Chicken Express

I drive 8 miles out of my way to get to this restaurant. I do that because I always know what to expect and that’s a high quality product for the money I pay. The food is always hot and fresh and the employees are always polite. Keep up the good work guys!

I try to eat healthy without deep fried food. I even gave away my deep fryer. But I could not say NO to Fried Chicken. If you like spicy, you have to try Chicken Express Spicy seasoning, it’s super good! Love it!

If you stop by Lakeway location for take out warning: they are currently short of help and the manager is not managing what you get. Today I ordered three pieces of chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra with rolls. Got home and opened the box and I had chicken tenders, a cup of white gravy and two biscuits. How wrong can you get this order? Totally. I advise checking box before leaving window. I will if I go back next time.

I go in about once every 3 – 4 months hoping food is better… then I remember, if they are not reheating old fried chicken, they are cooking it in rancid oil.
Such a bummer… I continue to be disappointed.

Not a bad little chicken spot. Keyword being chicken. Tried the catfish once. Never again. As for the chicken and sides, though, not too bad. Service can be crummy, and they tend to short you on items like corn nuggets and chicken strips, but there’s not much for choice around lakeway for chicken. (At least that I’ve found on my lunch break)

I haven’t tried chicken yet because I cannot not order the catfish. It is so good. It takes 10 – 20 minutes to make so they always recommend I call it in but I forget. It is still worth the wait. The hush puppies are also wonderful.

This place is awesome with crispy chicken and hush puppies or fried corn it is so good for your taste buds it really reminds you of Louisiana!!!

I enjoy eating here. It is NOT healthy at all. However, sometimes a girl needs some chicken fingers and gravy. I do not find the chicken fingers too greasy which is a huge plus. I love their rolls as well. The drinks on the lunch deals are HUGE. For some reason they have to get you the ice. They usually fill it up to the top with ice. It is that good ice. The small circles. I love that stuff. I also like the fact that they appear to be huge supporters of Lake Travis High School. They sponsor all of the sports teams. I have only ordered the four piece chicken fingers, with mash potatoes, roll and a drink. I always eat inside and it is clean. Staff always nice. If you need something fast and like chicken this is your place in Lakeway.

On my way to my brother’s house in Lakeway I started to get hungry. So I decided to try this place… Chicken Express. I went through the drive thru… I ordered the 3 piece (2 Legs and a thigh) and a 6 piece of the hot wings the lady on tje phone told me it will be 6 minutes for tje wings and I said okay I will wait for them. The time it took me from the drive-​thru to the window it took 10 minutes… so I thought YEEEYUH my order should be ready by the time I get to the window. Nope it wasn’t ready so I had to pull forward…3 minutes later I got my food. Im not mad about the wait I am mad about my food being cold…3 piece cold 6 piece hot… I had to microwave my food…

Every time I go through the drive thru they forget to give me part of my order. Today i went inside and ordered. When I received my hush puppies they were burnt. They pretended to make some more but through the dame ones in after 3 minutes. To top it off they forgot to give me my gallon of tea ans my rolls that I ordered. My neighbor is the health inspector for that area and he has assured me that he will be paying a visit shortly to see what else they may be slacking on. I hope he fails them and shuts them down because they have failed this Lake Travis family dor the last time.

Wow, Great customer service. Been eating here for several years. Food is consistently good. Went last night and got 3 piece meal. Was disappointed when I got home with 2 pieces. Called expecting some excuse. Was surprised when Eric apologized and offered to deliver missing piece! Wow! In ten minutes Eric arrived and even brought bonus piece! Great customer service!

Excellent fried chicken strips. Friendly service. Your choice of a roll or a biscuit. If the fries hadn’t been obviously low-​end frozen fries, it’d be as good as it gets for fast food chicken.

This is our go-​to post lake drunk munch spot! Now yes, I know, I’m a vegetarian writing this review, but back in my younger days I was quite the meat-​eater (please let the jokes alone and hear me out). This place serves up hot, fresh, fattening, yummy food.
I’ve been coming to Chicken E since I was a wee lad, and have been coming to this location since 2006 (and trust, living a half mile from this place was no easy task for my diet). You can always bank on getting an extra tender or two in your meal as well. I am sad that they no longer have their hot mustard as it was heavenly, but that doesn’t ruin anything when it comes to ranking this as a fast food staple for me.
