Good taste, but not many flavors. And you cannot prepare your own yogurt, that is a down side for me. I love frozen yogurt, this is my No. 1 dessert in summer.

I wanted to love this place. The yogurt was, eh… OK, but nothing special! The price was plain ridiculous. Nearly $ 5 for a medium plain frozen yogurt. :/I won’t be back!

By far one of the most gross & disgusting lunches in quite a while! We went to give it a try & I can appreciate the keep Austin weird vibe, but the level of uncleanliness was terrible. Our daughter tried to get some sprite from the soda fountain and there were bugs & dirt in her cup. We couldn’t tell if it was from the ice dispenser or the sprite dispenser, but it made me want to leave immediately. The tables were dirty, the floor was dirty, the baskets our sandwiches came in were dirty. I managed to get half way through my sandwich before the girl at the counter went out the front door & proceeded to kick a ROACH from inside outside & step on it with her foot. I know we all probably eat at some pretty nasty places & you just can’t see what’s going on, but honestly I don’t know how this place stays open!

Love this joint, I walked in thinking it was another frozen yogurt place, oh boy~ what a surprise! This place has a ton of selections of sammiches and dessert type of items. This review will solely be on the dessert part… dont know about their sammiches YET! the place and staff are cool. They were very patient as I was trying to select from their varied menu. I chose to have the banana crack! simply put, a banana split, counter culture way! The banana as a base, then three different type of frozen yogurt to top it, with three different toppings and mounds of cream and chocolate syrup. You pretty much customize the whole thing to your liking. The mudslide yogurt was pretty delish~ Cant wait to go for some quick lunch and more dessert.

We’ve had their ‘only 8′ yogurt and LOVE it. The chocolate is a great standby but other delish flavors are the white chocolate, custard and more. Mint too powerful for us. Also fans of their sandwiches — especially the hot turkey — the warm wheat bread with the avocado is so good and not too heavy for lunch. Sometimes the wait is a little long and can be annoying if you’re limited on time. But doesn’t happen super often and their food is worth it.

Still have nothing but amazing things to say about Counter Culture and their Avocado delight sandwich. My update has to do with trying their FroYo. Bottom line is that its just as good as the food and amazingly only has 8 calories per serving and uses natural fructose. I’m now double hooked between the food and the froyo and am hitting this place up multiple times a week when I need a healthy snack.

You’ve got to be kidding me with the good reviews. Went go for a sandwich, and walked out $ 5.40 poorer with the smallest, most tasteless sandwich I’ve ever had. Egg salad was absolutely flavorless and the bread was cheap«wheat» wonderbread. Never again.

I think I’m in love. Banana crack you are to die for, you make yummy in my tummy and are ever so delightful. I had the nonfat yogurt with strawberries, bananas and whipped cream. Noooommmm. The yogurt itself was a tad bitter, but oh so good, and the strawberries and bananas made it soooo good. It’s a little out of my everyday price range, =(((. So it’ll have to be a treat when I feel special! They serve lunch items and have chocolate and pistachio flavored yogurt. It’s like going to Amy’s ice cream without all of the calories. Too bad they don’t offer punch cards or something Arg!

Okay so their frozen yogurts are pretty good but their food is just aweful(at least the two sandwiches I tried).

Home of the Humpfrey You have to try the Humpfrey here, it is yogurt with granola, honey and 3 different kinds of fresh fruit … yummy and healthy and enough for two :) I usually stop by here for lunch and get the Turkey Melt on the Cheddar Jalepeno sourdough. The bun is sweet yet has a nice little kick to it. The portions is a little small but the flavor is big. Another favorite of mine here is the Roasted Red Pepper and Gouda soup which has a really creamy texture with bits of gouda cheese. The lobster bisque soup sounds good to which i have to try the next time here. Oh and if you make the bearded owner smile, I’ll give you a dollar ;)

I like this place a lot for frozen yogurt and have found myself actually going out of the way to stop by, which I have never, ever, done before for a yogurt. Only 8 calories an ounce is truly awesome — and it does not taste like plastic or like artificial everything like other super low cal. yogurts. It tastes vaguely healthy and creamy, actually. My only gripe is their lack of the flavor«vanilla». Vanilla really is my favorite flavor, but they don’t carry it — ever. I don’t like chocolate yogurt. So, my favorite flavors here are strawberry and angel food cake. The peanut butter is good, too. Their«natural» flavor is quite sour tasting, however. More non-chocolate flavors please!

I really am in love with the vegetarian Avocado Delight sandwich. My hubby brought this home one day, out of the blue. I wasn’t sure I wanted any… until he had a bite and said how awesome it was. Then, it was MINE. :) Love this little place, the food is great. The people are super friendly and nice. Try to stop by here pretty often, not only since it’s good, but also to SUPPORTLOCAL! Keep up the great work y’all!

The coupon for free yogurt with purchase enticed me to try this place a few weeks ago. The sandwiches are quite tasty and all the ingredients are fresh. My favorite is the turkey with avocado added. I do wish the sandwiches were slightly larger, but they are a decent size for the price. The chocolate yogurt is also delicious and a health(ish) treat. Service is always quick and friendly. They have a drive thru which makes it the perfect stop on the way to the lake.

My husband is from Shreveport and has been taking me to CC there for a good while, so we were very excited to see it come to Austin. We only go for the yogurt(so far) but my gosh, it’s fantastic. So creamy and not overly sweet. Interesting flavors, and as far as the combos I always got the Humphrey prior to falling in love with the Pecan Delight. Now I can’t help myself, I must have a large one of those every time I go, really yummy. The only drawback, and the thing that I worry about in terms of CC surviving in Austin’s saturated yogurt-place market, is that their prices are too high compared to chain competitors like Red Mango that also do a fine creamy yogurt, and have the ubiquitous topping bar. CC’s model is a bit old fashioned in this respect, charging by the topping for a pick-your-own creation, which is why I always order one of their famed creations instead. We go here a couple of times a month currently, but that would amp up significantly if their prices were a little more in line with the market. But I also have to say that NOONE else sells yogurt this good around here, or just about anywhere, for my money. Which is why we’ll keep coming back. Would love to be able to give them more business and eat Pecan Delights every dang day.

FREE froyo with purchase of soup, sandwich, or salad? My eyes(and stomach) immediately caught a glimpse of this coupon amongst the myriad of fitness related ads in the April Issue of Austin Fit Magazine. Leave it to me to weed out the fitness ads and target the free food coupons! Why yes, please and thank you. Don’t mind if I do… This place is nestled near the Y at Oak Hill, not an area I frequent, so I never noticed the place. Upon walking in I see signs advertising their 8 calorie froyo. Immediately I am skeptical. 8 calories per ounce? seriously? I immediately think of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine ends up gaining weight after frequenting a «I can’t belive this is fat free» yogurt spot(she ends up having the yogurt tested and proves it is not actually fat free). Well, 8 calories or not, I had myself the flavor of the day, Dreamsicle. It was a creamy, delicious, orangy vanilla delight in my mouth. I chose to believe that I was only consuming 8 calories per ounce because I had myself a heaping cup of it. This was after I devoured my qualifying purchase of a tuna melt sandwich(in order to get the free yogurt). To my surprise the tuna melt was pretty magnificent in it’s own right. You get a choice of bread(wheat, sourdough, or jalapeño cheddar).I went with the jalapeño cheddar bread. It proved to be the clear winner’s choice for this sandwich. It kind of reminded me of Hawaiian bread with a slight spicy/sweet flavor to it. The fillings included tuna, swiss, avocado, chipotle mayo, onions, tomatoes, and sprouts. Oh my was it pleasantly and surprisingly good. My breath however. after consumption, different story. So my thanks go to Austin Fit, for providing me this little coupon. Otherwise I would have never stepped foot in this joint. I definitely will be back to try more supposed 8 calorie yogurt flavors, mysterious weight gain or not. I’m a FAN.

This makes me so happy! I used to go to this cool little yogurt shack when I lived in Louisiana during College. Since graduating, I have been on the search for this delectable creamy treat. I try the plain flavored frozen yogurt every where I go and never can find anything that even close to Counter Culture. So now I am happy to say that I just found out they expanded and now have an Austin location. The Humphrey is as good as I remembered. Counter Culture, get ready to have another regular!

Went here for lunch and had a meat melt which sounds slightly more carnivorous then it actually is and tasted quite delicious. My friends and I were the only patrons during lunch so our food came out very quickly and no one left disappointed. I knock it down one star only because there wasn’t anything that really made this place a unique snowflake. I will be back for lunch and if you happen to work in the Oak Hill area, it’s definitely worth a visit or twelve.

Stopped in after some Vietnamese food down the way… my friend and I have a weakness for frozen yogurt. I got the mango and pistachio in a swirl… she got the chocolate and pistachio in a swirl with choco chips on top. Delicious. And, get this… only 8 calories per ounce. You can’t freaking beat that! I will be frequenting this place, you can bet your last dollar!

I was having an off day when I walked into Counter Culture. I was thisclose to missing class because I woke up late, forgot my notebook, left my computer in the trunk, and just couldn’t seem to focus. Far be it from me to suggest that the Tuna Melt at Counter Culture has supernatural powers. But after I ate the yummy, avocado-filled tuna goodness on homemade jalapeño cheddar bread, I do believe my luck changed for the better. I hit the gym, finished outlining my chapters for the next week, and stuck like glue to my healthy eating resolution. Can I thank Counter Culture’s healthy, accommodating to vegan and vegetarian menu for turning my frown upside down? Absolutely. Do I think they might be using a little voodoo mojo to do it? The world may never know.
