Good value for money. Taste was not bad at all. I know there have been concerns about the quality of the food and too much use of oil and salt but I’ve paid much more and had worst experiences at other places. Jalapeño crab wantons were pretty good.

I just moved to The Domain area and instantly spotted out Bamboo Bistro. The location is assessable, convenient and includes a drive thru. I’ve ordered two meals from Bamboo Bistro on two occasions, one dined in and the other to go. It’s nice that the food is made to order and you have some choice on what goes in your meal. Start by picking rice or noodle entrée, a protein and then a sauce. Great concept and decent prices. The first time, I order the Thai Curry with chicken and rice with a shrimp spring roll. I REALLY enjoyed my spring roll. Very good and fresh. The Thai curry wasn’t too bad however, it was extremely gritty. You can tell the curry sauce was overloaded with curry powder because that is the only way curry has a dark yellowish/brownish color. The texture wasn’t smooth like curry should be but almost like sandpaper feel. No, it didn’t cut my throat or tongue(thank God) but instead of having a smooth consistency, it was very heavy on the curry powder and heavy on the oil. I honestly couldn’t eat much of the curry so I picked at the chicken and rice. The meal came served with a bread that almost reminded me of a naan/roti mixture. It was sugary and tasted like a cracker. No too shabby. My second visit was to go. I order the mandarin beef. Wasn’t too happy with my meal. The sauce was vey thick and tasteless. Very bland and no excitement. I also ordered another shrimp spring roll but to my disappointment, it was not the same as the first one. Think I only got 1 shrimp in the entire roll and it was cut in half so technically, ½ shrimp. I will try similar restaurants in the future but won’t dismiss Bamboo Bistro totally.

My husband and I love, love, love this place. When we lived closer they had my order memorized. The yellow curry is amazing!

The prices were a little steep for lunch, but they had decent lo mein, general taos and delicious rangoons! I don’t live in the area, but will definitely be back when visiting the Domain.

It has been three years since my last review. I like this place so much that I decided to update my review. The food is yummy and the prices are pretty good as well. I am updating my review just because Anna is so awesome! I love seeing her face in the drive-thru. She always has a smile on her face, she is friendly, sweet, yet professional. She really takes good care of you! Keep up the good work Anna! Oh and give this girl a raise lol.

I came to this place to satisfy a Chinese/Thai food craving and because it has a drive thru. I got the yellow curry tofu with fried rice and an order of crab won tons. The yellow curry was brown, thick and was not like any curry I had had. A very small portion of rice was given. There were also no potatoes in the curry which I found disappointing. The crab Rangoon was okay but not something I would go back for. The worker was less than friendly as well. Pretty disappointing experience. If you can’t make a great curry at least be friendly. Skip this place, drive a little south and go to Titiyas.

This should have 5 stars!!! Amazing taste and presentation. Met the owner and the food came out almost immediately and was delivered to the table. Drinks are a little pricey at over $ 2 for tea. Expect to spend $ 11 with a drink.

This has become one of my favorite go to spots for lunch. I come often; 2 – 3 times per week. They have excellent egg drop soup, the pepper steak is great as well as the sesame chicken. I like that they have drive-thru; it makes things really easy when I am in a rush.

I went here with a co-worker today and the staff was very polite and the restaurant was very clean. Also, the food came rather fast which concerned me because I assumed it had been sitting there pre-made and it wasn’t going to be fresh. To my surprise, it was so fresh and full of flavor and the noodles were cooked to the right tenderness. The lunch portion that I got of the chicken lo mein was rather large and was affordable. On my way out when my co-worker told the chef that the food was amazing, a young lady that works there said«it’s because he makes all his sauces from scratch» and she was more than happy to talk him up! You can tell they take pride in what they do. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and all I can say is that the food’s terrific. The portions are huge and highly shareable(seriously, bring a friend). Very friendly service and clean environment. My personal fave dishes are the orange chicken and kung pao shrimp(slap your face good). Recently ordered delivery through the Unilocal app and received my order in record time, though your mileage may vary. Give it a shot. It’s delicious.

Delivery was fast and food was decent– the green beans with crispy bacon were great. Very friendly service(they called to verify specifics on our order) so no complaints overall. Kinda wish food was hotter upon delivery as it was bordering on cold, but we are in Avery Ranch & they were willing to deliver at 9pm on a Thursday so i have to say I would order again if our options were the same.

I worked in the Restaurant Industry for years and can honestly tell you the following: The person/people cooking this food do not give a $hiT about the customer. Of course it was tasteless, but I don’t usually put my 2 cents in via Unilocal for mere bad food… Here’s what i’m getting at. My wife and I both have food poisoning after eating only some of the food we ordered. By food poisoning I mean waking up in the middle of the night with excruciatingly painful, sharp, stomach pain and spending an hour on the toilet. I «tried» each dish(throwing away each thing as I went) and the only consistent flavor was the taste of food that’s been prepared on cookware that hasn’t been properly cleaned. I could literately taste the cleaning spray or whatever they use… It was overwhelming. To the Restaurant owner: If you think you can keep making people sick and get away with it then you’ve got another thing coming. Fire the Chef and pay someone who cares about what he/she is doing. When the food you push makes people sick it puts you and your business at risk.

Is this really Chinese food? Most of the dishes here are extremely salty, extremely tangy, or just down right oily. It amazes me how they’re able to whip up dishes and serve it to you in less time than it takes to sit down. I’d much rather have Panda Express. The only thing Chinese about this place is the décor and the ingredients.

I typically order their General Tso’s or Sesame chicken, and in those cases, I’ll get these really nicely-breaded white meat chicken, not tough or stringy like a lot of other asian fusion restaurants I’ve eaten at. Though other meals like their Kung Pao chicken, I’ll get these really tiny cuts that just don’t fill me up at all. I’ve heard some stories of food poisoning here, but I haven’t had that kind of experience at all. Despite any issues I have with the place, it’s such a strong staple for me, I’m honestly addicted to the dishes I mentioned earlier. No other restaurant does them nearly as well.

Always accurate. Always hot and fresh. Always delicious. Hits the spot for me! My favorites are the soups(which last two of us two servings at least) and the fried rice. Also really fast.

This is my first review for a restaurant into which I have never set foot. I first tried Bamboo Bistro when I had a badly injured knee and wanted a drive through experience with healthful(and possibly even delicious) food. The drive-through proved to be convenient, the food was wonderful, and a major bonus is that you can order and pay with this great app. All you have to do is zip up to the window, sign your name and eat excellent food. I love the whole experience, and used it frequently while my knee was healing. I have eaten four or five different tofu dishes(with brown rice!), both edamame appetizers and vegetarian egg rolls. I especially love the Teriyaki Tofu Salad. Everything is great. However, tonight was special. As usual, I chose the pre-order drive-through option. I waited in a short line of cars while a lady in a Lexus got her food. Then the nice man at the window looked out, went to get my food and when I pulled up, he asked, «Victoria?» Have you ever been recognized in a drive-through line? Me neither. Here’s the point: if Bamboo Bistro North takes such extraordinary care of one little old lady in a drive-through lane, how great is the service in this lovely little restaurant? My bet is — pretty darn great. Thank you for your time. VCB

I’d like to update my last review by saying that the service has improved considerably! I’m thinking perhaps they were just very very busy last time, the lady was having a bad day, whatever. This time she was very prompt with the food and engaged me in conversation. Much friendlier this time around, which I really do appreciate. Thank you! The food of course is still great.

Called in delivery on my way home to RR from south Austin. They gave me a firm 15 minutes till pick up. I rolled up about 14 minutes later to see my order being placed on the counter. Good timing. We ordered Fried Pot stickers with pork, they were great. Plenty of flavor and that sauce that comes with really complements the pork. Even a ride home and 15 minutes of netlfix buffering our show and they were still warm and crisp. Eggs rolls were crispy, flaky, great flavor. They dont taste frozen, they might be but they certainly dont taste that way. Sweet and Sour chicken was perfectly cooked. Crispy outside with juicy center. Sauce is exactly what you’re wanting from S&S chicken. My Jalapeño Chicken was amazing. It was fried chicken pieces with crunchy green beans and big fat slices of jalapeño. I mention crunchy green beans because they were FRESH. These beans were not frozen and you could totally taste that. All in all it was a great meal. Plus our pot stickers were FREE for checking in on Unilocal. Great price too. Well worth it and we’ll defiantly be back.

We received a free appetizer coupon(with $ 20 purchase) just for checking in, cool. We chose the tempura shrimp app and it was delicious. We had the Bangkok spicy noodles and the Kung pao chicken. Both were delicious and a good portion. The service was good and we enjoyed it very much. Glad we drove by and checked out the Unilocal review. The spicy dishes were spicy but not overly so most people would enjoy them. The kitchen is open and it was very clean and the whole place had a good atmosphere.
