime it’s a great massage.
The hour zipped by with just the perfect balance of conversation and silence… a very friendly, caring atmosphere. At the end, Dena offered up complimentary water and tea, and I opted for the yerba mate (yum).
A wonderful experience overall.

For over 5 years, I have been to several massage therapist for a variety of different styles of therapy. I had the best deep tissue and massage two months ago from Dena. I tend to have a very tight muscles. She’s uses just the right pressure and technique to have me feeling new again. Also, she will give recommendations to help me put less stress and be healthier on my body (exp.: posture and typing).
The studio where her business is located is a perfect for relaxation as well. The lighting is dim and the oil she uses is very calming.
If you are looking for an incredible experience in a massage and for your heath, then visit Dena. You will leave feeling new and refreshed.
