Enterprise Rent-A-Car

The car I rented smelled like urine. The manager claims all cars smell that way. I did receive a small discount, but if all cars smell like a cat box then I would go to another vendor.

Good, quick customer service. No problems with my reservation.

Quick pickup and drop off. Great staff!

Friendly staff and clean cars. I would absolutely recommend this location! The manager even took of the extra day of charge for me because there was a miscommunication on the phone regarding my rate. 5 stars all the way!

If you have the choice, DO NOT RENT from here. I have done a fair amount of traveling and I have never had such a bad experience renting a car. They kept saying my cards were being declined, speaking with my bank and being told there should be no reason why my card was being declined. After the 4^th try it went through. After all that I sat for 15 minutes, mind you my boyfriend call 30 minutes before hand to say I would be here. They told me my car was being washed. The same answer they told every other person who was pissed off for waiting. If it wasn’t for the insurance company placing my rental here I would never rent from this location again.

I rented vehicles in the South Austin location and was pleased with the service I received. The staff was friendly and patient with me. I look forward to providing service to Enterprise for car rentals during our next family vacation.

My experiences here have been positive. We typically will rent when traveling out of town as our present cars have some issues and we’d rather not wind up stranded by the side of the road. On my most recent rental the car I was first issued seemed fine until I got to highway speeds when it began to vibrate pretty badly. Fortunately I was headed to my house to load the car rather than setting out on our trip so I was able to take it back and exchange it. The replacement car was an upgrade so that was nice.
It is convenient that they are open on Sunday as returning the rental on Sunday means one less day rental charge.

Prompt friendly service, good rate, decent car.

I rented a car from this location Easter weekend. Not realizing there was an Enterprise in Buda, I reserved a car for this Austin location and I’m so happy I did. Cagen was so helpful throughout the entire process. He even drove down to Buda to pick me up. I have rented cars from several other companies before and never have I had such a great experience. Caged was super nice and made sure the process was smooth, efficient, and easy. I will definitely rent from Enterprise again.

Do not use this place, they added charges without informing me TWO months after the rental.

The lack of service I received from that location is trashy and mediocre to say the least. I was indefinitely ignored from the moment I walked until I left, and had to leave by taxi because no one ever attended me and on top of that no one ever apologized.
The experience I received has so unsettled me and has left me shaken for some time. Every single minute I was at that location was the most discomforting. The events are as follow:
1) On May 02, 2012 at or around 4:25pm I was picked up by Enterprise from Ben White Automotive on 409 E. Ben White, Austin, TX 78 704. The mechanics had contacted Enterprise to pick me up from their location as my vehicle’s repairs had not been completed. I was driven by Enterprise to 4210 South Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78 745.
2) I arrived to the aforementioned Enterprise location at or around 4:30pm.
Upon arrival in spite of there being three male Customer Service Representatives, no one greeted me and no one even acknowledge me.
I waited while standing in the front of the reception desk for someone to acknowledge me and take my information. I kept waiting and no one seemed to care.
3) Hence I proceeded to sit down at one of their chairs for someone who would service me to rent a vehicle.
4) I waited for thirty minutes and not even once I was acknowledged. Other customers kept coming and going and they kept greeting them, however I was not ever addressed. Newer customers who came after me were swiftly serviced. However, in spite of staring directly at one of the representatives he did not still acknowledge me.
There was another male representative by the name of Ryan who so blantanly ignored me when after I had been waiting for 20 minutes, a business man comes in and he immediately served him without making him wait.
5) Moreover, there were over 7 persons in the office and everyone was really rude.
Three males at the front, two females sitting behind them at their desks. One male in a suit sitting at a desk and another male sitting in his office at the back.
Whenever the place got a little bit busy, the two females at the back would come to the front and offers their assistance to the arriving customers. Meanwhile, I kept being ignored.
6) Finally after thirty minutes of being deliberately ignored, I approched the business man who was sitting next to me and asked if I could borrow his phone so that I could order a taxi cab, as my phone had run out of batteries. The man decided to ask Ryan to order the taxi cab. Finally Ryan after he was asked by the businessman to do it, decided to speak to me and offered me to start the proceedings to get a rented-​vehicle. I declined after letting him know that I had been waiting for too long and I just preferred to have a taxi to take me home.
Ryan did not even apologize once. No one apologized when I left and the female manager did not lift a finger.
All in all, I had previously used Enterprise to rent vehicles, after this experience, I will never again set foot on one of their locations or ever rent from this company. I will rather go to Hertz or some other rental-​car– company even they are more expensive. I rather pay for services from companies that are more ethical and less biased about peoples’ appearance.

I have to say I was a little concerned about renting from them after digging through al the Unilocal reviews but the fact that they were within walking distance from home, they won out.
They are NOT the most efficient or customer-​centric but they get the job done. Apparently, they have an issue multitasking, as stood there for several minutes while they were trying to review my reservation and answer the phone and answer their coworkers. I was passed off to various employees no less than three times.
If I had a choice, I would not rent there again… but they were convenient.

I had a great experience with them. Fast, friendly, efficient. Got the car I asked for… Just that easy!

I’ve rented from this location quite a few times. They’re always quite quick to pick me up be it from from home or work, and very prompt to close the transaction out afterwards (something that is VERY important to me)
Today I unfortunately had to check my personal vehicle into the shop and called on Enterprise for some temporary transportation. My rep today «Deb» snatched me up from work within about 15 minutes of calling them, and after about 5 minutes at the actual Enterprise office I was pulling out on the road heading back to work behind the wheel of a dark blue Jetta (ok, maybe not the coolest car on the block but at least Deb was extremely cute and sociable)
This location has always been pretty decent to me, and I like the promptness of the staff and the numbers of cars they seem to keep on hand.

FYI they also sell cars here. I’ve often wondered… Do used car dealers have to take a class to leave a slime trail or does it just come naturally to most? Because really, nothing makes me want to buy something less than a pushy salesperson that doesn’t seem to listen to a word I have tosay. I drove to the opposite end of town to meet this guy on the one day I had one teensy smidgen of time (which is still next to none seeing as how I’ve got a broken foot, a totaled car, a baby and, you know, a life).
I told the guy umpteen times before arriving what kind of cars I was interested in looking at. Did he have a single one of those by the time I got there? Uh, how ’bout no. Did he have anything comparable? Oh, I don’t think so. In fact, I was shown precisely the exact opposite of what I’d asked for after an HOUR of this guy talking to me about what he thinks I want. I do not want an American made car. I do not want bells and whistles, I want safety features and reliability. I do not want cloth seats, I want leather…
What part of I have a small child and another on the way did you not understand? Do you even have any idea what yogurt does to a cloth seat? Sir, I don’t think you really want to put too much thought into that one. We live in Texas, and toddlers are messy. They scream in the car for food. They are ALWAYS. HUNGRY. Always. And you have to give them things to eat. But toddlers are spiteful. They pour juice on their crackers, letting them swell to grotesque proportions before squishing them into the nether regions of… your car’s cloth upholstery.
You know what I also don’t need? Automatic pedals that go up and down with some button. I don’t give a crap. I can close the trunk myself, I don’t need a button. In fact, I also don’t care that this American made car you’re showing me can open all its own doors from the inside. I DON’T CARE! Because you know what? My former car was totaled and it saved our lives because the crash test ratings were astronomical. That’s right. You know what else? It didn’t have heated seats and I never needed ‘em. Oh. Mah. Gawd. The best thing about this experience was getting to leave a ridiculous review on Unilocal

Wow. This is by far the WORST rental car experience I have had. I travel often and have been to probably 30 – 40 different enterprise locations — so I’m quite familiar with their standards.
I arrived early to pick up my car. 11:45am on a Friday morning. It looked like there were four people working the front desk and several more running cars and walking people in and out. About five people in the lobby. Plenty of cars out front.
After being made to wait about 20 minutes standing around while staff took calls while serving clients (a standard, but it was still annoying) I finally got to my turn. They are made to demand that you show a «credit card not associated with a bank» (eg, debit card) but if you don’t have one they just make you fill out some extra paperwork. Is that even legal? I mean, my debit card is backed by mastercard for a reason.
Then the guy proceeded to demand to see my flight itinerary since I am not from texas. What? This is a neighborhood location and I am renting a car for two days on my visit. After making me go through and pull it up on my ipod, he didn’t even bother looking at it to act like he was double checking it or anything.
As soon as he pulled up my reservation (which is a special sale rate) he gets on the phone with someone and asks if they have any cars on the lot: «cheap ones». OMG. Really? There are plenty of cars out front in their lot so I am confused and getting more frustrated by this point.
So I hear them telling someone else next to me they have to go to another location «2 blocks away» to get some cars. Then the guy tells me I have to go «right across the street» to pickup my car. I then follow the woman into a minivan and she proceeds to drive us SEVEN BLOCKS of back roads to a car repair place that also serves as one of their «locations». SEVEN BLOCKS IS NOT RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET YOU PRICK. We then stood around in the rain to get some crappy little toyota corollas. Mine smells like smoke and the brakes already jumped on me. Great.
I didn’t have my GPS with me, I’m new to town. Don’t drive me on back streets in the rain to some shitty little lot and give me some shitty little car just because I caught a sale rate and you didn’t get enough of the «cheap» cars to your front lot. And then leave me there in the middle of nowhere with a smelly little car.
All in all, this experience took 45 minutes of my day and I’m left so mad I had to come review it so I wouldn’t be driving to Dallas as angry. I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully by a car rental place in my entire life. I’m not looking for frills, but I am looking for professional courtesy when I rent with Enterprise. TOTAL FAIL.

The company I work for has a company account with Enterprise, and being that I travel a lot for work and this location right up the street from me, I’m usually here at least once a week either picking up or dropping off a car.
Unlike many of your neighborhood Enterprise locations, this is a distribution and training center for new employees. That means they’re almost never out of cars, but you’re almost always dealing with someone new. In other words, it might not go as smoothly as, say, a location at the airport or another location with less employee turnover.
Even so, the wait times at this location aren’t generally too bad. I’d guess most of their business comes from dealerships on the motor mile and the numerous body shops along S. Congress Ave (both a short drive away), so they’re usually busy at all hours of the day. That said the pick up drop off process is generally painfree, save for the occasional 10 minute wait during peak times of the day.
To sum up:
Pros: Distribution center = good selection of cars (especially foreign)
Cons: An Enterprise training facility that’s often busy.
