I was not a fan of their fish burrito. The fish tastes like fish sticks you can get in the box at Walmart. The rice and tortillas were the reason it got 2 stars.

Found this place on a whim when I had an hour to kill before meeting up with some friends. I grabbed a quick bite here and was pleasantly surprised. With the influx of Chipotle clones, Cabo Bobs stands out. The fresh tortillas is what sets them apart – ever so slightly crispy and delightful. I had the fried fish tacos. To be honest, the fish wasn’t that great but as a whole taco unit thing, everything was great. Oh, do yourself a favor and try the hot sauce. It has a nice smokey flavor and a decent kick.

Excellent food, totally worth giving it a try! As you walk in you choose your flavor of tortilla and then follow it along as the other ingredients are being added. You can choose to omit or add items to your burrito. My husband and I were satisfied with one burrito and my teenagers ate half of theirs! Prices range from $ 6 – 9 per burrito. Oh their fountain drinks are a sweet surprise, flavors like cherry limeade, red crème soda and vintage cola!

If Jimmy Buffet bought out chipotle or freebirds and remade it in his image, you’d have Cabo Bob’s. Staff was nice, place was clean, giant burrito was burritolicious– it just feels like more of the same. Not bad, but there are so many places like this it’s hard to find anything that stands out as unique.

Love love love this place! Similar set up as Chipotle but omg is the menu 10x better! I love that you can choose different tortilla flavors. The fish tacos are amazing. I’m definitely coming back to try other food on the menu! I highly recommend trying this place out!

This was the first place I choose to dine at my first time in Texas for some Tex-Mex. Prior to eating here I’ve always heard, «tacos are better in Texas…,» from so many people. I never thought tacos could get any better than what I’ve had in California or even from certain places in Florida. But boy, was I highly mistaken. This place has ruined any taco I will eat from here on out. I can’t even eat Chipotle anymore, because I realized it’s straight garbage. The moment I saw the dining attendant hand press the tortilla I knew it was game over. They even had different flavors of tortillas! The brisket and the pulled pork tacos were awesome! I even ordered crispy fish nachos to split and my friend ordered an over stuffed burrito. Well it’s true what they say-everything is bigger in Texas indeed. We only got through ¼ of the nachos and I could only make my way through 2 out of three tacos. They were stuffed to the brim. All in all I would definitely pay a visit back to this establishment if I’m in the area. Great value and awesome food!

This is my third time back to cabo bob’s and it was delicious every single time! I can only review the nacho’s for now… maybe one time I’ll get something else but for now I can’t seem to stop craving those nachos!!! The chips are freshly made in the restaurant and you can choose your meat and toppings. FYI the queso sauce is to die for!!! The meat is seasoned very well! Today I got extra fajita beef and extra queso sauce and was in heaven! I’m visiting until but I guarantee I’ll be back at least twice before I leave!!!

My son & I agree this is our FAVORITE restaurant. Their fish tacos are the BESTBESTBEST! And they have upscale sodas(if you don’t consider that an oxymoron!?) :)

I would definitely choose this place over Chipotle or Freebirds! Bigger burritos at a cheaper price. The home made tortillas really make everything stand out above it’s competitor! You won’t regret eating here.

In Austin and really didn’t want to eat chain but we didn’t have a lot of time and Unilocal was very positive about it, at least at this location. To be fair I would prefer to eat a few things before reviewing but it is very unlikely that will happen so the review is on one menu item. The fish tacos. Quite good but not outstanding. I do really like the soft shells were pressed and warmed right in front of me. Price was also very reasonable. Good choice for quick and affordable fast food with a Chipotle or Moe’s chain model.

Great place! Plenty of parking. Clean bathroom and interior. Friendly fast hard working staff. The burritos are big and great. The pop machine has all kinds of wonderful beverages. I recommend it to everyone

This was my first official meal out when I came to visit my sister and brother-in-law in ATX back in January, and O.M.G. I tried the Smokey Cheddar Burrito(you must try the tortillas — they are to die for) loaded up with a bunch of meat combinations, veggies, and sauces.(I. Can’t. Even.) I called it a «Legitimate Carbohydrate». Because even though I was minimizing carbs at the time, this place is legit. And #worthit Best yet? They had BIGRED! Yeeeaaaah, 80s!(p.s. you’ll note my love for Big Red in my review for Home Slice, as well, but this is where the love was first re-ignited.) p. s. can we talk about the awesome music? «Bad Boys»(COPS theme song). Bob Marley, Jack Johnson. The list just goes on & on & on… Can’t wait to visit again! So hungry…

I’ve eaten here several times and everything is delicious! There tortillas alone are worth the trip. Today I got fish tacos which are fried. I’m sure they are about as healthy as the chipotle crema that put on top, but man are they tasty! My only complaint about this place is that the staff all has RBF. They scowl the whole time like they hate their life and/or you. I ordered online because I know that place is a zoo from 11:30−2. I got there about 3 minutes after my quoted pick up time and still had to wait an additional 7 – 8 minutes. The girls looked mad at me because my order wasn’t ready. Too bad the food is so delicious, otherwise I’d likely not return. So 4 stars specifically for the food. It’s a fast food chain, so it’s not like my whole«dining experience» was ruined based on the bad attitudes and mean mugs. Service and hospitality rating would be around 2 stars.

Large burritos. The seasoning of the sauces could have been better. Served luke warm. Wait service was fast and efficient moist of the time. Very noisy bar atmosphere.

How can anyone not give this place a five star review? I love their commitment to great quality, great salsas and non GMO chips. And, all at a very fair price. One of my personal favorites are the ancho tortillas with the green salsa. Also, their fajitas are just silly great. I like the location on Ben White for South Austin foodies. And if you need to cater a party, they do a really good job of preparing large quantities. Sometimes we have people deliver food to our office for business meetings. They are quick, efficient and on time. They actually deliver the food hot! Talk about easy party prep! Give them a try sometime when you are on the go. You will not be disappointed.

I like to tell people that Cabo Bobs is the perfect blend of chipotle and freebirds… but with homemade tasting tortillas. Price is pretty competitive too! They have a setup similar to Chipotle. The walk through line and all. Fresh ingredients, a wide variety of meat, vegetable, and salsa options. One of the best parts of cabo bobs is there soda fountain. A large variety of pure cane sugar sodas! Also, they have their own very weird, but delicious salsas. Its like a happy mixture between bbq sauce and tabasco. But it works! Give this place a try! You will not be disappointed!

cabo bobs is so good. I love their queso and prefer their guac to other burrito chains bc it’s simple. I love the variety of tortillas and beans and their protein is always good. today I got a fish bowl with baja beans, white rice, cheese and chipotle crema. so so yummy with queso and chips of course bc I’m a proper Texan. the only thing about them that is not awesome is the parking lot, getting out of there is sometimes more than frustrating. but for cabo bobs you can be a bit patient.

Cabo Bobs vs Chipotle. Cabo bob’s has its own special hot sauce. Chipotle has salmonella. Cabo bob’s has great big round tortillas of different flavors. Chipotle does not(that I know of). Cabo bob’s charges for guacamole. Wait. So does Chipotle. Chipotle has beer. Cabo Bobs has an amazing soda selection. Overall, I really like the meat selections and veggie selection at Cabo Bobs. Everything comes out warm and fresh. I am a fan of hot sauces, so I love the salsa and hot sauce variety. I usually go with the chicken bowl, filled with veggies and goodies! Verdict: Cabo Bobs is def. my place of choice. Unfortunately, due to convenience, I often go to Chipotle.

This was my first time visiting after seeing good reviews and it being short distance from my hotel during my Austin visit. I had an awesome burrito big enough to share, but instead decided to save for leftovers. The tortillas are made in front of you(try the cheddar) and the other ingredients were also fresh. I had the shredded pork. Yum. The atmosphere was fun and casual and the staff were friendly. It s convenient too — right off the interstate.

I’m out of town and decided I wanted a taco of sorts, so of course I checked Unilocal first and found Cabo Bob’s. The setup reminds me of Chipotle, in that you select your burrito, salad or bowl choice, and then decide what you want to load it with(with the options presented before you). This place is like a cross between Chipotle and Torchy’s, however the food tastes more like Chipotle… If there’s a connection, I’m not aware of it. The food wasn’t great and wasn’t bad, it was just ok. I was excited to check it out because the reviews were awesome. …Meh.

I have been to CBs several times and went back today in the name of science to get some pictures as I have usually left my camera in the car and not checked in or taken pictures. This time I got the #7 beef fajita burrito and said make it just like the menu says. It was boring and a bit lifeless due to all the different ingredients piled together(a blender would work just as well). The meat was definitely something I have always liked there though. While I stood in line for about 15 minutes(lots of people but the line moves fast) I watched the clientele of Anglo and Asians get their food. This is definitely a hipster place and they must be doing something right at that target as it was packed. No one complained about their food. Myself, I like it much better than the giant burrito chain place. The drink machines and bottles were a sight to behold! The parking lot is dangerous and a nightmare. Watching road rage over and over there would damage any experience. My suggestion is that if someone in the office wants to make a lunch run, don’t be the driver. The place was clean, the staff worked frantically to keep things moving and it was not too bad when I added my emergency hot sauce I always carry. I ate half, then reheated the other half later and the difference seemed minimal. All in all, I would prefer a simple brisket or Al Pastor taco. But, this place would do nicely, especially if someone else was paying or you needed a couple of meals for working very late.

If you’re coming here, make sure you haven’t eaten in at least 24 hours. The burritos here are ENORMOUS and really delicious. The coolest thing about this place is the fact they make your tortilla right in front of you. It’s kinda like dinner and a show. The tortilla flavors are also really intriguing and taste great. My one issue(and it’s a very small issue) is that the burrito is almost too big. Once you pack all of these ingredients into the burrito you can never get a bite of everything at once, so you’re left eating a bite of just chicken or one of just the vegetables. However, individually they taste great so I’m really not too mad about it. Also, if you come here make sure you get their homemade pepper sauces. They are absolutely delicious. I literally put it on every bite of my burrito. It had a nice heat and delicious flavor!

Very solid food that’s fresh and well prepared. Very similar to Freebirds. I had a brisket burrito. The meat was tender and not fatty. I prefer Torchy’s brisket to this place but they were good — just not spectacular.

Before I post my review I want to just state that I’m not a fan of Chipotle but I do like Qdoba, if that puts anything into perspective. I would say this place is pretty good! I liked the different types of tortillas you can choose from, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. I also liked their local made soda and fresh punch. Service was great and for a first timer they were patient enough to explain everything for me. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, is the simple fact that I don’t see this as a place you«MUST» try or even a place I crave. It’s a good place for Mexican food loving friends, but it was just simply good, not great.

I am trying to get over my crushed expectations in order to provide an objective review of my visit to Cabos Bob’s. I had high hopes for some authentic fish tacos and with such high praise on Unilocal,I decided to make a run. You can imagine my disappointment as I pulled into a newer shopping mall and found Cabos Bobs sitting behind a Starbucks — this is just your regular, run-of-the-mill Americanized and corporatized Mexican food. Now — if that is what you are in the mood for — I don’t want to discourage you from giving Bob a try. I had a solid experience from the moment I walked in. The seating area was clean, the workers friendly and helpful. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. I ordered the taco trio and got to work trying to sample as much of the menu as I possibly could in one basket. You have a choice of four soft shells — I chose the three flavored ones. There is a choice of chicken, fish, beef, pork, and steak — I chose fish, beef, and pork. All of the usual toppings round out the offerings. All of the food was well-prepared if just a bit bland for what I was expecting. An unexpected highlight of the trip was the cane sugar sodas that are available on the fountain — strong, vibrant flavors like ginger ale, root beer, vanilla crème, and cola. The cola was particularly amazing — give it a try and you will realize how bad Coke and Pepsi taste as they have become mere commodities trying to drive price out of their recipes. The Mint Sweet Tea was also unexpectedly good. You won’t go wrong with Cabo Bob’s, but it is also not an «experience»

Ehhh… This place was just okay. I was going to go to Freebirds, but according to other Unilocalers, Cabo Bob’s is so much better so I took their advice and came here. When I showed up just before noon, the line was super long, but the employees were very efficient. The line moved quickly. I was impressed to see that they make their tortillas in house and they press them when you order. I got a chicken burrito bowl. The ingredients were fresh but bland. The guacamole is just crushed avocados-no tomatoes, onions, cilantro or spices added. I love burritos and was excited to try something we don’t have back home, but I think I’ll stick with my tried and true Chipotle.

I LOVECABOBOBSBURRITOS! My boyfriend and I visited for the first time March 7 after our trip to the Domain we wanted something filling to eat without breaking the bank. I had this place bookmarked because I wanted to try the fish tacos I kept seeing in the photos. I love the fact they make fresh flour tortillas classic and flavored in 3 different choices. I ordered the #3 Baja style on corn. I had it with everything it was suppose to come with. My boyfriend ordered the #1 which came on flour tortilla. We were both extremely satisfied with the freshness, crunch, and flavors of the fish tacos. He said they were the best fish tacos he’d ever had and I have to agree with him. I REALLYHOPEANDPRAY they open a location in Houston because I will be the first person there to come support, but for now since Austin isn’t too far away I will definitely be coming back.

Mmmmm, fish tacos! First time delving into the delicious Cabo fish tacos. I was a happy girl. I got here during peak lunch hours and the line was out the door. It moved slower than it should have. Cabo Bob needs to take note of his competitors and how quickly they get their lines down. I ordered the deluxe fish tacos(#2) all the way. The fresh tortillas made my heart skip a beat. I think it was love. The tacos rocked and I enjoyed the cabbage and the sauce they put on top. I could live without the mango salsa, as it had cucumbers that just didn’t jive well with me. Lastly, the sauce that was floating around the tables– you need that in your life. It adds such a savory spicy kick to your food. Good food. Cool vibes. Eat here.

Well I finally made it to Cabo Bobs! I was absolutely surprised with the quality of food. I was kind of expecting freebirds I guess but a little different. My cousin was in town and mentioned he wanted fish tacos, so Steve H. looked up the top places to get fish tacos in Austin on what else but the Unilocal app … and the #1 place was too far so we opted for #2 which was Cabo Bobs. I ordered the #1 fish tacos on a smoked cheddar tortilla. There was a mango pico de gallo and a creamy chipotle sauce with 2 huge chunks of golden fried fish, cabbage and a lime on the side. I squeezed the lime juice on each taco and as I ate them the mango pico, creamy sauce and lime juice mixed around on the fish and tortilla … mmm it totally hit the spot. The chips and salsa were good too! And they have all the Dublin real cane sugar drinks on fountain … my favorite is the red cream soda! All in all our whole table was pleased and loved their lunch. I am glad I finally tried Cabo Bobs. I will absolutely hit this place up again! I think it is better than Freebirds and Chipotle.
