Awesome little neighborhood place that’s quickly become a favorite local destination for kids and parents alike. I stopped in recently after having been to their neighbors Lakeview Pizza & Grill, and Kawa’s Asian cuisine. Loved the fact that they have Blue Bell and Amy’s ice cream there — one brand is going away, didn’t catch which one! I got a couple of cones(Mexican Vanilla and the Zilker Mint Chip) and chilled out with a friend. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn’t encounter any problems with cleanliness. It seems like a very friendly and well-run establishment, and I’ll be back I found out that they’ve moved into serving hot food like burgers and philly cheesesteaks 5 – 6 months ago, so I’ll be updating this review when I’ve had more than dessert!

Every neighborhood should have a Cups & Cones! They are the heart of the Steiner Ranch community. My dog and I go for a sausage kolache(or sausage wrap, or breakfast taco or pretzel dog or donut or fruit danish) and coffee at least 5 mornings a week. It is a great way to break up a long dog walk, and prices are very affordable. There are plenty of tables inside and outside, and water available for dogs. Steiner Ranch folks, as well as people from neighboring developments, have business meetings, bring their kids to art class or for story-telling time, and stay to organize neighborhood events. There is a special kids’ section with toys to keep them occupied. They have comfortable furniture and even a library if you need to chill with a book and cup of coffee. They serve as the meeting place for walking and biking groups. C&C has pre-packaged lunch box salads and sandwiches, ice cream, snow cones, all kinds of pastries from great bakeries(like Russells!), serve yourself coffee, special Starbucks-type coffees, teas, soup, oatmeal, cold and hot sandwiches which they will make for you, chips, and now they have a grill for burgers! They also have fountain drinks, bottled drinks/juices of all kinds. The family and their staff are always welcoming and work hard from early morning until after dark. They also allow C&C to serve as a community center for charitable giving such as wounded veterans and CASA. They are good people! And to Kyle who inspired me to brag on my Cups and Cones, I’m sorry you were disappointed in not being able to get exactly what you wanted on a particular day. As you can see from my review, there is ALWAYS food at C&C — and it is all delicious!

I’m often in Steiner Ranch for work and love stopping by Cups & Cones for a deli sandwich and pastry to take with me. I always get it to go and their sandwiches are always delicious! It sure beats driving all the way to the 2222 area for a quick lunch.

People at the counter are great, the place is clean, and the coffee is good. The problem is the food, not that it is bad, but that it is always out. 9 out of 10 times I go there they are out of what I want, whether it be breakfast tacos, kolaches, danishes, etc. If you are going to have something on your menu, it better be available. Bottom line, if you are planning on going here anytime after 8am and for anything other than coffee or ice cream, don’t bother, chances are they won’t have what you are looking for.

Good coffee. Great staff, super friendly. The place is very family and kid friendly with books and games for all. Of course, there’s ice cream too. Pleasant quiet music plays.

This haven is a cornerstone, literally, of this community. They are like the nurturing parents of Steiner ranch always selflessly giving their time and love to anyone who needs it. And of course they have the best coffee, kolaches, and of course ice cream. Thank you Cup and Cones! Don’t ever leave us!

My favorite place in all of Austin. Cups and cones being so much to the entire steiner community. Not only do they have great breakfast food but they are a great place to meet up.

Yikes! This place is FILTHY! I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I ordered an iced mocha that tasted horrible along side a frozen piece of banana bread. I couldn’t help but notice every singe chair and table base needed to be seriously wiped down, even the front windows were covered with grime. Discusting sticky dirty floors. Flies everywhere! Such a shame… will not return!

Not only is this a great place to get Blue Bell ice cream, cappuccino, salads, & paninis… This shop is a great part of our community in Steiner Ranch. Local owners, great tasting food, great service, great place for families. Thanks for being what our neighborhood needs!!! You guys are awesome!!!

These people really really work for their community. I mean extremely. Kristy & Rick Nordin are some of the most caring and professional retail owners I’ve met. First of all, the business serves a need in the community. They offer coffee, sandwiches, Blue Bell ice cream and now Boar’s Head deli meats and cheeses by the pound. Secondly, they support local artists and crafters in the Austin area. They will bring their goods into the store so that you may shop for the much needed unique gift. Third, they work their bunz off outside the store for their community. They have headed so many neighborhood projects it’s not even funny. Cups & Cones has supported many team family/friend charity organizations. Inside the store they offer ways for the community to gather. Such as rainbow bracelet loom night, Rudy’s music & youngster teacher, and other regular weekly meet-ups. They support the school systems like no other. Teacher/Coach/etc day… they produce sack lunches.

Ok, my wife has been here several times when it was ‘dirty’ as she described it. So I can understand how people wouldn’t want to take their kids there if that was the case… But, they are super nice people and local business owners… worth supporting.

Excellent family-friendly ice cream shop in SR. The selection of cones is great. Only had one coffee but unfortunately it was disappointing. I need flat white. Good selection of pastries as well, including kolaches. Fun place to hang out with the kids as there is plenty of space and toys.

Love this place! In Steiner ranch. Within walking distance. Well run. It doesn’t have many flavors of ice cream and the place looks a bit beat up but it caters to families so that’s to be expected. I’m really happy with this place. I’ve been going for about 2 years now and the kids LOVE it.

Love the Blue Bell ice cream. The prices were reasonable, the seating was plentiful(if a little sticky), and the girls at the counter were super friendly. I guess it would be hard to complain much about ice cream, so there you have it.

This is my favorite place to take my family to in Steiner Ranch. Ice cream for the kids and kolaches for mom & dad(you have to try the Jalapeño Kolache)! We have been going there since they opened for business. The owners are great and caring, and the staff is very friendly. Yes, this is an awesome hangout for families with young children. They have an entire area set up for kids to play, and lots of toys to pick from. It is right next door to my son’s school so we often run into his friends there after school or have playdates there. It does get noisy when it is packed with children but that is expected from any kids-friendly place. Its not noise, its the sound of joy! Lots of good memories with my family and friends there and my son loves it.
