Coyote Ugly

just went here to try out some new deep eddy vodka. got 2 of them for $ 3 each and tried them out. the Peach is really good! went to tab out was told it is a $ 10 minimum so added two more, then when i got the tab it was $ 15. didnt tip and left instantly after paying. not a good way to bring people in on slow nights.
also bartender ignored me whole time unless i was ordering and even then there was no conversation. worst experience on 6^th so far.

If I could give it no stars I would! The bartenders took advantage and pressured me and my friends into taking body shots after loosing a game. The girls working were not involved in taking the shot and we were still charged $ 40. When I talked to John, the manager, he we very disinterested and condensing. Not impressed with his attitude toward customers. We didn’t get our money back. So many good bars in Austin, this is definitely not one of them! Don’t waste your time!

this place sucks. sure the girls are hot but they are not at all excited about their jobs. you can tell they hate it, I’m sure all of em are supporting a drug habit.

Stopped in on a Tuesday night because we were just bar hopping. We were the only girls in the bar, but the bartenders were helpful and attentive to us. They were nice and pretty down to earth… I wouldn’t bring a girl there who is too much of a hater! Of course the bartenders ditzy and flirtatious… they are just doing their job. We weren’t there very long, but it was still ok. Good music!

The waitresses was nice, great customer service! The mix drink was awesome. However the music was jammin until one of the owners said we are not that type of place. Meaning he doesnt play any songs that has black artist and force bartenders to skip songs that has black artist, ie: fetty wap, lil wayne, future, etc… My boyfriend refused to stay due to the disrepect and the Owners lack of equality of all music.

Fuck them racist bastards! My daughter about to serve our country and you gonna refuse service for no reason and bring tears to her eyes! We came all the way from Cali to this so sad:(

Yeahhhh. I stepped foot in the door, waited two min to get noticed then left. Had it been busy I’d understand but nothing about the place was worth staying for…

Much Has been written about the Coyote and most of the reviews are truthful. Do not come in here expecting to be catered to you won’t be. This place is like some weird vortex that draws all kinds of people in. Don’t order mixed drinks cause of course they are weak and very overpriced. I stick to beer while in here. Probably the only reason I give it three stars is cause it has a jukebox. This is a bar that just screams for you to put on old school AC/​DC and cheesy Motley Crue songs. The place is fun on Sat when it’s full when it’s not full you are better off going to another bar. It’s painful to watch the bartenders become even more hard sellers than usual cause of lack of customers. Your songs that you put on the jukebox are at the mercy of the bartender. They will skip the song if they think it sucks. What’s funny is that I can DJ with the best of em. It’s about reading the crowd and making decisions about what works and what doesn’t. I put on a good mix of rock and country and a whole bunch of females got on the bar. Bartender thought this would be a great time to find some booty shaking hip hop to get the girls moving, even though they were grooving to the songs. Long story short. Bartender finally puts on Sir Mix a lot after having started and skipped several songs the crowd liked right then all girls got off the bar and half the people in the bar left.
The moral of the story, let the crowd dictate what you put on the jukebox and don’t try to force them to listen to crap they hate just to try and sell more shots.

Great time tonight with the girls. Started slow on a Wednesday night — had the place to ourselves.
Quickly got packed and more and more things happened — women are always welcome to dance on the bar. Shots are always flowing and the girls entertain.
Had a great time and will be back.

I am giving this one star because there is not an option for zero. Upon arriving to this sauna, I was disgusted to hear and see the bar tender that evening. The less than attractive girl on the bar was in fishnets and yelling «penis» while having the crowd chant back «vagina.» Classy. She proceeded to basically force a man to take a body shot off of her and cussed out a few others. Never. Going. Back. Ew.

Came here on vacation with my boyfriend and the crowd was very very small (Monday night) but the girls working there were awesome!!! They were very nice, fun and had great attitudes. We were singing along with them and taking shots with us! Definitely showed us a good time in Austin!!! Thanks girls!

I didn’t even want to give this a star but I guess I had to.
I asked for a shot of tequila on the rocks…
Female «Bartender/​Manager» takes the bottle of Tequila and sees that it’s almost empty. Literally A HALF ounce left. Puts rocks in a glass and pours the tequila. Hands me the «drink» and says «That’ll be $ 10.»
I said «You didn’t even measure that out?» and she poured it into a jigger and it came up just above half way. She told me she has the 4 count attachment on her hoses. She lied. No such thing LOL. Refused to give me another ounce or half at least and refused to give me my money back.
SHE THEN calls the bouncer over and gets me kicked out.
Never again, also the gross girl dancing on the bar was such a turnoff. She was just sweating everywhere

DO NOT COME HERE… Spent 100 bucks couldn’t even use the restroom after they closed!!! Do not come here and waste your time. Owner declined me after I spent my money. I showed him my receipt he said «can’t let anyone use be bathroom after 2am» shitty service too. Bartender tried to keep my change as well.

Yeah… Never again. First and last time at Coyote Ugly. The bartenders dancing on the bar while screaming, cursing, and putting men down.
Somebody else commented that this place uses «high pressure sales methods» could not agree anymore! The bartenders will have you play a game and if you win or lose you have to buy a $ 20 body shot or $ 25 t-​shirt. Ha! Thanks but no thanks!

Landed in this wondrous place at 3 p.m. on a Sunday! And although there may have only been 5 or so people there, the place was fun!
I had seen the movie, but never thought the bar actually imitated it! The bar tender was hilarious! She entertained me the whole time I was there!
I would have loved to experience this place in the evening and with a crowd! As one should experience it.
For the brief experience I had here, I enjoyed it!

I guess this first and only Coyote Ugly bar I’ve been to. I haven’t seen the movie yet but the bartenders were dancing on the bar which was pretty cool. The bar was pretty big but there weren’t that much people inside the bar.

I’ve wanted to go to a Coyote Ugly for forever (since Piper Perabo made me want to be her) but somehow missed out on that until recently. Turns out it was for the best, though.
At 9pm on a Saturday, there were maybe 20 people here but the bartender/​dancers were still trying HARD. Too turnt. Too thirsty.
We were forced to buy shots at 9:04, and had to watch some really really awkward body shots between two of the girls for the gentleman next to me. Only $ 20! The bartender was just annoying, wouldn’t leave us alone, and it was hard to conduct transactions with people’s feet stomping around. I wonder how many people have gotten broken hand bones at the expense of a girl in fishnets and a tube top.

I knew that this place was not for me before we went in, but we were seeing a show nearby and wanted a couple of drinks.
I mean, we’ve all seen the movie.
We walked by and liked the music, and could see someone shuffling up and down that bar.
Otherwise, this place was pretty empty.
There were a couple of bartenders, a couple of bouncers, and some really old men, who PROBABLY could find somewhere better suited to their tastes. (But maybe looking at scantily clad women is there taste. I’m not judging.)
I could describe this place in three words: High pressure sales
I mean, we were going to buy drinks. You don’t have to force them on us. Yes, I’m sure that does taste JUST like breast milk. (And really, as a gay dude, that doesn’t sound very appetizing.)
I mean, our bartender was great. She was super friendly. But lining up the shot glasses and practically forcing them down our throats, come on now.
Are body shots really that appealing that you’ll pay triple for a shot?

Not at all what we expected. Of all the places on 6^th Street, for some reason we ended up here, and it was a mistake. Granted, it was a Tuesday night, but the place was dead. There were probably 15 people in there total. Three ladies in mom jeans got up on the bar and danced, and bless their hearts, they did a pretty damn good job. Then, it was the bartenders chance. Two got up there while the third screamed into the microphone. One «danced» a bit while the other just kept walking back and forth on the bar, more prowling than dancing.
Next, the bartender with the mike started screaming that it was shot time. My buddy and I threw down our Shiner’s and got the heck out of there. Won’t be going back to this place, that’s for sure.

Setting out for my first fun night in Austin, we stopped into Coyote Ugly for a quick drink during Happy Hour. Both drinks were like $ 5, which was a steal.
The place is a little dirty and run down, but the girls were friendly enough. After one, we were ready to move on to the next stop.
