This place was awful! Thought because it was at the domain and the ambiance was pleasurable that the service and food would be adequate. Saw our waiter a couple of times. They didn’t have the drink we ordered even though it was featured on the menu. The next drink we ordered stated it had jalapeño in it. I know my husband and he can eat a fresh jalapeño; I don’t know if they juiced twelve fresh peppers with seeds and put them all in there but the drink was literally 11/12ths jalapeño juice it was unbearable, he couldn’t even drink it and had to send it back. Disgusting. The waiter said he would bring us bread which we got after our meal arrived. My meal came out incorrectly and my husband’s tasted awful. All that being said it was wildly over priced. With prices starting at $ 12 drinks, $ 10 for a side salad, $ 22 chicken, etc. wish we could have gotten up and left. What a terrible cheat meal :(

Went to brunch there with hubs and 2 kids. Scrambled eggs were brown from overcooking, French toast was dry and lukewarm with terrible texture. They need to use different bread. Monkey bread they bring at first tasted dry and like 3 day old pastries. SOOOO unimpressed. Too expensive to be so disappointing. Will definitely not be back. It’s too bad, the location is great and the atmosphere was nice. Service was pretty good.

We live in the Domain and have eaten here a hand full of times. However, after today we will not return. Our breakfast was mediocre at best, the service was okay(husband not happy) but to add insult to injury as we were finishing our coffee a cockroach walk along our booth. Check please! The waiter killed the creature and apologised. Then brought us our check. Nothing from the manager, didn’t even take our coffee of the check. We will not return. Sadly besides the Stepping Room and Punch Bowl Social there isn’t any other places for breakfast during the week. Needless to say we will be going to either of the two mentioned and not the Daily Grill.

Came for a company event and it was terrible. I’m not sure where they got these miniature glasses from, but both the drinks and food were not worth it. Food was ordered ahead, but still the service was slow and the dish was cold upon arrival. Would not recommend to anyone. Someone commented that Luby’s would have been better, so that about sums it up.

Was excited for the reverse happy hour. It’s not bad, but only 6 of the maybe 15 happy hour appetizers are available on the REVERSE menu. Kinda lame. We tried the naked wings, cheeseburger sliders and Sriracha cheese fries. All of which were good but not great. Also, the mixed drinks on the hh menu are just average. The regular menu looked pricey. My advice: stick to the regular hh hour menu and you’ll be a-okay.

I have to say I’ve never tried pumpkin crème brûlée but since the crème brûlée happens to be one of my favorite desserts and they happen to have it in pumpkin I had to tell them to take the receipt back because it’s not finished I need to have this pumpkin crème brûlée and I’m so glad that I did it was absolutely delicious! The perfect compliment with my filet that was perfectly cooked on medium it was still a little medium rare which was perfect for me. The wine list unfortunately most are from 2013 to the bad here but I did find a good Merlot that was a 2012 that was absolutely amazing perfect compliment to the artichoke dip for appetizer and my steak for the main course. I was able to substitute the potatoes for a brown rice with almonds and everything was absolutely tasty and delicious Tiffany was are amazing server who was such a delight to have by the table was very polite and accommodating us in the most amazing way possible I would come here and love to be seated by her anytime

I think the food here is an after thought… I used to live in the ‘hood years ago and would come for happy hour and reverse happy hour… but that’s just it, it’s basically just a place to drink. Wine beer cocktails whatever… the bar is a social joint, you go to meet people talk and get throwed… in a classy way? the food is equivalent to a carrabas or olive garden, EXCEPT for one dish and one dish only, and I didn’t enjoy this dish at this DG, it was at the one in Houston, and it’s the pork chop. Happy hour food is salty, fried and meh. I only recommend this place for someone who wants to go to a bar and socialize, but not be around a bunch of newly legal drinkers… it’s more mature partiers if you will. Parking is a b*#@. Valet is an option, garage is a walk but also an option. Non-prime hours you may get lucky and get close parking.

Had a «full sized» Cobb Salad which was supposed to contain 2x the amount of chicken as the«lunch sized». Firstly, the salad itself barely had any chicken in it which ended up being a good thing… It was not grilled but cubed and(over) cooked blandly as possible. Second, the dressing also lacked flavor and was too liberally applied. Finally, the cheese included was in large chunks that were visually indistinguishable. There was clearly no thought applied to the construction of this salad because if there was they would change it. Don’t get the Cobb.

I was visiting from Dallas and heard wonderful things about their Eggs Benedict but arrived on Friday(no brunch) and our lovely host Kimberly went above and beyond for me! She asked the chef if he could prepare it since it was the reason I was even dining at the restaurant and he said yes. She didn’t have to do that for me but she did. Made my day.

I attended a gathering for a group of 12 in their private room. The chicken picatta wasn’t that spectacular and the portion was small for the price. They use a large stem of broccoli as a plate filler. Mashed potatoes were cold. The waiter was rare to be seen and acted like he would rather be someplace else when we did see him. In the end, our entire party got a nice slap in the face as we were charged a «15% table and service fee» for using their long table and off room! Can we say TACKY?!? Our waiter explained that it was for the room and extra«personnel» that they had to serve us… what extra server? He was our only one and he sucked! And no, we didn’t take anymore time to done than any other party, so this table«rent» was robbery! All that, before the tip. NEVERAGAIN!

I have come a handful of times to the daily grill and have always had great service, but this afternoon I waited probably 10min with an empty glass waiting for the bartender to address me but she never did because she was taking a 6 top along with a big party outside! I’m all about taking multiple tables but when you neglect your first customers that’s when I get annoyed and on top of that the managers wife was there sitting about five seats away and he was only attending to her when my glass was clearly empty in front of him. Worst service ever!

Ok… I don’t usually write reviews however, this needs to be said. I came in for my bosses farewell happy hour which was booked for about 50 people on the outside patio on the late afternoon of 10/13/2015. I arrived about 5pm, went to the bar, orderded a drink and opened a tab. I promptly returned to the patio and had some conversations with friends and colleagues. I sat down at a table and a bunch of friends were ordering appetizers so i ordered another top shelp mojito and a spinach artichoke dip. Needless to say everyone’s food and drinks but mine came out and a friend who had joined us and ordered 15 mins after i ordered got his food… I asked the waitress to inquire about my artichoke dip and she said sure. About 10 mins later the guy i ordered from comes over and says, «You opened your tab at the bar so if you want any drinks or food you are going to have to go order it yourself because we can’t switch tabs from the bar to the restaurant.» At this point I had not eaten all day and it had been nearly 45 minutes since I ordered a drink and an appetizer and he’s telling me to go get it myself. This level of service felt really crappy since everyone else around me got prompt service and food. Last time I checked I was the customer and the internal processes and difficulties of the restaurant should not prevent me from getting food without having to get up and get it myself. I literally left shortly after this mess since i was starving and went to Burger King and got a whopper which was sad because I really wanted to try a Daily Grill entrée as well. Thanks Daily Grill!

Back after a long time for lunch with a client because it was their suggestion, highly disappointed! I had soup and half sandwich $ 13.65 besides the outrageous price it was probably the worst tuna melt I had with the yellow sliced cheese still stilling there(no melting!). The clam soup was full of onions and tasteless. Finally had to ask for Tabasco to try to get some of it down. Wish I had pictures but can’t do that at business meetings. To management please have your folks learn to cook!

Great place, great room and the staff were SUPER attentive! The cost was very reasonable and not inflated like other Domain establishments. Thanks for taking care of us all, Damien & Kimberly. I highly recommend the Daily Grill for your HH and/or event outings.

This place was excellent! One of those classy, semi-fancy restaurants but with a chill vibe. The chicken piccata was pretty good but the piece du resistance was their macaroni ‘n cheese. Some of the very, very best macaroni ‘n cheese I’ve ever had in my entire life. Plus the service was top-notch.

So, on reading the other reviews, it looks like stuff here is hit and miss, but with our first trip here, it was a huge HIT. 5 stars, with the extra bump from 4 being the amazing service. I felt as if they KNEW somehow I was going to come review them on Unilocal, but they couldn’t have, so kudos to them. We got the«booth or table» question, which was kind of amazing for a Friday night(though it was early), and they made a booth happen quickly. It took them about 45.2 seconds to get us waters, and then maybe about 75.12 seconds for them to come back and check on us about questions on the menu, with an apology for the wait. No apology needed, man, we’re still salivating over the choices… but it was appreciated. It was like the manager and the waiter were both completely focused on my table, and there were definitely other people around. It was awesome. I went with one of the light entrees — moroccan chicken, rice, veggies, and mixed greens. My husband went not so light with a three course meal of bbq chicken and potatoes, a wedge salad, and a brownie for desert. I kind of wanted a salad myself, but they were pretty expensive so I held off. When the salad came out, no wonder it cost 6 bucks — it was HUGE! We actually split it and were satisfied. I’d probably do that again. The bread was amazing and to die for and it definitely cancelled out the healthy meal I got, but it was worth it. Our meals took a little while, but our server actually warned us that the bbq chicken took a minimum of 20 mins, so we went in with full knowledge that it was going to be a casual dinner. When they came out, we were both completely enamored with them. My husband only ate half of his, he was so full from salad and bread. I ate every bit of mine though. The chicken was flavorful, spicy, and had a nice char without being overcooked. The seasoning on the veggies rocked my socks off. The rice and the greens were good, and rounded out the plate well(I was worried a light entrée would be tiny, this wasn’t). We were so full we got our brownie sundae to go, and had it later. It did not disappoint. They even went so far to pack up a little container of chocolate and caramel to drizzle on top. That’s the kind of attention to detail that showed throughout the whole experience there. It’s not cheap, but it’s also worth it. I’ll definitely be back — there are other light entrees that actually look pretty amazing… and a lot of other not light entrees I want to try once I get back to running a million miles! :)

I can’t believe how bad the service at this restaurant is. Even after I tried to find reasoning for every horrible event that occurred, this place deserves no star at all. First thing that happened, the server took forever to bring us our drinks. It shouldn’t take 10 minutes to bring us ice water.(FORGIVABLE) Second, the server spilled one of the drinks on my friend. Her shirt was soaked!(FORGIVABLE) Third, the server didn’t even apologize for spilling the drink! He just continued to pass out drinks!(UNFORGIVABLE) Fourth, after handing out the drinks and going back to the kitchen, the server didn’t come out to take our order for another 10 minutes!(UNFORGIVABLE — I thought to myself, «Maybe he’s talking to his manager about what happened.» But no, he was laughing with the other servers in the kitchen… there’s a kitchen window!) Fifth, the server finally takes our food order, and the food took about 45 minutes to reach our table. The food was NOT satisfying. I felt like I was eating mush! Normally, I forgive restaurant for their lack of service by enjoying one of their dishes, but none of the dishes I tried that day were good.(UNFORGIVABLE) Sixth, it was absurd that the server never apologized for spilling a drink and that the food took forever. You would think that the server would do his best to make up for his lack of serving skills, but he didn’t. So, we then asked to speak to the manager, hoping that maybe she would apologize. My table explained to the manager(not sure if she actually was the manager) the situation that happened between the server and our friend. She talked to us and looked at us as if we were trying to get free meals, when all we wanted was an apology! The way she spoke to us…(and I have never felt this way before at a restaurant)… felt as if she thought she was above us, as if she were our superior.(ABSOLUTELYUNFORGIVABLE!) I thought the restaurant business was about hospitality, but this restaurant clearly proves the exact opposite. I will not be coming back.

This place has a great happy hour! The food looks amazing and I would love to try the chicken pot pie one of these days. The bar area is very open and bright. The bartenders made me an excellent cucumber martini. I will be back to try the grub.

My hubby has been coming for work to Austin for the past couple of years. He regularly stays at The Domain and has the restaurants pretty well scouted out. This last trip I tagged along and we of course popped over to The Domain to go to one of his favorite places, the Daily Grill. When we got there, I could easily see why he liked it! Here are some of the highlights: 1. Great vibe going on. The place is decorated nice and you feel comfortable. There is a nice outdoor seating area, as well as a nice interior space. It is a bit more upscale than most places, but doesn’t feel stuffy at all. 2. Great service! Our server was great! He checked on us a lot, took care of a small problem we had, and just made our dinner a fun one. He was totally en pointe and great at his job. His customer service was also awesome, which I always appreciate! 3. The food was super tasty! I had the Burger of the Month, which was a black and bleu burger covered in black peppercorns and bleu cheese. YUM. The burger was cooked perfectly, the seasonings were in perfect balance, and the bun was toasted just right. My mouth was happy! My hubby was excited for dinner because this was the first time they hadn’t run out of meatloaf. My hubby is a meatloaf addict and gets it whenever it is on a menu where we are eating. I guess he had tried to get it the last few times he was here and finally scored this visit. The wait was worth it too! I was able to steal a bite and it tasted like what my mom used to make as a kid. The hubs inhaled it before I could get another bite. He said it was in his top 5 of all meat loafs he has ever had. So yeah, it was good! So I really enjoyed the Daily Grill and would definitely go back, if I was in the area. Hope you like it too!
