Have you ever had that late night desire for custard? Let’s say it’s around 9:30pm and you drive to your neighborhood Culvers for the first time to get your fix. After entering and seeing stained white floors, you place your order. It’s somewhat expensive for what it is, but it’s really your only option so you shrug off the fact that you just spent $ 8. Next, you step back and wait… and wait… and wait. Someone else orders and then an overweight family walks in. The mom slips and falls tanking it into the counter. Her two daughters yell questioningly in unison, «MOMAREYOUOK!!!» She gets up blaming the bone dry yet«wet» floor and not the fact that she was wearing wedges that were way too small for her feet and heightened her center of gravity. She starts berating the people who work there as your custard becomes available. You tell the barely 18 year old shift manager that the floor wasn’t wet and the way she fell indicated a misstep and not a slip. You hand him your business card and tell him to pass it on to the manager or owner of they want an unbiased recollection of what happened. All the while you’re saying this, you’re getting the stinkiest of stink-eyes from olé slip and slide herself and her fresh from the bathroom husband. Overpriced food. The worst patrons on the planet. A place I will never return to. Madness?! This. Is. Culvers.

The Oreo was great. Loved the kids butterball burger. The fries were good as well. The servers were incredibly helpful too. heard the pork loin dsanwhich is good, but nothing beats a butter burger. loved the fact I could put vinegar on my fries.

They gave pretty good fried cheese curd and root beer! I’ve never had their burgers, but their custard is pretty good.

Had a pleasant dining experience here during the lunch hours. The associates were very friendly and the menu offered different selections of delicious items. The establishment was clean and well kept. Our food arrived quickly and the cheese curds were fried to a perfectly crisp and golden brown degree. The sandwich was perfectly assembled and the toppings were of good quality and fresh. The burger patty itself was slightly bland during this visit though. Other than that, we had a great time here.

GUYS. When I moved to Austin and Husboy and I saw how fit everyone was, I was like«Alright, I’m tired of fast food anyway. It’s all Mississippi has, out side of the obligatory Chinese buffets, casino buffets, and chain delicacies, such as Applebee’s.» So, I basically stopped eating all of the things that I lived off of during high school and college in Mississippi. Taco Bell? On occasion. So, Mississippi does not have a Culver’s. OHMAN. It’s so good. It’s SO good. That single Culver’s Deluxe is so juicy, is around 390 calories, and it just tastes so perfect. Skip the fries. They’re just crinkle cut. FRIEDCHEESECURDS is where it’s AT. Sure, it’s an extra $ 1.10 to your measly $ 5.50 order. DOIT. It’s a great mix of fried mild cheddar and mild mozzarella, and they come with some really, really good Red Gold Marinara sauce. Ice cream. It’s no Amy’s BUT it’s very creamy, very custardy, and very delicious. It’s easily the best fast food ice cream I’ve ever had.

I love fish and chips so I got the cod dinner. You know how in restaurant ads the picture of the food always looks plump, shiny, and flawless? Then when you actually get it it’s dull and floppy. When my food came out here it looked like the ad picture! The breading was just right and the fish inside was juicy and delicate. It probably helped that I came in right around the start of the dinner crowd.

When it comes to fast food, burgers give me the creeps. That being said, I don’t eat a fast food burger often, but from what i can recall — Culver’s wins at quick burgers. The patties are thin, cooked with a crispy edge. I like the patty melt, on sourdough w/onions and cheese. They also serve things like fish sandwiches, pot roast and meatloaf. C’mon — that’s so much better than McD or Wendy’s, right? Also, cheese curds — eat them. Did i mention the custard? OMG — better than ice cream. The daily custard flavor changes, errr — daily. On mondays, a pint of custard is $ 1.99(vs. 4.99).

I wish Culver’s had a food truck. And I wish that food truck followed me everywhere I went, because as a non-native of Austin, I constantly crave this greasy goodness. Fried cheese curds: phenomenal. Obviously don’t expect any good ol’ poutine squeak, but if you look at it as like… the best cheese sticks you’ll ever have, then you’re primo. Culver’s root beer: THEBEST. My favorite. Better than any bottled variety I’ve ever had, and I’m into craft root beers like others are into craft beers. Frozen custard: ALSOREALLYGOOD. Why is Culver’s not in my life? Probably so I don’t have a heart attack and die, but that’s honestly a price I’d be willing to pay to have constant access to one of these bad boys.

Awsome. The buger leaked grease then said grease changed from a liquid to a solid form. I knew what i was getting into though the butter burger gets 5 stars

Butter burgers… cheese curds… frozen custard… oh my. Culver’s is a midwest fastfood chain that has made it’s way down to Austin(woohoo!). I saw my first Culver’s in Branson, MO., many, many years ago and I really wanted to stop there for some midwest goodness but I, sadly, ran out of time and I never got my butter burger. For the last six years, I have been thinking about Culver’s with much regret so when I saw it in south Austin a few days ago, I made it a point to stop and I’m so glad that I did. It is mmm mmm good and I finally got my butter burger. It was everything that I thought it would be. Juicy, buttery, midwest goodness.

The lady taking our order didn’t ask what we wanted on our burgers or if we wanted double or single burgers. So we ended up with dry double burgers that completely fell apart when trying to eat them. The only good thing is the delicious cheese curds. I doubt i will come back just for that though. Should of just gone to Fuddruckers, it would of been the same price and my food wouldn’t of fallen apart.

Consistently great food and service! This is our go to place for non-gourmet burgers. There is plenty of meat on the burgers and the fires are the large cringle type which I like. This is how buger joints used to be 30+ years ago(cook when ordered) so definetly take the family here as they have many choices on the menu. Another great plus is that there are usually 2 for 1 coupons in the mail that lets you get 2 value baskets for the price of 1.

I wrote the same review for both locations, they’re both top-notch! This place never ceases to amaze me. It looks like fast food, but place an order in the drive through and you’ll see that it’s not. They always tell you to pull up and they’ll bring the food out to you. This is because they don’t cook it until you order it. Now their burgers are great, I love the mushroom swiss. The have a marvelous pot roast sandwich that reminds me of the incredibly good pot roast my mother made. The thing I crave the most though is the best(by far) fried fish sandwich(cod) in Austin. On a bun, with shredded cheese, lettuce, tartar sauce and a pickle. It’s just great. Service is always friendly and excellent. I’ve never had a bad meal at either of the two locations. If you’ve never tried this place, do so, you will not regret it!

Friendly service, great food, and the most amazing shakes. You need to order the cheese curds and the mushroom Swiss. My favorite and yours too once you try them. Extensive menu but it’s all good. Great lunch location.

Let me start by saying I love Culver’s frozen custard! If I was not concerned about being as big as a house then I might stop here everyday to get some and check out the flavor of the day. Since I do try to think about what goes into my mouth I really do not go here but a few times a year. Their custard is yummy! I love the smores flavor of the day! Culver’s has a lot on the menu and most of it is decent too from the items I have tried. Their butter burgers are good and juicy. When you eat it it drips down your hand. Their fries are OK. The chicken strips are OK. The cheese curds are pretty good. There are several other things on the menu I have never gotten but have heard are pretty good too. The thing is that when I want a burger I will probably go somewhere like P-terry’s or Whataburger. That is just it — when I want this genre of food — Culver’s is not on the for front of my mind. If I was looking at Culver’s as just an ice cream shop they would probably get 4 stars from me — that custard has never let me down!

Culver’s has such a diverse menu, this makes it very hard to review. The range of experiences you can have at Culver’s is pretty varied. Some of the items on the menu are definitely not what you would expect to see at a fast food chain, but are served very fast. I love the Butter Burgers. They are yummy fast food treats. The fries at Culver’s are sub par but the burgers are rockin for fast food drive through burgers. I have had several of the dinner options also, such as the Pot Roast. You don’t quiet get diner quality with the Pot Roast type options but they are still a great deal for the price and rather tasty. You can also get most of the Diner type food as as sandwich. using the Pot Roast as an example for instance they also have a Pot Roast sandwich. The Frozen Custard is also pretty awesome. They have a rotating flavor of the month selection that is always interesting. The Custard is definitely better than your average fast food soft serve. Even taking Culver’s food for what it is I still feel like there could be some quality improvements. I feel like the burgers are better than McDonald’s quality but no where near P’terry’s quality. The Diner food is somewhere between a TV Dinner and Denny’s. If they would improve the quality of the food a bit I wouldn’t even mind paying a bit more. If you need a fast lunch Culver’s will do fine. but if there are better options out there why bother.

I’m not one to often review a fast food chain… but since I had never before in my life tried Culver’s, and since to me, they weren’t a staple growing up, it was a new experience, indeed. As far as a fast food burger goes, I’d give it about 4 stars. The frozen, crinkle cut fries drop ‘em to three. I mean, in my book, there isn’t a fast food burger joint that can touch Whataburger, but this place has an attitude and flavor of its own… namely, the chocolate malt. Not a bad cheap, unhealthy dinner option.
