I just moved in to a new condo and needed to mount a plasma on a concrete fireplace. I wanted one of the new super flat Samsungs and Austin Audio recommend a slim wall mount. The concrete fireplace was tough to cut into and very thick but eventually the plasma was up it looks sharp. I’m really glad I took their advice got the slim wall mount., it was an excellent suggestion. This is the second time I have used Austin Audio. I lived downtown at the Amil and wanted a plasma there. I ended up with a 50 inch on a ErgoTron cart — the perfect solution. I could wheel the tv from the living to bedroom and even out onto the patio. Again another great suggestion from Austin Audio. One more thing, home electronics are a tricky business, there’s lots of technology to deal with. It’s great to work with company that knows what’s available to make the investment worthwhile.

Let me begin by stating that I do not intend for this to be a review of the owner of this smal business. Quint is a very nice guy. Unfortunately, I was not happy with their service. If you just need a TV mounted, or have a simple job, they might be a great solution. But on anything more than that I would not recommend them. My system included a couple plasma TV’s, multi-room sound, multiple Tivo PVR’s, etc. Firstly, Quint knew nothing about Tivo’s. That’s hard to believe these days when you are presenting yourself as a high-end AV professional. Even worse, there were multiple instances in which Quint either forgot, or completely overlooked, important details we had previously discussed. I am not happy with the work so far and I am switching to a more professional installer. The attention to detail at Austin Audio was nowhere near what I expect from a reputable audio-video company.
