This place gets busy and seems understaffed. Good news the employees that do work at this location do a great job and have nice attitudes. Greet you as you come in and say thank you when you leave. They know the food and menu well and don’t seem to get flustered. Work well as a team. The food is always good and the place is clean. Location is easy to get in and out of also.

Not the fastest sandwich for a nearly empty restaurant and the amount of meat on the hook and ladder seemed a bit small. Had a bit to eat before coming here, and after the smaller sized sandwich I was still hungry. Quality was average to slightly above, perhaps. I do love that they have a ton of hot sauces to choose from with numbered stickers letting you know how much your rectum will hurt the next day.(1 – 10 scale) Decent in a pinch.

Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket, Engineer, Turkey Bacon Ranch. Can’t go wrong with any of those. It’s a bit pricey but the portions are huge and they donate a portion to a Public Safety Foundation. The broccoli cheddar soup is on point. They have those soda machines where you can customize your own drink. It gets pretty busy so if you don’t want to wait, you can order online or on their app. Oh and the hot sauce collection… have not seen such a variety in any other store! Definitely a unique concept separating itself from another sub places.

Hands down, my favorite subway restaurant. I am 110% addicted to the turkey & cranberry sandwich — heaven on a wheat roll. I would eat it every day for the rest of my life if their mark-up wasn’t so crazy high. Ingredients always taste super fresh and staff is very friendly.

My husband and I love this place! So yummy, fast and good service, no complaints! I order the Italian, my husband orders the NY Steamer. I’d say give it a try.

The sandwiches seem pretty good. Feels like the meat and bread are so-so and compensated by the sauce(salad dressing) squirted on top in great proportion. Always frustrated by too much sauce put on the sandwich, but love to compensate with all of the awesome HOTSAUCES available. That makes this place totally worth stopping at!!!

First off the service was surprisingly good and very friendly. The portions are huge, I guess that is from feeding fire fighters. I have not been able to get over how good the bread was. It is the perfect combination of Chewy and Crunchy. It set the tone for the entire sandwich. The toppings are bountiful and the veggies were fresh. The brisket and cheddar stole the show though, if all of the sandwiches are as good as this then this place will do well. I loved the variety of sauces along the bar to kick it up a notch. Also, if you ever need a bucket they have a charity that helps firefighters if you buy a pickle bucket for $ 2. I have to say the first trip was good, I will definitely come back again.

This place is consistently good. The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable. Try the turkey bacon ranch with some of the captains hot sauce they have. It’s delicious.

Convient to acc and the staff is friendly. The medium sub is huge as well. Good drink soda machine with lots of flavored choices and tea to drink. The pickle sub is good too. Could not decide between the kids meatball steal and the corned beef. The wheat bread looks good as do sauted is very tasty.

Usually, I place a lot of importance on the hot sauce options variety when I visit a new place. With that being said, Firehouse does not disappoint with their hot sauce options. If you’re looking for mild spice, extra hot, something cajun, or anything in between, it’ll probably be up on the counter. 5 stars for hot sauce. 5 stars for service– friendly, helpful, quick. 3 stars for veggie options. I typically build my own sub which works for me, but I do wish there was more veggie variety.

Went there for the first time! Absolutely amazing!!! I will be back for some great food. the only thing, the brisket tasted a little to fatty, and the sandwich was really small, but other than that EXCELLENT. I had the #10– brisket and cheese sub

Awesome Datil Chicken hot sub. Beat the taste of all subs had till date. You have large collections of sauces to select. Though it has very few options for those who only chicken or veg. But pretty good in taste. The hot makes it special.

I love most of their menu. Not sure how healthy it is. Come here for the taste and satisfaction. And the Cherry Limeade. Clean place. Fast service.

Update: been here only twice Allergy note: my experience here will not be like yours because I have a shellfish allergy. They cook their mushrooms in something that obviously triggers that. I didn’t actually test this of course, but the mushroom last time really brought the sandwich together so I’m more than a little disappointed by this. The hot sauces I’ve tried so far really aren’t. Weirdly they don’t just have a big bottle of Serracha. Recommend hot sauce includes Cheech Garlic sauce for flavor or one of the many habenero sauces for heat. Pros: * Good service, reasonably fast * Have one of those«anything» drink machines. I just drink water, but I know it’s a draw. Cons: * Overall arrangement — The table placement needs some work. I’d also switch directions that the place is setup so that you walk in the front door to walk up and order. Right now it’s sort of a zig zag, which doesn’t make sense for where they put the drinks. * I’m a little wary of the public servant thing to sell stuff. If you’re a former firefighter or cop who had to retire, you’re welcome to that and kudos. But if you’re just part of a chain that sells sandwiches trading on the names of no-joke heroes? I know they’ve got some charity stuff, but I’d something overt for when it’s a topic I take very personally. * Need to lose the TV. * Don’t recycle anything. Other notes: * The place was clearly booming on a lunch hour with a lot of people. That’s usually a good sign. * I should have cared more that they didn’t give me more options on my sandwich, but for some reason I didn’t. I think they asked me if I wanted mayo or mustard. * Unilocal staff: please delete the obvious care-of-product photography photos from the rotation. Useless.

I’ve been in this awesome city for 2.5 years, and have meant to try Firehouse Subs for a long, long time. Last week, my parents came to visit mt, and we were looking for a quick dinner close to their hotel, so my husband suggested Firehouse Subs, and away we went. I love the concept — who doesn’t love firemen? And firehouses? We walked inside, grabbed a few take-out menus, and sat down for a moment to contemplate our options. I decided on the«Club on a Sub», and got combo(chips and a drink.) They have one of those cool soda fountains that lets your customize your drink — I tend to like any place that has those… even though I usually just drink iced tea and bypass the soda. On this day, I went with a vanilla rootbeer with a little bit of cherry Dr. Pepper added to it. Delicious. :D Our food came out fairly quick, and my Dad and I had a great time looking at the hot sauces and deciding which ones to try. My husband and Mom decided to skip that portion… wusses! My sandwich was delicious, and judging by the contented grunts and sighs coming from the rest of the table, I think everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches, too. The space was nice and clean, the service was quick, and I loved the firehouse mural on the wall, the firehouse theme, and of course the soda fountain. I’ll be back, Firehouse Subs!

For me and a couple coworkers, this used to be a place we’d go to frequently. We’d get greeted as we walked in the door with a rowsing«Welcome». Now, nothing. The sandwiches are average. Not terrible, but not amongst the best either. The veggies are somewhat limited, and not really inspiring. There used to be tons of hot sauce choices to make up for the blandish sandwiches. Maybe I just caught them needing to restock, but it looked like they had only half the choices they used to have on my recent visit. TIP: If you’re getting the ‘cherry limeade”, you’re supposed to add the limes they have there to it. Otherwise it’s just, err… cherry ade. I see they have one of them fancy-dancy soda machines that seem to baffle your average shouldn’t-be-in-the-self-service-line-at-the-grocery-store customer. Now that those are all over North Austin, I’m hoping people get faster with it. I’m waiting for the iPhone interface. Used to love going to the Firehouse Subs. Now I just go when I’m passing through on a workday lunch errand, and don’t want to deal with the geniuses at the Crack-in-the-Box next door(don’t get me started)…
