I was looking to have some breakfast and wanted to go someplace a little different. Mimi’s café seem like an interesting choice and I must say I was satisfied with the experience. The wait staff was friendly, the service was prompt. They was absolutely no wait for brunch. This restaurant has a want and desire to have a bit of a French flair. You will see terms like«les bossions» for example letting the customer know they have drinks on the menu. You will be asked if you would like to purchase croissants, there will be a house wine bottle on the table and all meals that have a French flair will be referred to as a specialty of the house. This place tries to be much more upper scale then it really is. Never the less the breakfast is pretty solid. The prefer the strawberry and cream waffles, it is a large Belgian waffle with a cream cheese topping that has bits of orange in it. The waffle is covered in strawberries and always seems to be delicately cooked, so that waffle is never dry. I always order my usual scrambled eggs and crisp bacon. The breakfast is serve with a small bowl of fresh fruit. I’ve been told that the other breakfast items are good as well. I once took a chance and got the banana nut waffle and was disappointed. I expected a topping of bananas and nuts, this waffle had everything baked and was a bit dry. I plan to stick to my favorite…

Haven’t been to Mimic recently, but went to dinner there tonight. Decided to have one of my favorite dishes in the past Quiche Lorraine. Was so dissapointed. Instead of the usual thick wedge of yummy quiche, I got a small individual pie that was more crust than filling. Dining room was almost empty tonight, if they are modifying favorites like this I can understand why.

I laugh at all these dumb reviews talking about the scenery and music… this isn’t a 100 $ a plate restaurant, it’s a freaking café. I came here to eat, and eat well I did. The ham and swiss crepes were great, the potatoes were very tasty although a little cooler than I’d have liked. I ordered the Orange Crème french toast instead if a real dessert… also very good. I’d recommend MiMi’s to anyone that likes good french food.

We stopped into Mimi’s for breakfast and were very happy. We were greeted warmly, seated quickly and received amazing service. Then to top it all off the food was amazing. I think we will be back during this visit.

Service sucked. But I will love MiMis till the day I die! Not having one in my hometown just about kills me, so anytime I get the chance to swing by here and grab breakfast I do! The seasonal Pumpkin Muffin is to die for. But my go to, blueberry muffin, is where it’s at! I prefer their breakfast to their dinner, but their dinner wins every time too! The French onion soup or the corn chowder is worthy of picking up and taking home. It’s just a great place for a real home cooked meal with a French flare.

One of my favorite places to eat. They have big variety of dishes. I’ve been there five times and I like all the dishes I ordered. Everything is very delicious. Waiters are good. Great place all kinds of meals.

The one good thing I can say about them is that they are consistent in putting out expensive, low-quality food. I had the French Dip. The bread was rubbery and the fries were soggy. I was here on a gift card I got for a previous bad visit over a year ago. I didn’t bother to complain again and just choked down the sandwich with plans to never return.

There’s nothing wrong with the restaurant, but there’s nothing great about it either. The scenery is excessive yet not charming, and the food is just average if not bad. If ever possible, go to La Madeline’s instead.

I had a business lunch here a few days ago. I couldn’t find a single fault. The hostess was polite and quick to get us seated. The place was clean and smelled delicious. Our waitress, and her new-hire shadow, were both nice, and helpful. The food was delivered quickly(soup, sandwich, and fresh fruit for me) and was very good. Our cups were always full, but we had privacy to discuss work. Cost was awesome, and when they found out this was our first visit, we got free muffins for dessert! I will be back. I will recommend to friends and family. Awesome experience!

My son and I just had wonderful dinners at Mimi’s Café near the Mopac. He had the quiche and artichoke friti and I had the chicken pot pie. YUM! Superbly cooked and served with a smile. Our waitress, Tiffany, was fantastic… and a Navy vet, too. Be sure to go in for a great meal… after 7PM it’s less crowded and quiet!

I have eaten here a few times and enjoy their breakfast items the most. They have a large menu and I have liked all of the things I’ve tried– crêpe’s, soups, deviled eggs, meatballs, omelets, pot pie and muffins the size of your head. Muffins… they are amazing! The parking lot is huge, so no worries about that!

One of my favorite places to have brunch in Austin. When I was a new customer, I signed up for the Mimi’s card and got a box of four free muffins. They were delicious and great for sharing! The food is always delicious at Mimi’s, whether you’re going off the breakfast or lunch menu. The servers are also courteous and friendly.

Our server, Will, gave excellent service! It was my first time at Mimi’s today, and they gave me two muffins of my choice: I got the blueberry and buttermilk. They were amazing. The mango mimosa was great. We started with a baked brie. I had never had anything like it. I also ordered a half cordon bleu sandwich, French onion soup, and small cup of fruit. Everything was delicious! I could not believe that I had never tried this place! My lunch was so good, I took a nap afterwards. I will definitely be back!

I mean it’s Mimi’s Café and not La Bernardin so keep your expectations to a minimum. The décor is pretty cheesy and the food is typical large chain type restaurant fare. They do give you unlimited bread and their french onion soup is actually pretty amazing. My wife always orders the chicken Parmesan, they give you 2 large crispy breaded chicken breast smothered in marinara sauce and cheese over a large bed of linguine. It never disappoints and it’s practically enough to feed 2. For a decent quiet sit down dinner this place does the job. Does it blow your hair back with their food and service, no. If you scour the internet for a BOGO coupon it makes this place all the better. Oh and their sodas and ice teas run $ 3! They keep the refills coming but c’mon, this isn’t the airport or movie theater, no reason for sodas to cost $ 3.

Its a chain corporate pseudo french café with american food. So it should be just awful, right? Never mind the oddness of the fake hobbit house sitting in a strip mall parking lot. Turn off your mental authenticity checker and everything will be just fine P F Changs is fake Chinese — but the food is excellent for what it is and the room is a nice place to sit in. Mimi’s Café is P F Changs gone francais — with the food not being excellent but being good enough. The room is comforting to the eyes even with its overboard provision of artificial ou-la-la. If you wanted to have an earnest long conversation with someone over a glass of wine and some reasonable but not distracting food — this would be a nice room in which to have that conversation. You don’t get any Keep Austin Weird points for going to Mimi’s Café. But this is a much better version of La Madeleine. At La Madeleine, no matter what you do, your portions will be microscopic and you will leave the place hungry. At Mimi’s you will be decently fed, by nice friendly people, in a place that does not feel like it is in a strip mall.

This rating is for breakfast only. 1. Their coffee is wonderfully strong. 2. The atmosphere is great – breakfast hours are never crowded, so you can easily get a nice booth. 3. Service is good, never rushed. 4. Breakfast portions are BIG! 5. If you go with a buy one get one free coupon, the price is right(otherwise, breakfast will run you at least $ 8 per person before beverages. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because of the restrooms. This morning I was noticing that they just weren’t clean. The sinks looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. I asked my husband, «how did the men’s restroom look?» and he replied with the exact same complaint! If a restaurant opens at 7AM, has very few customers when you get there at 8AM, and the restrooms are dirty, you can be confident they were not cleaned the night before. Too bad – otherwise, I would have given Mimi’s five stars for breakfast.

I keep giving this place a try since it’s by my office. It’s a matter of convenience. And, I DO like their onion soup… which is what keeps bringing me back… but it has changed over the years. The food quality is not all that. I mean, it’s good, but I’m not writing home to tell anyone about it. For what it’s worth… it’s okay grub… if you’re looking to be WOW’d…this is not the place to go eat… just sayin’.

I have eaten many times at a few Mimi’s location and each one of them have always been consistently good. I always enjoy the variety of the menu and the quality of the food. I have eaten a great«Club» sandwich, had a big simple salad, and had full plate entrée’s of home styled food. Sorry to sound generic, but I have eaten many items… I am just now getting around to finally doing the review; so I am not elaborating on my meals like I usually do. They also have a great Mother’s Day Breakfast. I try to bring my family there when we can on that special day. They have great meals, good prices, and if you come on Mothers Day. call ahead to see if they will take a reservation… if not, GETTHEREEARLY because long lines will be there(it’s just that good sometimes). Mimi’s has great muffin’s to fill you up or nibble on until your entrée comes out. The Tomato Basil soup is really good when you compare it to other places that make it their staple item(name withheld). Overall, Mimi’s is good for the food, good for the service, good for everyone’s picky appetite and good for a nice time out on a regular day or special holiday.

This a great place for breakfast and lunch. French influenced food with a casual setting is hard to find in Austin. Spacious with plenty of parking makes for an easy wait even at the busiest of times. The best part of the menu are the eggs Benedict. They have styles to choose from but you can customize them however you want. The turkey sausage tastes fantastic too and adds a healthy option.
