Flightpath is a Coffeehouse that you don’t hear about often. They aren’t too hip, super centrally located, or pretentious, but they do have velvet paintings on the ceiling, LOOKUP. They cater to a lot of the UT study crowd and the remote workers, because they have tons of seating. Don’t be too shy to grab a four-top table with someone already working at it. They have an assortment of food/drinks beside coffee, too. Eastside pies, juices, and breakfast tacos all make the list. Get there early for the tacos, because they sell out pretty fast.

Cool vibe coffee shop. Lots of seating available and lots of outlets. An excellent place to bring your laptop and do some work. Also, the coffee is great. You can get really cheap refills on coffee(iced or hot) which I love as an inherently cheap person. We ordered a mocha as well which was delicious, smooth, and chocolatey. I have no complaints about this place. It delivers everything you want in a coffee shop. Also Biscuits and Groovy is next to it, so if you get hungry, just walk on over.

Almost 5 stars! I REALLY love this place. It’s the only coffee shop in town that gets my creative juices flowing and makes me extremely productive. I work remotely, so I come here about 1−3x a week and sometimes stay for as long as 7 – 8 hours. I *always* get my work done here! and I know other people have that«Flightpath Syndrome» too cause it’s usually the same old regulars coming in and out. Awesome indoor & outdoor seating — and plenty of it! Lots of outlets to plug into + fun, eclectic lighting + mismatched tabletops. Really warm, positive vibes! They also serve the best chai latte in town. Most of the baristas are friendly, except for that one that looks like Elvira, Mistress of the Dark… Not sure how she fits into the awesome staff there — she’s got a nasty attitude and is always rude. The only other downside I would note is parking, but it’s not terrible. There are about 4 spots up front and another 4 – 5 in the back, but you can always park in the neighborhood which is literally 20 feet away.

I love flightpath! I’ve been to a handful of the local coffeeshops around Austin, and this is by far my favorite. I like how affordable their beverages are($ 1.75 for a small coffee, compared to over $ 3 at other places), the variety of snacks and food they have to offer, and the general character inside. The only downside is parking, since there are only a few spots in the lot and you have to park a block away if you’re going to stay, but the atmosphere and affordability is worth the short walk from 50th. Another plus is having East Side Pies pizza available. It’s a little pricey compared to their other offerings, over $ 3.50 a slice, but also some of my favorite pizza in Austin.

I loved the place. Basically a magnificent place to engorge in studying for exams. One of the most alluring factors is the ability to open up a tab for coffee. That to me seems unheard of, so as I engaged in my readings it was amazing just to order continuous amounts of the decadent chai lattes in a seamless manner. The staff knew how to handle a lot of people and were amazingly friendly. They asked me what I was working on and when I closed my tab as to whether I completed it or not. It was the little gestures that earned this place the 5 stars. The wifi was also super fast which led to some procrastination but only helps the restaurant. I will be visiting again soon.

Place is usually crowded. Clean bathrooms. Couches are comfy. Patio is fine. Plenty of electric outlets. I usually buy boring drinks like iced tea and regular coffee. Limited parking.

Excellent latte and chocolate cheesecake. Very clean when we visited. Laid back vibe, lots of seating with tables and a couple of couches. Wi-Fi does not have an «I agree» nag screen.

Great place to study and get some work done. Pretty popular and few tables available when I arrived. Park on the residential streets as a very limited parking space for the site. I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t comment on the brews. Had the breakfast tacos which were decent enough to last me till I got a bowl of phở later.

The location is pretty close to a neighborhood. Right next to the location are residential homes. Has a nice, Austin-y feel as you are walking up. You can park somewhere around the shop. When I went, I just parked street. There are plenty of seats and tables. Only downside is that this place seems to be pretty popular. Often times it may be hard to find a free table. It’s okay, you can always share a table with someone else :) Most of these tables can seat 4 people. A couple of the tables are a bit bigger. There are some couches in the front room. Outdoor seating is available. Most of the outdoor tables can seat 1 – 2 people. The bathroom was pretty clean. No complaints there. Wifi is pretty decent. Obviously, the more people using it, the worse it gets, but it’s pretty decent. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. I would also recommend the cold brew. Pretty darn good! Overall, it was a great place to hangout, study. The noise-level is pretty low so you don’t have to worry about blaringly loud music or really loud people.

As I sit here, sipping my tart cherry melon kombucha and munching on some jalapeño kettle chips, I’m reminded of two of the worst dates I ever went on. Remember La Condesa guy? Yeah, like that guy, but a different type of awful. A few years ago, I went on my first online date. I wasn’t sure how I felt about online dating, but I promised some friends I was going to give it a shot. Luckily for me, the first guy that agreed to meet was only free on the night of my birthday. I explained that my parents were coming into town and I’d be running a marathon that weekend, so I couldn’t stay out late or do anything crazy. He suggested Flightpath because it was close to his house and you can never go wrong meeting at a coffee shop. We met up, get in line to order, and he orders and pays for his drink and then looks at me expectantly. He tells me to order. I am all about equality — I am always willing to pay for my own drink and I split the bill several times in the future on other dates. But this was different — there was no discussion beforehand. He didn’t ask if we should split the bill. He just assumed. And on my birthday. If it had been on any other day, fine, but this was my birthday. I paid the $ 2.50 for my hot chocolate and then he commented on the fact that it was my birthday. The barista then told me she would have given it to me for free if she had known. Oh, well. I appreciated her kindness, but my date’s kindness was sorely lacking. The date was boring and I left after an hour or so to meet my parents. I had an easy out and I was thankful. I didn’t have much interest in any further dates, but I figured I wasn’t being fair. I hadn’t talked with him for very long and I left early — maybe things would have gotten better once he loosened up? Maybe he was nervous? I am far too nice sometimes. I agreed to a second date — we met at Flightpath to get coffee and then we were going to get some beer and some food and make a night of it. We order our coffee separately, of course, and then walk to Duval market to get some beer. While he is paying for the beer, something amazing happens. He knocks his coffee over and it spills everywhere. All over the counter, all over him, some on the cashier — it was a coffee fountain that never stopped. I immediately started laughing — how could I not? I laughed so hard I was crying and my date was becoming increasingly more flustered. Now a line was forming and he was trying to hastily soak up the coffee with thin napkins, well aware that he was holding up the line. The more I watched him struggle, the more I laughed. He was now clearly annoyed with my laughter because he was embarrassed, but why couldn’t he see how funny this was? We left and ordered pizza — even though I mentioned I did not like pizza — and headed to pick it up. He made me pay, stating that he purchased the alcohol. Alcohol I wasn’t even going to drink.(I drank very rarely those days and he picked a beer I didn’t like, so I wasn’t really planning on drinking anything.) Now I was annoyed. What the hell kind of date suggests we do all this stuff and then just springs the payment on the other person? He suggested East Side Pies and while I am very glad it led me to discover a type of pizza I’ll actually eat, I was beyond irritated that we get there, walk up to the counter, pick up the pizza, and then he tells me, «You have to pay for it.» Um, what? This wasn’t my idea, I told you I didn’t like pizza, and you didn’t ask me if I would pay for it prior to us ordering! If he had asked, I wouldn’t have been so irritated, but if he had asked, I would have suggested that we cook something together so I didn’t spend over $ 20 on something I didn’t even want to eat.(And he only spent $ 8 on the beer that only he was going to drink. Clearly a man who believes in fairness.) There were no further dates because I was done with that douche. On the other hand, I am not done with Flightpath. Flightpath has been nothing but sweet to me. They make an amazing hot chocolate and I can’t wait to order it once the weather cools down a little more. The people working behind the counter have always been so friendly to me and I love that. I’ve always found a spot to sit and I love their covered patio. And the outlets — outlets everywhere! Outlets for everyone! That guy was a total tool, but he did introduce me to Flightpath and East Side Pies, so it wasn’t a total waste.

Came here late on a Tuesday night… place was fairly empty so there was a plethora of seating options, inside and out. The inside had large tables with room for 4 people or a person, a drink, a laptop, stack of books, and a notebook which is what most people had on their tables. Plenty of space. This place is quiet! If you are looking for a quiet study spot, this is it. If you’re looking for a place to chat or play a board game… then I’d recommend coming here on a cooler day to sit out on the patio. It is a smoking patio, so be aware of that, but it’s decent size so you can get away for the most part. Patio seating are picnic tables, large and small. Really cool décor. The service was great. The barista was really nice, easy to talk to, ready to make a suggestion when I needed to decide between drinks. This time round, I had the New Orleans iced. Very tasty and refreshing. I meant to try the espresso but time slipped away from me while I was catching up with my friend. I’ll be sure to try again soon and update.

Wow. Excellent place! 1) Staff – great friendly ladies serving me. Offered a generous free sample of their iced coffee with milk and sweetener. Convinced me to order that. 2) work space – ample and very hip. Formica! Many, many Formica tables. A huge back room. Plentiful outdoor seating in the shade. 3) Snacks – a good selection including raw and GF bars by a local place(Bearded Brothers – can you get any more Austin? No. You cannot!) 4) Coffee – the New Orleans I tried was cool, strong, sweet, refreshing, with a bit of vanilla(?) flavoring. I wish that I had had time to hang out here. Next time!

I wanted to love this place, y’all, I really, reallllly did… but I just feel like I am that distant cousin’s house that you don’t really know or know anyone there that well and you’re having to hang out for some family thing, but you feel completely uncomfortable. If you’re a regular, they’re super friendly. Not a regular? Yeah… they’re not so welcoming. I got the large Mocha latte and it’s so sickly sweet that I cannot even drink it. Here are the plus points: ~Ample seating and tables you can actually spread out and work on ~Really great, shaded outside seating with plenty of outlets!!! ~ WiFi worked great So, if I ever have to go here again, I’ll just grab a bottle of the Yerba Mate and enjoy the plus side of it all.
