Austin Bodyworker, why did we have to go here? I tried to be patient, I tried to wait it out. But I’m done. We must part ways, It’s not me-it’s you. When we met back in 2013 you had that cute little space close to AL&C. You moved and I kinda didn’t read the email, maybe you should of called… ok my fault. You supported me through my marathons, my half marathons, my tri’s, and most recently my first half Ironman. I could not of done it without you! Remember when we got serious and got into a relationship? Stepping up to the membership package was a big step in our commitment to each other. But alas, like a bad lover you took, I continued to give! I gave my money each month knowing I would always come back. I knew my money was safe with you when I wasn’t training. I knew I would always come back to you. I can’t stay away from your touch. I decided in March it was time, I have spent too many days away… so I booked I took a step to come back. You sent me a nice letter saying«great, we will see you south in a week.» GREAT I thought, you are ready for me to come back! I was very happy. But the day before our meeting, you wrote me to remind me… but wait! What’s THIS?! You moved! How could you… you moved NORTH! nooooooooooo NOTNORTH! When I called you said you would come back south one day, but until then we should freeze our relationship. So my membership is stalled. Until you come back. Then I see, I see you are back! You silly, you must of forgot to call me and tell me. Silly Silly! I’ll just book another meeting, no big deal. Oh dear, my membership is frozen, I can’t book a meeting! How do I even know which location I am booking?! This relationship is getting really complicated, confusing. I decided I better just call… ok, I’ll leave a message. Maybe you are busy? humm… days later no call back. That’s OK! I’ll call again… oh wait, now I can’t leave a message? Geez, I’m beginning to feel like you don’t want to see me again? So I’ll try an email? nope, no return email. So I’ll send one more, this one isn’t very nice. I’m sorry, I’m kinda pissed off. I’d like all my money back, all that money you took from me? I’d like it back please. A return call, a return email… something? anything? Whats a girl gotta do to get some attention over here?

I have chronic back pain, mild scoliosis, herniated discs… you name it. I’m always apprehensive with new places/therapists because you never quite know what you are going to get, or if they are listening to your needs. The intuitive and professional nature of everyone on staff here is a breath of fresh air — its not just a frilly, «spa» kind of experience, its really body«work» and I have felt amazing after every session. This group are the only people I trust with my back anymore!

I get A LOT of massages, but this is hands down the best massage in town. All masseuses are trained to ask you where you’re trouble spots are and to get an idea of what you’re looking for ahead of time. But in my experience, they don’t always listen. So you end up with the standard massage they give everyone. I feels formulaic. Not at the Austin Bodyworker. They were the first to actually give me the massage I asked for. I walked out of there feeling cured of my back pain. Highly recommend it.

I am a member and get a massage monthly. Last week I scheduled a massage for my husband at the same time as my massage. He walked out of there saying it was the best massage he had ever had. He looked like he had just gotten hit by a truck. He was so relaxed so I went back to his masseuse, Norma. Awesome! Deep tissue work combined with lying on your side with a bolster makes for an excellent massage! Norma gave me a great 90 minute massage and I highly recommend her services.

I can’t believe ABW lost their reviews when they moved locations. Trust me, they were all 5 stars and that’s all you need to know. As a constantly recovering athlete, Austin Bodyworker has got me across numerous finish lines. I have been seeing them for over 3 years, and recently got involved with their membership package. I was going once a month already for constant therapy, so the membership was a no-brainer. This is not a fancy, spa like, relaxing place. So if you’re looking for hot stones and lavender water you need to move on. This is an athletes dream recovery massage. It hurts, it’s painful, and they make me bruise sometimes. I have to move in ways that hurt, I have to breathe deeply to make my super tense muscles chill the F out. I also have shared the table with my LMT when they were walking on my tight glutes or digging their knees into my left hip flexor-That left one always gets me! But I get off that table more flexible than when I came in and I always perform stronger for about 3 weeks then I know it’s getting close for my next visit. I always see someone who is crazy in tune with athletes and knows why I hurt where, and what I’m doing to cause these pains. My first LMT predicted my stress fracture a week before it happened. She warned me, but typical athlete I pressed on and broke my left foot 3 weeks before a marathon. She was there to nurse me back to health though. Figured I better listen to these people a little better moving forward. I now see Mary Ellen who will change your life in an(much too short) hour. She knows her stuff and always makes me crazy cringe when she gets in my left shoulder. I think that my shoulder lives in fear of her, but I’m determined to get it to straiten up! I am now training for a half Ironman, and I know ABW will be my saver, keep me healthy, and get me across yet another finish line. Praise you, Amen.

I’ve seen Kelly five times and he has made a significant difference in my neck and upper back. I feel so much better after a series of massages. The atmosphere is also relaxing, with music and soft lighting. I get a cold glass of water after each session and tips on how to keep the muscles less stressed. Plus, the massage beds can be heated. Awesome!

I recently had a cupping session at Austin Bodyworker with Mary Ellen. After being in a car accident a few years ago, I hurt my shoulder, upper back/neck area and had undergo physical therapy and see a chiropractor regularly after the accident. I was beyond amazed at how much rang of motion I had after my recent massage here. I have a lot of scar tissue and fascia that is just stuck and build up from my injury. I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and didn’t think Id be able move so fluidly again. I highly recommend booking a session if you can get in! I will definitely be returning.

Mary Ellen did some magical work on me. I have tried many different healing modalities. Her massage cupping technique gave me new hope for my chronic neck and shoulder pain. Highly recommended! Can’t wait to see her again!
