Great grilled chicken and cheeseburger! A must try in Atx. Google says you’re permanently closed. Is this true?!

Tried the mobile trailer for this place for the first time today as they were parked outside my work. Got the chili cheese fries — these were tasty, they used good skinny cut crispy fries, and true shredded cheese(no veleveeta!). The chili itself was pretty standard chili, and I added jalepenos which btw are fresh, not pickled and are incredibly spicy(even for me)! I also got the fried chicken sandwich. This was really good! That jalepeno aioli is delicious and the chicken was crunchy and moist. But my favorite parts are that they used good greens(no iceberg lettuce) and the bread. That bread was so good and soft and fresh! And they didn’t cut all the way through so the fillings kind of squished in like a pita pocket or something. A definite win on the sandwich! Wait time was a bit long but seeing how fresh everything was — it was more than worth it. Guy working was really nice too.

Located in a food truck park, we hit up the East Side Filling Station on a late Thursday night for a late night snack. I had the Chili Cheese Fries and it was pretty good. Unfortunately I wasn’t hungry enough to try the other items on the menu, next time perhaps. They do have a bunch of healthy options on the menu which is a plus, and my friend did try the Grilled Chicken Club and loved it. Since it’s located close to a bunch of bars in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by after a night of drinking ;)

2 co-workers went and didnt come back for a while… but with only 30 mins for lunch and it being right across the st, I decided to try it. when I got there, about 7 people were milling about, I asked and all of them had ordered and were waiting for their order, I asked and a couple said they are SLOW! so for 8.50 and I’m sure the ipad in your face to select a tip amount, like the review selection states… methinks not… like really? it’s a food truck, how far do you have to go to make the food?

I love this trailer because it has options to satisfy whatever mood you’re in. Their sweet potato fries and loaded fries are delicious. Last time I went, they had a quinoa bowl with greens and beets that was tasty and light. It’s nice to have healthy options at a trailer when you’re not feeling the typical heavy, fried dishes that many trailers offer. I will definitely continue to come back here!

This hidden gem is just under 1 – 35 on sixth st. It’s full of a bunch of trailers, with all sorts of food to try! We love Fried and True, Wholly Kabob and Spartan Pizza, and tacos from Veracruz, just to name few. It’s large, shady and there’s plenty of places to sit. It’s my favorite date night trailer lot!

East Side Fillin’ Station is a food truck court at the corner of 6th and Waller. Food trucks are grouped around a center courtyard with picnic tables. Parking seems adequate. Overall, not enthused by this place. It seemed dirty, not very trafficked, like the businesses here were struggling, with too much shade and trees everywhere. Flies surrounded a couple of open trash cans and ‘free samples’, which killed our appetites. The courtyard itself feels too small and a little claustrophobic. On top of the fact that it’s not a good part of town. I wouldn’t want to be here after dark. My wife and I immediately took our cookie sandwich from CoolHaus back to the car to eat it there. I think food trucks represent some of the best of Austin’s culture… but this park just wasn’t up to standards.
