First time here and the worst experience ever. Waited in line for more than 5 minutes, moved to another register and waited. Another customer walks up and an employee walks up and tells him she could help him in another register! When she’s done she just stares at me! Worst customer service!

Cheap stuff. That’s all that can be said. Great deals here. I do look this store! Very convenient for me since I lived down the street. Housewares and non perishable food is stuff I usually would buy here.

First time in a Big Lots and kinda impressed, like its a discount World Market or something. I’m checking out with one item and waiting in line. There was my checkout person, a young Asian woman and another check women, older, silver hair, glasses like an English teacher. As my check out person is finishing up with the guy in front of me the older school teacher looking one tells her to cut it off after him. I’m thinking, what, do I have to go to the end of the other line after waiting five minutes. The guy in front of me leaves and my check out person sees that I have one item and glances over at the older woman. She attempts to usher me through so I wouldn’t have to wait with a warm smile which I took at good customer service. The old later looks back and stops her as she’s attempting to scan my item and chastises her in front of me and the other customers. I immediately had a pit in my stomach watching this poor girl get berated for trying to be nice. The older woman demanded her employee number and said, «I’ll have to generate a report on you now!». After she«generated» the report from the another register in front of myself and the other customers, the older woman uttered under her breath but within earshot, «You have over $ 500 in that register! You should have emptied it long ago!!». Wait, you’re humiliating this poor girl for letting the money build up but YOU are the one foolish enough to let the public know how much was in there. Had I been tempted to rob the place, she made sure I was aware there was more than $ 500 in the register. Great going older checkout/manager woman in the glasses. Maybe you should look at your own conduct before you chastise one of your employees for trying to make a customer happy!!!

I really like Big Lots… random stuff, pretty good prices, and somewhat friendly employees. What I don’t like is that EVERYSINGLETIME I shop here, something is priced incorrectly. Whether the shelf marker is wrong, the item was in the incorrect place, or the tag on the item is the incorrect price, SOMETHING is always wrong with the price of at least one item I buy, per trip. Today for example, I bought a cereal container that was supposed to be $ 5. The shelf strip underneath had the item name and $ 5 on it… yet it rang up $ 7.50. Get your prices right people and i’ll give you the other two stars! I love the random products but hate the surprise at the register! Also, «clearance» items have NEVER rung up at a clearance price for me, so I just avoid them altogether. To end on a good note, my favorite part about this store is I can find things to decorate my classroom without breaking the bank, so of course i’ll be back.

Yes, I agree Big Lots has lots of stuff, but very unorganized and rude customer service.

So this Big Lots has TONSOFFOOD. And by tons I mean you don’t have to buy soy milk for three bucks folks. You can get the same thing for $ 1.25 here. I also lucked out on two boxes of Slim Fast bars for .50 a box. No lie. This one is really clean and is usually pretty busy but the food selection is really what makes this stand out. They get different stuff in every day which is why I go there so frequently. I figured out that I save over $ 60 a month on food just by getting my dry goods and canned food at Big Lots instead of getting them at HEB. If you’ve never been, go and wander around you will totally get hooked.

Before moving to the neighborhood I never went to a big lots before. Its a decently sized little discount store. It seems like if I need something and don’t care about a brand name or long term quality I can pick it up there at big lots for cheap. For instance I went to go buy some Kleenex and what do you know they are just a little bit cheaper than at the big store across the street, yay saved 60c. I also like to scour their dvd selection, I have found quite a few Animé box sets there for about 5 $ where when buying the same set online would be about 30 $. Great store for those random things you might need.
