Good place nearby home to study. Baristas are nice, atmosphere is chill. Lighting is a bit dim though. Noise level is good for studying. As for the drinks, I got one of the teas. Don’t remember which one, but it was good! They let me sniff the leaves to choose which one I wanted.

I’ve been going to Cuppa Austin for two years and can’t stop singing their praises. The owners are the sweetest people and are very involved in the day-to-day operations. This seems to reverberate throughout the atmosphere, quality of the product, and the friendliness of the staff. They have a true knack for picking great people. Even some of the newer baristas were fast to learn my name(which wasn’t a terribly hard process since they see me almost every day). Even if the coffee was pure garbage — which it isn’t, and I’ll get to that shortly — I’d come here just to interact with the people. Michelle, the owner, has a passion for gardening and arranging flowers and is frequently seen fluttering around the store placing beautiful fresh plants and greeting(and hugging) the guests. They care about their patrons and put a personal touch on everything. Onto the coffee… they work with a very small-batch, exclusive roaster(Crimson Cup) that has easily become my favorite. I typically prefer darker roasts, but their medium offering is masterfully roasted and has all the depth and flavor that you could want. I haven’t found a coffee that I like better. They also have a spectacular selection of teas, and brew it to order with a timer, ensuring you get a fresh, not bitter cup. I’d be remiss if I did not mention some other important odds and ends: the WiFi is reasonably fast and I’m always able to be productive. They have lots of tables and chairs available and I’m usually able to find a slot even on a busy day. There are ample places to plug in, if necessary. They also have a cozy little couch seating area in the back with board games and a coffee table. TL;DR: Cuppa Austin is the best coffee shop I’ve found in Austin and I strongly recommend you check it out at least once.

Such a great coffee shop! My favorite in the area. Baristas are always friendly, drinks are high quality and perfectly made, atmosphere is warm and inviting. I love it here, and I’m so glad I live nearby. Don’t forget to sign up for the frequent buyer program. The barista are able to look up your name in the system, which is nice if you are one of those people who constantly loses loyalty cards(like I am).

The coffee was spot on as was everything else. 1 star less for how long it took to get my coffee especially in a time crunch. Go for the drive-thru if you are pressed for time!

So glad I found this place. This is my second visit and both times, I’ve found the café bustling but not crowded. A transplant from South Austin, one of my loudest complaint was the lack of decent coffee shops on the edge of town. I had been going to SB’s because it was the only close by option, but this is now my new place to get work done. It’s got the regular mix of independent contractors working, students studying and groups meeting you’d see at any shop, not too crowded and even has really good coffee. Reminds me a lot of Austin Java, with out the restaurant. Highlights: — Good coffee — Friendly service — Easy parking — Snacks — Lots of power outlets — Open till — Drive thru

After our last review, the owner Alan S. mentioned the good coffee that they buy from Ohio. I like to buy local stuff when possible, but due to his nice comments we went and bought a bag of Sumatra Mandheling Dark Roast Coffee Beans from Ohio. I just ground some of the beans and made a cup… excellent coffee. Thanks Alan. We recommend that Unilocal coffee lovers check out this place. I also got a nice iced café latte. My wife got a frozen Aztec Mocha coffee drink made w/Ghiradelli chocolate. Both were delish. I also devoured a good piece of pumpkin bread. We will be back soon.

4.5 really — I came here to get some work done and grab a drink. Pros First of all — Cuppa Austin Mocha — totally worth the hype(if you read through other Unilocal reviews) — Do try. I can’t wait to try other interesting drinks on their menu Lot of seating and outlets(multiple outlets) for every table. Con Outdoor seating will be nice, I like natural light, most of the windows are covered by shades.

The best coffee shop in town. Really nice decoration. I’m falling in love with the drinks here by my first time. Highly recommended

Got the Masala Chai black tea and it’s possibly the best tea I’ve ever had. The service was outstanding, too. They treated us like family from the second we stepped inside. Definitely my new favorite coffee shop in Austin!

Cute little coffee place right by my apartment! I have only been here a handful of times but the service has been great every time. The staff is knowledgeable, and it doesn’t feel like an assembly line like it does at the local Starbucks. They do have a drive through. You just have to pay attention or you’ll drive around it.

Something between Starbucks and old school Austin charm. Decent coffee served by friendly folks in a tacky* décor. Don’t come here looking for the upscale single origin fancy coffee served at some of Austin’s more noteworthy shops. This place has smoothies. It does seem like a good place to get work done — plenty of tables and outlets. Not my jam, but I can see the appeal. And the coffee ain’t bad! *All the signage is a real turnoff. Every drink they serve is advertised on cheap-looking posters somewhere in the windows(blocking a lot of the natural light) or on a wall.

It’s pretty far north but there’s parking, seating, plenty of outlets, food, open until 11pm every day, and they are currently playing punk at a polite volume. For being in a strip mall it’s delightfully funky Austin. It is everything I’m looking for in a coffee shop.(I wouldn’t mind longer hours or if they served hard cider though!)

It’s a bit out of the way(coming from Cedar Park/Leander) but completely worth the drive. Staff is great and the coffee is truly amazing. Their Cuppa Austin Mocha is delicious and addicting, frozen or hot! You also can’t beat the $ 2 kid’s size of any drink. My little girl can’t get enough of that frozen hot chocolate. Come here and you’ll never go to a Starbucks again.

Excellent place for a cuppa coffee! The atmosphere is pretty chill and the service is friendly. I only been here once but I think this would be a good place to hang out, read, or study. There is a decent amount of seating and plenty of natural light to fill the room. Tables were clean when we got there too. The coffee here is good and you can even have it served in a ceramic mug if you aren’t taking it to go(earth friendly). There is just something nice about drinking something warm in a ceramic mug. I also tried the green tea latte as well but I wasn’t a big fan of it because it still had bits of matcha green tea undissolved(which made it more bitter every other sip), but it was still ok. If I was around the area and wanted a cuppa coffee, I would stop by again! I would stick with their coffee selection though.

it is a good coffee shop just like Starbucks. students are all over studying as they generally do at any other coffee shop. sometimes i wonder why!!! anyway this place is not that big and i think the way they have arranged their furniture, it looks smaller than it is. I thought to give this coffee shop a try, than always going to starbucks. but meh nothing striking good.

Moved to Austin recently from the emerald city so looking for a local coffee shop to support. Rather give my business to a small business than Starbucks. Have visited twice and had two different experiences. First visit on a Sunday morning. Barista was an older gentleman who was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel like he was glad I was there. Ordered mocha and one of their breads. He offered to heat it, made sure I had one of their frequent coffee drinker cards, and checked in later to make sure I was pleased. Great first experience. Second visit on a Tuesday morning. They are a bit out of the way between home and work, but thought after my first visit it would be good to see how long it would take and whether they would be a good regular stop. Second visit was less successful. Coffee was bitter, barista was abrupt, and no offer to heat my bread. Barista didn’t ask if I had one of their cards and sighed loudly when I mentioned I had one. Thought this might be worth the drive, and will give them another shot, but after the second visit not so sure worth going out of the way for. Will see…
