Ordered delivered 7 minutes away. Came 1.5 hours later, food cold scarcely worth eating. Left most of it behind when we left the next day. Stay away.

I would give them a zero star if it was possible. Decided to order it through grubhub… and 2 hours later i finally got the food. Another thing that sucked were the paper thin carry out containers. I lift the box, with 2 hands, and half of my chicken just fell out of it. Hello… you are a restaurant, if you are going to do carry out or delivery, you should invest a bit in it. HAHA. Another thing would be fact that they didn’t give me any forks or knives or any type of utensil. Are we cavemen here? Lastly, the driver was just rude. Don’t ask me how to get there and then decide to talk over me…

I love the food. My family and I used to come as often as we could but these past few trips were different. They didn’t refill our drinks for the hour we were there tonight. She just looked over at us then looked away. I even waved her over to ask for more soda but she walked to the back instead and stayed there for a good while. My dad even said a male worker grabbed his plate before even asking if he was finished with it and walked off. Good food, bad customer service.

Ordered food at 6pm. I was told it would be 50 – 60 minutes. I waited until and hour and 15 minutes passed and called. I was told the food left already and another 45 minutes passed. I called back and they offered me a $ 4 discount. The food needed to be microwaved when it arrived. I will never order from them again. I paid $ 27 for cold food that took two hours to arrive…

Not inedible, but not good. Food lacked flavor despite being drenched in sauce. Beef and chicken were fatty, scallops were tiny, veggies were soggy. Egg Drop Soup was average. Fired dumplings were okay, but I usually finish an order. By my 3rd dumpling and less than a ¼ through my meal, I was glad I didn’t feel hungry anymore, and could stop eating.

First of all, don’t call China Emperor when you are hungry. They do take a while to deliver. However, it is so worth it! The food was very good and in a great proportion. I ordered soup, egg rolls, and Egg Foo Young. I had leftovers for another night.

If you are seeking terrific, flavorful, fresh Chinese food, you should look elsewhere because China Emperor does not produce flavorful, fresh Chinese food. My wife and I ordered takeout, the chicken was worse than gas station fare. The rice was terrible… dry with no taste and I question the meat used for the beef and broccoli. We know good food, and we know good food doesn’t always need to be expensive. I am happy to pay a fair price for a quality product. This is not a quality product and they don’t charge a fair price. I am sure the food we ordered, came directly off the buffet line. The chicken was dry, tasteless, no seasoning and the batter looked as if the chicken was fried 8 hours earlier. To make matters worse, after you pay for the delivery charge and the tip to the delivery guy, you could have had a real meal in a real restaurant served by real people who know something about quality food preparation. China Emperor should be ashamed to serve food so sub par. After nearly $ 35 spent on terrible food, I came to thought… I could have done much better by running down to HEB, and buying microwave Chinese meal and I know it would have been 10 times better than China Emperor, and that is just sad!

Ordered delivery(sesame chicken and general Tsos chicken). First of all we received the wrong food, the drinks were disgusting and water down and I don’t know what kind of soup they gave us but it looked like something a pig would eat. The sweet and sour sauce was runny and smelled bad, and the chicken all tasted the same and it was soggy. I’m not a Chinese food connoisseur and I did not read the ratings before I ordered, but this is just unacceptable. This is the type of place I can imagine would have roaches or rats in the kitchen. I would scared to give my dog this filth. So mad I wasted my money on this place. NEVERAGAIN. If I could give a zero I would in all aspects.

NOSTARS! Terrible service! We ordered take out(2 vegetable fried rice dishes) with sweet and sour sauce. They said our food would be here in 45 min. It arrived shortly after with no sweet and sour sauce. My boyfriend called the restaurant and the woman told him they do not have sweet and sour sauce(which isn’t true, because it’s on their menu and the original person he made the order thru acknowledged that is what he wanted.) The original cashier gets on the phone and says, oh we are out of that sauce. You can’t eat it without the sauce? SERIOUSLY? I just paid $ 25 for 2 vegetable fried rice dishes that I only wanted WITH sweet and sour. He says we would have to pay extra for them. Again, SERIOUSLY? We already asked for the sauce and have already waited for our food for 45 min. And now are going to have to wait longer for it and pay $ 1.50 after being asked several times if we still wanted it. When I told him it was obsurd he was even charging us for the sauce he says he has to and that if they had the smaller ones he would give us those BC those are free.(Again, SERIOUSLY? Not our issue.) we were expecting an initial charge for the sauce, but after they didn’t bring it it should’ve been comp’d ATTHEVERYLEAST. Did I mention, it has been an additional 45 min since we got our food and called for the sauce to be brought? Forever waiting on sweet and sour ha! Never again. Oh, also asked to speak the manager and the manager would have to call me back… still waiting

I ordered take out from China Emperor and gave specific instructions for a food allergy«we have a child with an allergy to nuts, shrimp, and shellfish. please be extra careful of cross contamination while preparing our order». I would like to note that none of the meals we ordered had shrimp listed as an ingredient. When we received our order I was transferring everything to plates and noticed that there were shrimp in one of our meals. As this was the dish ordered for my son with a severe food allergy, I am thankful that I did not just hand out the boxes of food. I called to complain and was told that they are not responsible for shrimp in meals. I did not even get an apology, let alone reassurance that this would be followed up on to ensure it does not happen again. I will never order from this restaurant again.

It was a rainy afternoon, and my go to chinese delivery closed down. Nooo!!! So I goolged around and found China Emperor(yes. the name could use some distinction) I called, placed and order easily, and it was delivered(mind you in the rain) in about half an hour. The Tin Chin Chicken is delicious, with a nice amount of heat. Not quite making my nose run, but my cheeks got pink. The Mongolian Beef was alright too. Not sure what made it «Mongolian» but the place isn’t called Mongolian Emperor for a reason: p My order was off the menu. Mostly veggies with some chicken in a spicy brown sauce. The order taker understood and directed me to a good dish and added broccoli to it… nice touch! So, on this rainy Saturday, Chinese Emperor scratched me and my buddies itch for chinese take out, delivered on time, and made it so I didn’t have to cook!!! Maybe my expectations are lower than some on here, but it was good, hot, chinesey, $ 37 dollars for 3 meals with eggrolls and choice of steamed or fried rice… A total WIN and my new go to place for chinese take-out.

It’s was average but wasn’t impressive. I really liked the cheese dumplings I got but the sesame chicken was spongy and the beef and broccoli lacked flavor. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t so good that I’ll continue to order from here

I got the sweet and sour chicken, with egg drop soup delivered to me earlier today, and I was far from impressed. The rice tasted artificial and the chicken was oily. The egg drop soup was the absolute worst! I took a couple sips and almost gagged. It was like neon yellow oil mixed with bits of egg. I couldn’t stand it. The only thing that was okay, was the egg roll. It wasn’t the worst, and it want the best. It didn’t help that it took an hour to get to me.(I live 10 minutes away) safe to say I won’t go back.

I very rarely see this restaurant very busy. Which surprises me to no end. The food is great and with the lack of business, you are sure to get great service. The only reason, I can think of, reguarding the lack of business is probably due to the lack of exposure. So Im hoping to help them out a little by writing this. Its the least I can do for all the great meals they have given me.

I really will just not mind much when it comes to a seedy Chinese buffet. I came to this place out of desperation with my expectations on the floor. I won’t go into needless detail of how awful the food was, one can only imagine the horrors of bad buffet. But for an adventurous eater like myself, I was sincerely terrified to keep on eating at this place… I mean can you imagine how expensive it will be when I have to go to the hospital for food poisoning? Food: 1⁄10 Price: 2⁄10 Atmosphere: 2⁄10 Customer Service: 5⁄10

I’ve ordered from these guys about five times, never actually been to the restaurant. They have good delivery service and the food never disappoints! I consistently order the general tso chicken, highly recommended! They give you generous portions too. The delivery guy is super nice and remembers you!

Pros: Love the food… quiet atmosphere… staff is very friendly and attentive. Cons: Close to closing there is very little food on the buffet line. Pros: They are more than willing to cook more of something if you ask. Cons: You have to wait for it to cook. I would still recommend this restaurant to everyone… but I would caution them to go during the day or early evening. Sherry

All this experience did was reaffirm my need and dependency for Unilocal. In the past when I’ve made decisions on the fly using what I’ll call my «Man-Map»(using my brain or a hunch instead of researching online) and would usually get 50⁄50 results. In the past few years when I’ve utilized Unilocal to check out the reviews beforehand, it helps make things more transparent and predictable and relatively accurate. Should, coulda, woulda. One late weekend night I finished some errands and was in the area of S. Congress and Hwy 71. I haven’t had Chinese food in a while but suddenly got a craving for fried rice or quality Chinese food. T&S Seafood had been my reliable go-to option in the past but it’s too far up north, so instead of logging onto my obsolete and slow smart phone I decided to revert back to my Man-Map. Where should I go? For some reason the Man Map directs me to continue on S. Congress — — more Chinese options there. Okie Dokie! I finally run into the intersection of Will-Cannon and S. Congress, been here before, and there I see it — — China Emperor tucked away in the corner of the strip mall. The«open» sign is still on, I go in to do the gemba and I’m greeted by a very nice lady. The restaurant is empty, I see a buffet(ugh) so I ask if they’re still open(yes), can I order something from the menu(yes), can I also do a gemba of your buffet(yes). She’s really nice, attentive, and eager to please. Well the buffet was not looking that great — then again it is closing time, but the lady says they will make whatever I’d like should I go that route. Thank you but I think I’ll get the Combination Fried Rice instead — to-go. The price: $ 9.30 — — a bit higher than my expectations as it’s close to what I’ve paid for at T&S(which is really good), so I’m hoping this will be just as good… Food is out in about 15 min, a respectable portion size(large styrofoam to-go container filled) but when I got home and tried it I was definitely disappointed in the quality and taste — — it didn’t come close to what I expected. Somewhat bland, seasonings were off, I got some egg chunks, about 3 – 4 pieces of shrimp, pork, and beef, a couple of pieces of chicken. For 9 bucks I was expecting more generous meat portions with better taste and quality. I picked out the eggs, had a couple more bites, that was all I could handle, couldn’t finish the rest. I’d say 2 stars is an accurate and fair account since the customer service she provided was very friendly and prompt, unfortunately she’s not involved with cooking the cuisine. Man-Map FAIL

Just got back from lunch and I have to say this was the worst food I’ve ever had. The sesame chicken was grey and weird looking. in fact everything on the buffet here was kinda off. and it cost 10 bucks for the small ass lunch buffet. The tea was an additional 3 dollars. I have never in my life been so disgusted by food. I went her expecting a mediocre quality Chinese buffet. I walked in with low expectations and walked out feeling like I needed to vomit. As an example. The egg rolls were completely disgusting. Soggy and I couldn’t tell what was inside them… crispy isn’t something they seem to understand here everything that was fried seemed to have been soaked to sogginess afterwards. This Chinese restaurant managed to mess up. noodles and rice. The noodles were soggy and cold … the rice was mushy and hardly fried. I don’t know what these guys are thinking or how they have been in business for as long as they have. When I left the restaurant without tipping the owner/manager made a snotty comment … First its a buffet. no one waited on me. I would still normally have left a few bucks, but I only had one plate of food that was so bad I couldn’t eat and I was already charged over 10 dollars. I cant say enough bad things about this place. Nothing can ever give me back that lunch period. I went hungry until after work as a result of attempting to eat here. Let me be clear… This is the absolute worst food I have ever had in this entire town.
